They are not powered by the mechanical energy we input to the shaft of a generator, or by the chemical energy in a battery.Thomas E. Bearden The theory that so-called empty space is actually a vibrant ocean of energy makes perfect sense and seems self-evident to some of us. There really is no other explanation for how billions of stars obtain the power to continuously put out prodigious amounts of heat and light for, what appears to be, indefinite periods of time. In the face of this, to argue that the universe is just a vacuum of dead nothingness is almost as senseless as contending that the eart h is flat even though the sun rises and sets every day. And yet, the worldwide scientific community, men and women of high intelligence and tremendous cumulative knowledge, refuses to acknowledge that this could be so. Even when it is clearly demonstrated, as it was by Dr. T. H enry M oray, they assume it to be some sort of trickery or fraud, and they return to stale scientific dogma. In the early 1920s, M oray, who was a boyhood admirer of N ikola Tesla, built a free-energy device, weighing about sixty pounds with no apparent power input, that produced 50,000 watts of electricity for several hours. M oray, from Salt Lake City, obtained his doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the U niversity of U ppsala in Sweden in 1918 . By the 1930s, M oray had perfected his invention and was able to demonstrate, in test af ter test, that the device delivered high voltage electrical power simply by tapping ambient energy. In a well-documented and photographed demonstration, M orays R adiant Energy Device powered 35 100-watt light bulbs and a 1200-watt iron. M orays highly publicized demonstrations to scientists, engineers, and government representatives convinced them all that M oray had succeeded in tapping an invisible, universal sea of energy. The R adiant Energy Device utilized 29 transistor-like, cold vacuum tube valves, or one-way gates, that trapped the energy and accumulated it until it reached a high wattage. Despite all of the publicity surrounding this device, the U .S. Patent Office never granted him a patent. M oray met with constant opposition. H e was frequently threatened; his laboratory was broken into and robbed, and he was actually shot at in the streets and in his own office. H e eventually installed bullet-proof glass in his automobile, and he kept a loaded gun in plain view on his desk when meeting with strangers.

Sp a ce- T im e One of the theoretical keys to the understanding of the R adiant Energy Device was the work of H ermann M inkowski, a brilliant German mathematician. It was M inkowski who, in 1907, created the mathematical framework that brought space and time together and evolved the concept of space-time. M inkowski was inspired by Einsteins 1905 Theory of Special R elativity and realized that Special R elativity required an entirely new definition of the relationship between space and time. H e was able to prove mathematically that time is a fourth dimension of space, and he hypothesized a four-dimensional space-time continuum. This revolutionized Galileos flat view of space-time in which only simultaneous events were on the same plane in space-time, and substituted a space-time, non-Euclidian cone in which event timing is relative to the observer while the speed of light remains a constant. Einstein then, in 1908 , using M inkowskis framework, developed the Theory of General R elativity, which is now universally accepted, and has become the foundation of modern physics. The Einstein-M inkowski framework of space-time supersedes the Galilean concept of Absolute Time. Time now becomes relative, and time and space become interdependent; and it becomes possible to convert one to the other. As the fourth dimension of space, time has its own axis in a M inkowski Diagram. The Einstein-M inkowski space-time theory was largely built upon the M axwell Equations. This set of four equations developed by James Clerk M axwell in 18 65 were mathematical formulations of the behavior of electromagnetic waves in a vacuum. M axwell was the first to include light waves and photons in the electromagnetic spectrum, and he proved mathematically that all electromagnetic radiation moved at the speed of light. Thus, this constant became an integral component of Einsteins famous formulation, E=mc2, where c is the speed of light. About M axwell, Einstein said, The precise formulation of the time-space laws was the work of M axwell. Imagine his feelings when the differential equations he had formulated proved to him that electromagnetic fields spread in the form of polarized waves, and at the speed of light! To few men in the world has such an experience been vouchsafed . . it took physicists some decades to grasp the full significance of M axwells discovery, so bold was the leap that his genius forced upon the conceptions of his fellow-workers. (Science , M ay 24,1940). It should be noted here that both M axwell and M inkowski were mathematical theoreticians and made their proofs strictly with pure mathematics. It was up to Einstein to translate their results to the realm of physics. Einsteins formulas have been demonstrated in the real world many times, although nowhere as dramatically as in the development of atomic energy. T h e T im e D o m a in Dr. M oray achieved his results, more or less, by trial and error and wasnt really knowledgeable about the M inkowskiM axwell-Einstein theoretical developments. But, he eventually came to virtually the same conclusions. In his book, The Sea of Energy in Which the Earth Floats, he concludes that the free energy from the cosmos comes in waves or oscillations, and he was able to tune his device to harmonize with these os cillations and that was the secret of capturing the energy. Every oscillation, he says, whether large or small, is completed during the same interval of time. These oscillations all prove the same great fact, that they are governed by the same cycle of time, completed during the same interval of time. Waves of energy have a regular beat note, coming and going as the waves of the sea, but in a very definite mathematical order (M axwells?)coming to t he earth from every direction with a definite rhythm. F or energy waves to be propagated through a vacuum rhythmically implies that they are going through some sort of medium where time is the dominant factor, since space is known to be totally devoid of mass. M oray called it the luminiferous medium of the universe. The rhythmic oscillations would suggest that the energy from the vacuum is actually coming from what is called the time domain. Then it is transduced to the spatial dimension through M orays device and therefore able to do physical work. Thus, the s pace-time theories of M axwell, M inkowski, and Einstein would appear to be validated. R o g u e Scien tis ts Since the late F orties, the related research and development, in this country, was largely taken over by militaryindustrial organizations and remains secret, as with the M anhattan Project. It became what Paul LaViolette refers to as classified physics. So it has been left to what might be called rogue scientis ts, outside the scientific establishment and not able to benefit from the tremendous resources of big budget corporate-university R &D and colleague fellowship, to bring these theories down to earth and before the public. These are the scientist pioneers we must now rely on to make this Buck R ogers R &D of practical use in civilian applications. Probably the most prominent of these researchers is Thomas E. Bearden, whose theoret ical work builds on M inkowski-M axwell-Einstein as well as outside the box thinkers such as Dr. M oray. Bearden is a retired Army Lt. Colonel. H is Curriculum Vitae on his website says that he is a theoretical conceptualist active in the study of scalar electromagnetics, advanced electrodynamics, unified field theory, KGB energetics weapons and phenomena, free energy systems, electromagnetic healing via the unified field action of extended Sachs-Evans electrodynamics, and human development. (H e is) Particularly known for his work establishing a theory of overunity electrical power systems, scalar electromagnetic weapons, energetics weapons, and the use of time-as-energy in both power systems and the mind-body interaction. Bearden is also the Director of the Associat ion of Distinguished American Scientists. This organization claims to be attempting to unify the major disciplines of science, namely classical EM (CEM ), general relativity (GR ), and quantum mechanics (QM ).

Bearden came to scientific and public attention in 198 0 with the publication of his first book, The Excalibur Briefing (Strawberry H ill Press, 1978 , Paperback). This was a brilliant, groundbreaking work that basically explains most paranormal phenomena in terms of a new physics based on a scientific exploration of the virtual state, or in Einsteinian terms, the time domain of space-time. In this book, Bearden shows how interactions between the two dimensions account for what appear to be miraculous manifestations. In Part One, Bearden takes on such diverse phenomena as remote viewing, the Crystal Skull, mental metal bending, thought photography, psychotronics, U F Os, men-in-black, dowsing, Kirlian Photography, foo fighters, and cattle mutilations! Then, in Part Two, he gives the theoretical foundations of all these phenomena in terms of the virtual state, or what he then called hyperspace, a term then in vogue because it was used in Star Wars. It could be said that in this book, Bearden succeeded in conceptualizing the miraculous by removing all the layers of mystery. Since it appeared at roughly the same time as Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain by Ostrander and Schroeder (Prentice-H all, 1970), the two books, taken together, could be viewed as a revolutionary revelation of a new science explaining the invisible powerhouse of energy behind previously inexplicable phenomena. Consequently, the early Eighties became a turning point in the public understanding of what could be called the science of magic. E= tc2 F or 20 years after The Excalibur Briefing , Bearden continued to refine his research, experimentation, and theorization. Then, in 2004, he released the most comprehensive and detailed exposition of his concepts in his 977-page magnum opus, Energy from the Vacuum (Cheniere Press, 2004). In this book, Bearden theorizes a new model of thermodynamic interaction in which time becomes a factor. H e says that the time dimension, on the fourth M inkowski axis, has the same energy density as mass. Then he enunciates a radically new concept, comparable to Einsteins famous formula. H e says, M ultiplying an amount of time t (in seconds) by c2 gives the decompressed spatial energy E that the time t will transduce into. In short, E = tc2 also. This idea that the energy potential from the time domain is identical to the energy that can be derived from the conversion of mass by E = mc2 is revolutionary. It means that energy releases comparable to atomic explosions can be achieved simply by transducing time, if we knew how. Bearden says that according to Special R elativity, there is an inverse relationship between mass-energy and time-energy. In his words, When the mass-energy increases (e.g., as a function of velocity), time dilates or decreas-esIf mass (3-space) gains some 3-spatial energy, then time loses some time-energy. Since time is spatial EM energy compacted by c2 , then the relativistic energy changes in the time domain are enormously greater than the corresponding relativistic changes in spatial energy in the photon. That is, by his formula, E=tc2, a negligible amount of time energy transduces to a massive amount of spatial energy by a factor of c2. So the energy given off by any star has been transduced from a tiny reservoir of invisible energy, where the visible energy equals the invisible energy times 18 6,000 ft./sec.squared! Bearden says that this is a constant, ongoing process in the universe. Time continually dilates, or moves backwards, in order to produce spatial energy. Bearden claims that this process can be engineered on demand by the use of a simple oscillating electric dipole. The negative pole of the dipole attracts the EM energy from the time domain and supplies the energy that is then transmitted to the positive pole. The EM energy is sent back to the vacuum from the positive pole, thus circulating between 3-space and 4-space. Bearden explains it this way: Once the dipole is established, it will extract and transduce EM energy from the vacuum and pour it out in all directions at the speed of light, without ceasingR eal observable EM energy extracted and transduced from the vacuums virtual energy is precisely what the broken symmetry of the opposite charges on the ends of the dipole means. Bearden and his colleagues have developed an experimental device utilizing these principles called the M otionless Electromagnetic Generator, or M EG, which is an overunity device; i.e. it puts out more energy than it takes in. It has no moving parts. The M EG was granted a U .S. patent on M arch 26, 2002. According to Beardens website, they have recently achieved a 100:1 ratio of energy-out to energy-in. They are now engaged in a cooperative research project with a friendly foreign nation to develop and market commercial power systems for that nation, based on the M EG. There is no way to know how this device compares with M orays R adiant Energy Device because M oray took the secret of the valve to his grave. When his son John recently sought to retrieve M orays patent application papers from the U .S. Patent Office, he found that the folder jackets were still there, but they were empty. The specifications papers themselves were gone. T im e En g in eerin g In a paper titled, Vision 2000: The N ew Science N ow Emerging for the N ew M illenium, written in 2000 for a conference, Bearden discusses the fact that the original 20 M axwell Equations were reduced by Oliver H eaviside in the 18 90s to just 4, excluding what is called the nondiverged energy flow in the vacuum, and leaving only vector based energy, commonly used in modern electronics. Bearden claims that when these excluded formulas are restored, it becomes possible to engineer the time domain.

In the paper he says. Time-as-energy eventually becomes engineerable, as easily as is spatial energy now. We are always dealing with space-time and with space-time curvature. Any spatial energy flow must be accompanied with a change in energy flow in the time domain, a priori. This is accomplished by capturing and directing the longitudinal EM waves that proliferate in the vacuum when space-time becomes curved. These waves do not exist in 3-space, where only transverse electromagnetic waves are utilized. The potential uses for such controlled usage of longitudinal EM waves boggles the mind. Bearden says, matter is a vast superhighway for longitudinal EM wavesthe ultimate transparency. An astounding thing emerges: These new causal robotic systems of the future will travel right through the superhighway interior of EM fields and waves and potentials, and thus right through enormous amounts of matter. They can travel through a beam of light, a radio signal, a radar beam, etc. They can communicate with us and be controlled by longitudinal EM waves. They can reside in any EM field, potential, or wave in a human body, a piece of wood, a piece of copper, the ionosphere, or the sun. By mid-century we will be using such robotic sys tems to explore the interior of the earth, other planets, the interior of the sun, asteroids, space junk, etc. Development of these space-time EM technologies will revolutionize life on earth. Bearden says, Even the poorest developing nation can afford the self-powering electrical power systems that will result in the immediate future. Then the resulting progress of those struggling societies will be rapid indeed, with cheap clean energy available at their disposal. Infrastructures can be built very quickly. Strong attention can be focused on clean drinking water, medical treatment, plentiful food, and other health problems, and on education of the masses .
