The judges of the 2012 school campaign met at the Egyptian institute in Madrid on October 24th on United Nations Day and chose the best works in the six competition categories: drawing, poster and slogan, mural, comic, professors and school. The first awards were given out between the participants of Algeria, Egypt, Mexico, Oman, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and the exotic laureate, a school from the Cook Islands. The culminating moment of the ceremony was the signing of a twinning protocol between IES Isabel the Catholic in Madrid and of BIS of Indonesia. The theme for the 2012 campaign united more than twenty-five thousand students and professors and received around four thousand entries of work. Sponsoring this campaign was The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, Villarreal C.F., the Egyptian Institute of Madrid, the Little Art Gallery of Munich, Germany and the World Association of Early Childhood Education (AMEI-WAECE). This educative initiative at an international level is convened annually at a press conference in the United Nations New York for the Spanish non-governmental organization Peace and Cooperation, accredited by the United Nations. The Peace and Cooperation School Award was created in 1986 with the purpose to promote the peaceful relations among people in different nations. The past ceremonies have been celebrated in Madrid, Panama City, Cairo, Mashhad, Belgrade, Dubai, Abuja, and this time in Jakarta.
