Compare/Contrast essay between human geography of U.S.A and U.K .

The population is a result of development of one countries economy, demography and social status and a lot of other characteristics .The population number also depend on ecological situation from one to another country. The population is a very variable theme which gives us a big opportunity in writing a contrast/compare essay in accordance to similarities as: the immigrants, the religious freedom, the unequal distribution and also in accordance to differences as: the number of population, the official language and the age of population. First step which will be followed by us is to present some strong similarities from the point of view of human geography between U.S.A and U.K. So, one of the similarities is the immigrants. Multiculturalism is a very usual characteristic of one developed and powerful country. And it also can be a result of immigration. For example U.K saw an increase of immigration after the World War II; these newcomers have added variety to British culture, influenced tastes food, music and religion. That why they have made the U.K one of the most multicultural country in the world. Also the U.S.As immigrants have added much richness to American culture, affected education and make U.S.A as a quilt or a mosaic, in which many individual pieces make up the whole but still remain unique. The second one is the religious freedom. The U.K and U.S.A are two countries with a multifaith society .For example in U.K there are religious such as: Christianity, Catholics, Presbyterian, Hindu, Jewish and Muslim. But in U.S.A there are: Christianity, Catholics, Protestant and many others. So everyone is up to choose what kind of religious way to follow that is very good for people not to change their established features. The third is the unequal distribution of population which is an evident similarity in both countries. Actually we cannot find to countries from the world with the same distribution of the population. That is why in U.Ks population is distributed England has the highest density of population and Scotland the lowest. The most populated cities are: London, Yorkshire, and Glasgow. But the densely populated cities of U.S.A are New York Newark, Los Angeles-Long Beach, Santa Ana, Chicago, Miami and Washington. Almost of people select only suitable places for their living with a lot of opportunities and this is a factor which resulted not equal distribution of population throw all terrain. The other sides of our essay belong to differences .The first difference is a number of population .U.S.A count about 313,847,465 people according to July 2012 but U.K is 62,698,362 people according to July estimation which ranks U.K on the 22nd place in terms of

population size. The number of population directly depend on the size of terrain which one country has that why every country count its own number of population. The second difference is the official language. As we all know that the U.K has a big variety of spoken languages however these big number the official language is considered to be English spoken by 95% as a first language. The U.S.A does not have an official language although English is spoken by almost people there. It is because of the large number of people from Latin America and Spanish is considered as the second most common language. To choose one official language it is very hard when in one country is a big number of diversity of spoken languages as a result one country has it another no. And the last difference is the age of population which is also called medium age. In the U.K it is for female -41,1years and for male-38.8 years. But in U.S.A for female-38, 2 and also for male-35.6.This is the result of many reasons for example climate, life expectancy, way of life, and a lot of other causes. In conclusion we can say that we count all the most important similarities: : the immigrants, the religious freedom, the unequal distribution and also in accordance to differences as: the number of population, the official language and the age of population in a way to understand better the human geography of U.S.A and U.K.
