Grade 6.

Past Perfect Tense (Sempurna Selesai Lampau)

Past Perfect Tense adalah bentuk waktu yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu kejadian (perbuatan) di masa lalu yang sempurna selesai sebelum perbuatan lain dilakukan. Tanda Waktu (Tanda Signal) yang biasa dipergunakan dalam Past Perfect Tense adalah: before (sebelum) -- past perfect before past tense

after (sesudah) -- past tense after past perfect until (hingga) -- past tense until past perfect as soon as (secepat) -- past tense as soon as past perfect

Contoh: 1). She had left home when her mother called her. Dia telah meninggalkan rumah ketika ibunya memanggilnya. They had opened the door before the guest came. Mereka telah membuka pintu sebelum kamu datang. When he got home, his friends had waited for him. Ketika ia sampai di rumah, teman-temannya telah menunggunya. Before I helped her, she had fallen down. Sebelum saya menolongnya, dia sudah terjatuh. The patient had died before the doctor checked him up. Pasien tersebut sudah meninggal sebelum dokter memeriksa dia.

Past Continous Tense dalam Bentuk Kalimat Tanya (Interrogative)


Jika hendak membuat kalimat tanya, maka had diletakkan di depan Subject. Contoh: 1). Had I swabed the floor when you arrived? Apakah kamu sudah mengepel lantai ketika kamu tiba? Had she left her house before you reached? Apakah dia sudah meninggalkan rumahnya sebelum kamu sampai? Had we sprayed the flower when he came? Apakah kami sudah menyemprot bunga itu ketika dia datang?

Past Continous Tense dalam Bentuk Kalimat Menyangkal (Negative)


Jika hendak membuat kalimat menyangkal, maka ditambahkan not di belakang had. Contoh: 1). She had not left her house before you reached. Dia belum meninggalkan rumahnya sebelum kamu sampai. You had not paid your debt before I gave you money. Kamu belum membayar hutangmu sebelum saya memberimu uang. I had not swabed the floor when you arrived. Saya belum mengepel lantai ketika kamu tiba.

A BIRTHDAY PARTY I ATTENDED


Last Saturday afternoon, I attended my cousin Lailas birthday party. I brought along a present which I had bought from Gunung Agung. It was an English story book. When I reached there, my other cousins and relatives had arrived. Lailas cousins from his mothers said had also been there. There was a big birthday cake on the table together with lots of delicious food. When other guests just arrived, we had gathered around the table and singing the song Happy Birthday. Then my cousin blew out the candles. H After that, my cousin cut the cake with her mothers help. Everyone was given a piece. Birthday cake it was very delicious. Then we helped ourselves to take the food and drink on the table. We also played a number of games. Photographs were also taken. All of us enjoyed ourselves very much at the party. Before I went home, my cousins mother had separated some cakes for me to bring along.

SEBUAH PESTA ULANG TAHUN YANG SAYA HADIRI


[Pada Sabtu sore lalu, saya menghadiri pesta ulang tahun sepupuku Laila. Saya membawa sebuah hadiah yang telah saya beli dari Gunung Agung. Itu adalah buku cerita bahasa Inggris. Ketika saya sampai di sana, sepupu saya yang lain dan kerabat telah tiba. Sepupu Laila dari ibunya mengatakan juga sudah ada di sana. Ada sebuah kue ulang tahun yang besar bersama-sama dengan banyak makanan yang lezat. Ketika tamu lain baru tiba, kami telah berkumpul di sekitar meja dan menyanyikan sebuah lagu Happy Birthday. Kemudian sepupu saya H meniup lilin-lilin.
