Course Outcomes Upon completion of the this course, students will be able to thoroughly understand the current practice

and its limitations, and some appreciation of likely new developments. This would give them extensive knowledge and understanding of a wide range of engineering applications and technologies. Students will develop the ability to apply engineering techniques taking account of a range of commercial and industrial constraints by understanding of appropriate codes of practice and industry standards and will be able to work with technical uncertainty. The traits that seem to characterize electronics engineering technology students of DTU is that they enjoy the hands-on experience in projects incorporated in the curriculum. Students of this department are associated with industrial projects sponsored by DRDO and DST and workshops on Embedded System design using Renesas based upon RL78 and RX200 and Pattern recognition and soft computing in association with Texas instruments and National instruments As part of the Technology, Education & Design Education curriculum Department plans to have more center of excellence in the field of robotics, machine vision and medical electronics etc so that students could examine appropriate measurement, analysis and simulation tools to make informed decisions thereby explore the contributions of Electronics and communication engineering for developing and sustaining our designed world. Key learning outcomes basically focuses on the following points: Students are encouraged to use a wide range of skills to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical situations Learning engineering through project and problem based applications. Responsibilities of the professional engineer Designing the society specific projects and products Execute a long-term investigation, which involves a structured approach to indepth problem solving, planning, progress reporting and project management with regard to constraints of time, budget and available resources. Construct prototype hardware and/or computer programmes to the design select and demonstrate with the use of laboratory . Finally our course outcome objective could be assessed by the following achievements : Establishment of sponsored Laboratories & Research centers, namely, Embedded System Lab with Freescale, VLSI & Mentor Graphics Lab and ST Micro-electronics lab Joint research Lab with Hitech-Robotics and Texas Instruments. MoU with INTEL.( Intel has sponsored free laboratory at the department.)

Number of Research consultancy projects with TBRL(DRDO) , SAG (DRDO) Delhi Metro for R & D Assistance and Ministry of IT for developing Ultra Sound machines and ECG Machines Workshops on Embedded Systems sponsored by VxWorks(WindRiver) and Synopsis Students orientation Programme by Prof Sanjeev Singh from Carnegie Mellon University Joint research with the reputed industries like ST MicroElectronics and Hitech Robotics Workshop on Pattern Recognition and Soft Computing with the resource persons from DTU, IIT Delhi, Texas Instruments, Hitech Robotics etc
