Assalamualaikum Dr.Ratna, this is my answer for your second forum: 1. My name is Rashdan bin Abd.

Rahman , Matric number 1022191 Tesl 2 Sec 11 2. I am teaching at Sekolah Menengah Agama Rembau 3. Sekolah Menengah Agama Rembau is located at Rembau town,in the district of Negeri Sembilan. 4. I have been teaching for 13 years. 5. But,this is my second year teaching English language,as I am is a science and mathematics teacher originally. 6. My perceptions of my students in learning English is that majority of them are not interested to learn. They looked bored, passive and their mark in their exam prove it.From my observation,I can say that is some reason behind of their behaviour about English subject.First,I think it is coused of my lack of experience teaching English subject.I can say that I am a baby in teaching this subject but a young man in teaching science and mathematics. This coused my teaching looked boring and stiff to my student.Secondly,I might their thought about English subject is not really important to them as they are religious student and might further their study in Arabic language at university. But,there are some students that show a good performance in this subject. It shows by their liveliness when learning this subject. They are active in taking part of question and answer session, their wideness of vocabulary and can speak in good pronounciation. 7. I had asked one of my student about his performance in last test.He is failed in the last test and this is the student that his father,in meeting of PIBG,want me to teach not only in English but also in Malay in order to make his son understand my teaching. So,my student replied to me that he is not interested to learn English because he found it as hard to learn. And,his lower marks is normal to him because it is same as when he is at primary school. When I know about it, I had advice him about how importance to learn English in nowadays as it is global language.I had said to him mastery of the english language is very important when we are in the realm of employment, social relationships and status in society. 8. Teaching English to Malay students is difficult because their perspectives on the subject .In addition Malay culture is not the same with English culture that is sometimes difficult for them to understand the situation of the word. It is a herculean task for me to make English the language preferred by them. That is why I need to further diversify my teaching methods so that they are more fun to learn this language
