We look forward to meeting you and your child at our Highly Capable Program Open House. The open house is scheduled for April 11, 2013 from 10:00am-11:30am. You will have the opportunity to meet our teachers, see our classrooms, talk with current students in the program, and attend a question and answer session with the teachers, as well as the parents currently in the Ridgecrest HiCap Program.
Schedule of Events
Beginning at 10:00am, you will have the opportunity to have a current student give you a tour of our campus. Following the tour, teachers will meet you in room 19 for a presentation and question and answer session. During our time together, you will have an opportunity to interact with current students in the program to see some of their outstanding work. Please interact with them and ask them any question you have. Our program overview will end at 11:30am. Because this tour occurs during the school day, and all of our students, throughout the building, are in rigorous learning environments, we invite you to be respectful, responsible, kind, and safe.

Ridgecrest Elementary
At Ridgecrest we invite families to become a part of our school community and to help shape our schools climate so that it effectively engages everyone to support student success. The Ridgecrest community strives to build meaningful and productive relationships with our families to increase student achievement.
and also get the opportunity to study specic concepts more deeply. HiCap students should function at an independent level, be self-motivated, and exercise good time management skills. Ridgecrest teachers in the HiCap program strive to integrate with general education classes whenever possible. Students have the same lunch and recess times as their peers, travel on eld trips together, and occasionally work together on topics that all students study. Ridgecrest teachers in the HiCap program work to assist students in extending their learning and increasing their academic, social, and emotional skills. The pace of the curriculum allows students to have more time to focus on projects and meaningful individual assignments.
Family Involvement
All children need to feel successful at home, in school and, later in the workplace. A proven way to help ensure success is to get families interested and involved in their childrens learning.
