Cylinder
Use this command to create basic cylindrical solid bodies. Cylinders are associative to their positioning objects.
You can use one of two methods (types) to create a cylinder. Where do I find it? Toolbar FeatureDesign Feature Drop-downCylinder Menu InsertDesign FeatureCylinder Prerequisite Available with the Advanced with full menus and Essentials with full menus roles.

Cylinder options
Type Axis, Diameter, Creates a cylinder using a direction vector, a diameter, and a height. and Height Arc and Height Creates a cylinder using an arc and a height. Axis Appears when the Type is set to Axis, Diameter, and Height. Lets you specify a vector for the cylinder's axis. Vector Constructor Opens the Vector dialog box. Specify Vector Inferred Vector This is the default vector type. Click to see the Vector list. Select the required vector type, then select objects supported by that vector. You can change the vector anytime and select new objects.
Reverse Direction
Lets you specify an origin point for the cylinder. Point Constructor Opens the Point dialog box. Specify Point Inferred Point This is the default point type. Click to see the Point list. Select the required point type, then select objects supported by that point. You can change the point anytime and select new objects. Arc Appears when the Type is set to Arc and Height. Lets you select an arc or circle. The software derives the orientation of the cylinder from the selected arc. The axis of the cylinder is normal to the plane of the arc and passes through the arc center. A vector indicates this orientation.

Note The arc you select does not have to be a complete circle. The software creates a complete cylinder based on any arc objects. Dimensions Diameter Height Boolean Specifies the Boolean operation. None Unite Creates a new cylinder that is independent of any existing solid body. Combines the volume of the new cylinder with an intersecting target body. Specifies the diameter of the cylinder. Specifies the height of the cylinder.
Subtract Subtracts the volume of the new cylinder from an intersecting target body. Boolean Option Intersect Creates the new cylinder from the volume shared by it and an intersecting target body. Note
If there is no solid in the part, only the None option is available. If one solid exists in the part, all options are available. If you choose an option other than None, the lone solid is automatically selected. If more than one solid exists in the part, all options are available. If you choose an option other than None, you must select a target solid before OK or Apply become available.
Appears when the Boolean option is set to Unite, Subtract, or Intersect. Select Body Settings Appears when the Type is set to Axis, Diameter, and Height. Enables associativity of the cylinder axis origin point and its direction with the positioning geometry. Clearing the check box during an edit removes the associativity. To make the axis origin point and direction associative again you must redefine them with this option selected. Preview Show Result computes the feature and displays the result. When you click OK or Apply to create the feature, the software reuses the computation, making the creation process faster. Undo Result exits the result display and returns you to the dialog box. Lets you select a target body.
