INSPIRATIONS OF THE SCRIPTURES

Psalm 19:7-11; 2 Peter 1:16-21

The level of confidence which an individual has in God is a direct reflection of the confidence he has in the Bible. A man can go all lengths in consecrating himself for divine service and he gets increasingly persuaded about the genuineness of the claims of the Bible and the certainty of the rewards that the Bible promises every faithful pilgrim at the end of life's journey. If God is believed without an iota of doubt to be "fully responsible" for the writing of the Scriptures, then may man give all that he is and all that he has to the cause of the Holy Book. 1. INSPIRATION OF THE SCRIPTURES 2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:1; Ezekiel 1:3; Acts 1:16 By inspiration of the Bible, we mean the power which the divine Spirit puts forth on the authors of the Holy Scriptures in order to give them guidance (even in the employment of the words they use) and to preserve them alike from all errors and all omissions. The word "inspiration" translated from the Greek language means " God-breathed", implying that a special influence of the Holy Spirit in the lives of holy men which qualified and enabled them to make infallible record of divine truth written by divinely inspired men, the Bible therefore is a perfect treasure of heavenly instructions having God as its author, salvation as its theme and truth (without any mixture of error) as its matter.

2. FALLACIES OF BIBLICAL INSPIRATIONS Isaiah 8:20; Acts 28:27; 2 Timothy 3:7 There are various erroneous views about Biblical inspiration. Some people hold the view that the writers of the Bible have the same natural insights which all men possessed to some degree. They therefore compare the writers with great writer like Shakespeare, Caesar or Newton. But they are wrong! Morally depraved men cannot produce an immortally purifying book like the Bible. There are those who hold the view that only certain parts of the Bible were inspired by God while the rest were not. The Bible-approved view of inspiration is that both the thoughts and the words of the writers were divinely inspired.

3. EVIDENCES OF FULL INSPIRATION Exodus 4:10-12; 2 Samuel 23:1, 2; 1 Corinthians 11:23-25; 2 Peter 1:14; Psalm 119:9, 11 There are various evidences that attest to the fact that the Bible is inspired by God. The testimonies of Jesus Christ together with the claims of the Bible writers can be grouped together as internal evidence. Jesus said that not even a jot of the word of God will go unfulfilled. The Bible claims divine inspiration and is filled with such expressions as "Thus saith the Lord", " The Lord said", " The word of the Lord". Many other biblical evidences also attest that the Bible is the word of God. The Bible is unique in many ways. Its wonderful unity in the face of diverse background of writers. No other book has been translated or circulated widely like the Bible. Besides, all other books get outdated however the Bible continues to be relevant even after more than 1,800 years of existence. The Bible has survives all its antagonists. WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO CONVINCE YOU OF THE INSPIRATION OF THE SCRIPTURES?
