CALL TO WORSHIP

Edgar Palacios

Let us worship God who is our light, our strength, and our salvation. When our confidence is in God of whom shall we be afraid? One thing we ask of God, one thing we seek to live in the house of the Lord all the days of our lives. That we may behold the beauty of God in creation and in one another. Teach us to trust the ways of God. That we may know Gods goodness and strength all the days of our lives. Let us worship God! INVOCATION PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST Edgar Palacios Edgar Palacios

SERMON REFLECTION ON PSALM 90 Verse 1, Choir Verses 2 4, All

1.

Wildflowers bloom and fade, soon come and gone. But God, from age to age, you still live on. Older than time and space, you are our dwelling place. Keep us in your embrace, O God, our home. Your love will never end; our days are brief. Our years are full of sin, labor, and grief. You turn us back to dust, yet all your ways are just, so we will live in trust, O God, our home. Our lives are like the rose that quickly dies. Teach us to count our days; God, make us wise. Though time flies swiftly past, God, let our good work last. Your strong arms hold us fast, O God, our home. Fill us with faithful love as morning wakes. Let us rejoice in you as each day breaks. May your great work be known, your power on earth be shown. Do not forget your own, O God, our home.

R EFLECTING AND C ONFESSING

CALL TO CONFESSION NUMBERING OUR DAYS
During the season of Lent, we invite you to participate by moving to one or more of the stations provided, or raise your hand for assistance. At the altar table, light a candle and offer a silent prayer. At the table near the organ, write a prayer and leave it in the box. At the back of the Sanctuary, receive an anointing of oil, a reminder that you are Gods beloved child. Or simply remain seated, using this time for contemplative prayer and meditation.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND LORDS PRAYER Leah Grundset Davis Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

LIFT EVERY VOICE

During the singing, we invite you to come forward if you wish to make a public commitment to Christ or to join our family of faith. If you are interested in membership or have questions about Calvary, please contact Pastor Leah.

WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS We give thanks that you have been guided by the hand of God to this community of faith. We pledge to love each other and to work to grow into the fullness of Christ together. Amen. BENEDICTION DEPARTING TO GIVE AND TO SERVE
During the season of Lent, we hear no Postlude at the conclusion of worship; rather, we exit silently in a spirit of contemplation. Ushers are stationed at the rear doors to receive our Tithes and Offerings. We thank you for your gifts and we dedicate them to the service of God, both in this place and around the world. Following worship please join us in Woodward Hall, left as you exit the Sanctuary, for refreshments and fellowship. Be sure to check out opportunities for service during the week. Visitors, we look forward to greeting you as honored guests.

WORSHIP NUMBER YOUR DAYS. Today we continue our Lenten series, reexamining the ways we practice piety. Perhaps the word pious has a negative connotation because so many have practiced their piety in ways Jesus warned against: stewardship for show, prayer for public praise, fasting for face value. What if we tried to live out a lifetime storing up real treasures? Psalm 90 is our guide, and in each Gospel passage this Lent, time is reiterated in a word or phrase. How do we number our days so that we may gain hearts of wisdom? TODAY LATINO FELLOWSHIP SUNDAY SCHOOL.
