Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance

elcome to your first semester at Valley Center High School. As most of you know, I am the new professor for the Introduction to Spanish. I know this is your first semester as High School students, but do not be intimidated in asking for help. I am really excited to work with you and hopefully we will be able to develop your knowledge and passion for this beautiful language. Buena Suerte!

The class will be indeed challenging, but please do not worry; I will always be there to help. The mission of this class is to comprehend the basics of Spanish such as basic oral and written skills. The key to success will be to not be scared of failing. Spanish. My dream is for this group of students to make errors about the language now so one day while visiting South America; you will have the confidence of being able to speak fluently!

In this course we will try to incorporate technology in order to develop basic sections of the language. We will use online websites in order to learn parts of songs in Spanish with English translations. Also we will watch a movie every two months in order to see how much you are developing the connection of comprehending Spanish. Finally we will be able to use the internet to explore the history of Spanish and Latin American culture for our final projects!

Although the material will be new please do not be scared of having fun in the way. Learning is a joyous experience so make memories and friends. The best combination for education is learning and having fun! The three most important things to keep on mind for this class are Our mission is to learn basic Spanish! Technology will help us! Learn and have fun!
