Allgemein

>Assign IP< >Assign a specific IP address<

General
The TCP/IP Converter, Ethernet-RS232/RS485 (Type UDS 1100) changes the serial data of an RS232 interface into a TCP/IP protocol, allowing data to be transferred across large paths via an available company network or the Internet. Using the Converter, the cable between the RS232 interface and internal devices can be extended from the 12 m that it has previously been to almost any length.

Use a flexible connection cable (e.g. CAT 5 type) for wiring. The connection of the cable shielding protects the signal lines from the effects of interference.

Pressing the >Search< button searches for all Converters that are available in the network.
The DeviceInstaller software (included in the delivery of the Converter) will now be started. Pressing the "Search" button searches for all Converters that are available in the network. If the PC is assigned the same subnet mask as the Converter, this will be shown with the status "online". If the Converter is located in a different subnet mask to the connected PC, only the menu items "Search" and "Assign IP" are displayed. In this case, the IP address and Subnet mask in the Converter must be changed. The Converter can be accessed directly via the MAC address of the Converter. A 1-1 connection via a crossover cable is required for this purpose.
Adjusting the IP address The network address of the Converter can be changed via the >Assign IP< menu item.
If this is not possible, the Converter can also be addressed and changed via the MAC address which is located on the rear.

12
If a serial essernet interface is connected to a WINMAG alarm management system via the Converter, then an essernet must be created in the WINMAG system and the "virtual" COM interface assigned as the port address must be selected.

If a FACP 800x / IQ8Control or IAP 5008 is directly serially connected to a WINMAG alarm management system via the Converter, an >Event Protocol Network< must be created. The selected interface (COM port) will be displayed in the line "Variable connection settings".
Fig. 30: Dialogue window >Event Protocol Network< displaying the selected interface
Direct serial coupling If an MB or HB control panel is directly serially connected to the Converter via the CPU card, the connection can be established directly via the IP address of the Converter. To do this, a >Direct serial control panel connection< must be created in the WINMAG system.
