People who eat a lot of red and processed meat should consider cutting down. On the flip side, there are always benefits to eating the meats even processed meat, but i think in this case the negatives out weigh the positives when it comes to processed meat.
In the news this week is the early death link with sausage, ham, bacon and other similar processed meat. A study was carried out over half a million Europeans and the results were that these foods increase the risk of having an early grave! It concluded diets high in processed meats were linked to cardiovascular disease, cancer and early deaths.
Fresh meat going through a mincer does not make it processed meat.
Its all about what has been added to the meat or what process has occurred to prolong its shelf life! Sometimes the processes also enhance taste. Even your best quality hams, sausages and meats were still under the umbrella of processed so, my question is, where can you get these kind of meats that arent processed?!
