Session 1
1. Please tell me about your educational background? I have done B.A and LLB. 2. Please tell me about your experience as an advocate? When you were recruited? I became advocate of Subordinate court in April 1979. 3. To what extent, you like to be an advocate? Definitely I like it because it was a thoughtfully selected profession by me. My aim was to support and help those who are innocent and source less. 4. Did you receive any training on gender related topics? If yes, what were the topics covered in training? I have not received any particular and specific training for it but have attended different seminars and in it I have my personal study in it. 5. If you had training, what did you learn from training? 6. If you attended training, how it is useful for your work?

Session 2
1. Please tell me about the cases you deal with as an advocate? I deal all the cases in general. They are civil as well as criminal. 2. How many cases are you hearing these days? Their number is more than 200. 3. From among the cases you are hearing these days, how many relate to gender based violence? Not more than 10 cases.

Session 3
1. Do you think that gender based violence cases are drafted well by the police? No. I dont think so. My experience tells me that there are some considerable reasons due to which police dont follow the rules and regulation to do impartial reporting in all cases including gender related ones. Some of the reasons are insincerity, corruption, political pressure and non professionalism and it is due to no training. 2. If no, kindly tell me the problems in police reporting of the crime? The above mentioned are the chief problems. And you can count the lack of proper funds and as well as unreasonable salaries. 3. What would you say about the police investigation of gender based violence? Same problems persist in GBV. 4. What kind of difficulties arises for the courts due to problems in police investigation?

Well, our courts do justice and finalize cases on the basis of papers and documents as put forward by police and advocates. I can say that police makes discrimination between powerful and powerless, between poor and rich while preparing reports of crimes. Due to corruption, political interference and the other reasons as I mentioned you earlier, our courts and we ourselves are unable and feel many difficulties to provide and dispense justice to our clients. 5. What kind of facilities do you have at your disposal during the trials of gender based violence cases? Reasonable, I am satisfied with them. 6. Do you face any difficulties during the trials of gender based violence cases? What are those difficulties? Not at all. 7. Do you face political interference as an advocate? Not such as.

Session 4
1. Kindly suggest some ways to improve police reporting of gender based violence cases? The reasons that I mentioned before should be removed. 2. Kindly suggest some ways to improve police investigation of gender based violence cases? They must have proper and time to time training and all the recruitment in police must be made on pure merit. 3. Kindly suggest us some ways to improve the work of courts to dispense justice in the cases of gender based violence? Well, I think that we have reasonable laws to solve GBV cases in the shape of Family laws, resolution of marriage e.t.c. But as we know most of our laws were made by British government and they are too old. Therefore, they should be amended according to current requirements and they also be adapted with Quraan and Sunnah.
