Peningkatan jumlah rumah sakit khusus di Surabaya berbanding lurus dengan jumlah limbah B3 medis yang dihasilkan setiap hari. Surabaya Timur merupakan objek penelitian ini karena terdapat rumah sakit khusus meliputi Rumah Sakit Bersalin (RSB), Rumah Sakit Jiwa (RSJ), Rumah Sakit Bedah, serta Rumah Sakit Gigi dan Mulut (RSGM). Data timbulan dan komposisi limbah B3 medis diperoleh dengan pengukuran langsung di lima titik sampel. Timbulan limbah B3 medis rata-rata tiap pasien perhari RSB, RS. Bedah, RSGM, RSJ berturut-turut adalah 0,102 kg/org.hari, 0,994 kg/org.hari, 1,66 kg/org.hari, 0,032 kg/org.hari, 0,006 kg/org.hari. Komposisi terbesar dari keseluruhan rumah sakit khusus adalah limbah infeksius. Pengelolaan limbah B3 medis meliputi reduksi, pemilahan, pewadahan, pengumpulan dan pengangkutan. Pengelolaan yang dilakukan rumah sakit khusus dibutuhkan perbaikan dan kesesuaian dengan peraturan yang berlaku. Alur pengumpulan limbah B3 medis yaitu menuju rumah sakit umum (RSU. Dr. Soetomo dan RSU. Haji) yang dapat melakukan mitra pengolahan limbah B3 medis dengan cara memenuhi biaya yang ditawarkan. Sedangkan khusus untuk limbah radiologi berupa fixer dilakukan pemanfaatan oleh pihak lain.

An increasing number of specialty hospital in Surabaya is directly proportional to the number of hazardous medical waste generated every day. East Surabaya is an object of this study because there are special hospitals include Maternity Hospital (RSB), the Mental Hospital (RSJ), Hospital Surgical and Hospital Dentistry and Oral (RSGM). Generation and composition of hazardous medical waste data obtained by direct measurements at five sample points. Hazardous medical waste generation on average per patient per day RSB, RS. Surgery, RSGM, RSJ, respectively, 0.102 kg/patient.day, 0.994 kg/patient.day, 1.66 kg/patient.day, 0.032 kg/patient.day, 0.006 kg/patient.day. The composition of the overall largest specialty hospitals is infectious waste. Hazardous medical waste management includes reduction, sorting, packaging, collection and transportation. Management of the specialty hospital made necessary repairs and compliance with applicable regulations. The flow of hazardous medical waste collection that is, toward a general hospital (Dr. RSU.. Soetomo and RSU. Haji) who can perform hazardous medical waste processing partner by meeting the cost has to offer. While specific to radiology in the form of waste fixer utilized by other parties.
