Ph.D. Short-listing Criteria for 1 sem 2012-13

Full time with Masters Degree: General: OBC: SC/ST/PH: ME/M.Tech > 70% (7.5 CGPA) + B.Tech/Equivalent > 60.0% (6.75 CGPA) ME/M.Tech > 65% (7.0 CGPA) + B.Tech/Equivalent > 60.0% (6.75 CGPA) ME/M.Tech > 57.5% (6.5 CGPA) + B.Tech/Equivalent > 55% (6.25 CGPA)

Full time without Masters Degree: General: B.Tech/Equivalent > 75% (8.5 CGPA) + GATE SCORE >700 OBC: B.Tech/Equivalent > 70% (7.5 CGPA) + GATE SCORE > 600 SC/ST/PH: B.Tech/Equivalent > 65% (7.0 CGPA) + GATE SCORE > 500 Sponsored/Part-time with Masters Degree: General: ME/M.Tech > 60% (6.75 CGPA) + B.Tech/Equivalent > 60.0% (6.75 CGPA) OBC: ME/M.Tech > 60% (6.75 CGPA) + B.Tech/Equivalent > 60.0% (6.75 CGPA) SC/ST/PH: ME/M.Tech > 57.5% (6.5 CGPA) + B.Tech/Equivalent > 55.0% (6.25 CGPA) In addition to the above the minimum requirement of work experience is as follow: 1 One year work experience in a project at IIT Delhi or Six months work experience in a project at IIT Delhi with prior experience of one year in Teaching/ Industry/ Research Organization. 2 Two years of work experience in Teaching/Industry/ Research Organization. Sponsored/Part-time without Masters Degree: General: B.Tech./Equivalent > 75.0% (8.5 CGPA) OBC: B.Tech./Equivalent > 70.0% (7.5 CGPA) SC/ST/PH: B.Tech./Equivalent > 65% (7.0 CGPA) In addition to the above the minimum requirement of work experience is as follow: 1 2 year work experience in a project at IIT Delhi or 1year work experience in a project at IIT Delhi with prior experience of 2 year elsewhere. 2 3 years of work experience in industry/ Research Organization.

NOTE: BSZ (Ph.D. in Bharti School of Telecom) will have the same cutoff as EEZ (Ph.D. in Elect.Engg.Deptt.)

Written test / Interview schedule The written test (multiple choice questions based on basic and advanced level of B.Tech/ B.E. / equivalent ) of all the eligible candidates (for EEZ/BSZ), as per the short -listing criteria mentioned in th page 1, will be held on 17 May 2012 . The written examination will start at 2:00 PM and would be of one hour duration. It will be conducted by the EE department and all candidates are advised to see the EE department notice board for details of examination venue. The results of the written test will be used for short-listing of the candidates for the final interview. The final interview will be held on th 18 May 2012. The question paper will consist of six sections, out of which the candidate is expected to choose and answer only one section. If shortlisted, the qualified candidate will be eligible to attend the interview in the corresponding area. The list of candidates qualified for the interviews, will be displayed on the Dept. notice board on the same evening. The candidates are advised to carry their own scientific calculator.
