Entry criteria
Entries in all categories are open to products, innovations, campaigns and initiatives introduced or reintroduced to the North American or Latin American markets since June 1, 2009. A product, brand or company may enter more than one category. Entry form, product description, image, sample and payment must be received no later than September 1, 2010 (see Entry checklist opposite).

Entry checklist
Completed entry form (downloadable from www.interbevawards.com) and fax to +44 1225 327891, no later than September 1, 2010. Product description and product image (jpg) to be emailed to jane.harris@foodbev.com no later than September 1, 2010. Product samples (where appropriate) to be sent clearly labeled with your company name to arrive no later than September 14, 2010, to: Show Management InterBev Awards Interbev 2010 c/o Shepard Exposition Services 603 W Landstreet Rd, Orlando, FL 32824 Entry payment: $195 per entry no later than September 1, 2010 If payment is not received by this date, the entry will be withdrawn.

What is the judging panel looking for?


New products and initiatives that are: genuinely innovative; introduce new concepts; offer added value; have market impact. All products must: be fit for purpose and fit for market; clearly communicate benefits from nutrition, hydration, health or functionality, to fun or simple refreshment. Aspects of a product which directly reflect the following issues may be taken into account: the health and nutrition debate; use of ingredients and portion control; the environment from innovative and responsible packaging to packaging waste to food miles.

What is the judging panel looking for?


Sustainability initiatives which create measurable environmental benefits in the following areas: Lightweighting of packaging / post-consumer waste reduction Water and energy conservation Environmental initiatives that make a major contribution to a companys published Corporate Social Responsibility report Environmental initiative presentations should be clear, avoiding greenwash

Health, nutrition and hydration


Best health, wellness, hydration or nutrition initiative

What is the judging panel looking for?


Health, wellness, hydration or nutrition initiatives which: promote the importance of energy balance i.e. balancing calories consumed with those expended through exercise promote or provide education around specific themes such as: nutrition; hydration; portion control; weight management

New ingredients that are genuinely innovative and offer measurable advantages for beverage producers and/or consumers Offer added value for producers and consumers in terms of health, nutrition, taste, mouthfeel, or sweetness Have market impact: for developing a product category or extending consumer choice

Manufacturing, distribution and packaging


Best new packaging innovation

What is the judging panel looking for?


Packaging innovations that: measurably improve consumer convenience and usability ease of use / opening / dispensing / extends shelf-life suits consumption occasion (on-the-go, fine dining, etc) offer added value to brand owners and create differentiation improve shelf stand-out create new consumption occasion opportunities make a measurable contribution to environmental sustainability, through: reduction in raw material use / lightweighting / water and energy conservation consideration of post-consumer waste recovery / recycling / reuse (see also Best environmental sustainability initiative)

Best new bottling, manufacturing or production technology innovation

What is the judging panel looking for?


Bottling, manufacturing or production technology innovations that: provide measurable cost/time advantages for producers create new product opportunities make a measurable contribution to environmental sustainability (see above)

Best new distribution innovation multi-packs, vending, chill-chain, etc

What is the judging panel looking for?


Distribution innovations that: measurably improve consumer convenience create new product opportunities make a measurable contribution to environmental sustainability (see above)

Marketing and consumer education


Best consumer TV / cinema advertisement or social networking marketing campaign YouTube / FaceBook / Twitter / etc. Best print marketing, store promotion, point of sale campaign or activation

Campaigns that entertain, inform or educate consumers

What is the judging panel looking for?


Activations, store promotions or point of sale campaigns that: entertain, inform or educate consumers demonstrate originality

InterBev exhibits (InterBev exhibits will be judged by the panel on the opening day of the Trade Show September 22, 2010)
Best exhibit under 200 sq ft Best exhibit over 200 sq ft
Members of the judging panel will select the best InterBev exhibits on the opening day of the Trade Show
