Simplifies the processing

multiple documents within a single batch

Destinations/ shortcuts can

be selected prior to creating a job

Job History List displays submitted jobs Preview of all pages when submitting jobs Jobs can be saved as drafts before submitting
21

Local Client - Offline Capture Capability

Continuous use in environments with high network latency Auto Synchronization

Improves productivity of

distributed workers
Full functionality Scanning & document

editing
Address book look ups Browsing: Folders & SharePoint Queue jobs Users can install the Local Client themselves, or administrators can

deploy it to users with a group policy object (GPO)

22

Local Client Synchronization

The local client will synchronize data with the server when: The user logs in

The user submits a document

Periodically in the background (5 min)

Disconnected local client will reserve a thin client license for 7

days
Logging in while connected to the KFS server will extend the

license reservation automatically

23

Disconnected Local Client

When disconnected, local clients can be used for offline scanning

and indexing jobs for Kofax Capture shortcuts

Validation scripts are run on Kofax Capture server If disconnected, users will need to save their jobs and submit

when they are reconnected to the server

Not recommended for submitting jobs to other destination types if

disconnected

Cannot be used with Oracle

24

Updated Admin Console

Scan and export settings that can be unique for

each shortcut and destination

Support for adding custom

icons to shortcuts and destinations

Settings tabs that enables

administrators to configure options within the Administration Console instead of editing text files

to delete user data from KFS

25

Additional Destinations - Dynamic Ad-hoc Scanning

In addition to Kofax Capture and other Kofax Front Office Server

users, documents can be sent directly from Kofax Front Office Server to these destinations (does not consume KC Page Volume):
Microsoft SharePoint Supports SharePoint 2010, 2007 & Office 365 Folders on network drives Visual browse folder destinations Email (Exchange and SMTP) Fax servers (KCS, RightFax, and BISCOM) The only product in the market to support both Integrated

Touchless Processing and Dynamic ad-hoc scanning

Capturing Documents Best Practices

Capturing Documents Best Practices

Avoid using flash, which can wash out part of the image. Use good, even lighting to get a faster shot without blur.

Hold camera steady and check the lighting before taking a photo.
Avoid shadows. Avoid wrinkled pages or upturned corners if they include data. Avoid a background that looks too much like the image itself. Avoid a background containing data that could be interpreted as

image data.
Rectangular overhead camera shots are best.
Document should fit into the shown rectangle
