Installation Notes
You must have EMC ControlCenter installed before you apply Patch 4718 which upgrades the following ControlCenter components. Solutions Enabler 7.1 for ControlCenter Media Repository
ECC_SE71.exe contains a download for EMC Solutions Enabler 7.1 that allows you to load it into the ControlCenter media repository for remote deployment. For information on new features for Solutions Enabler 7.1 refer to EMC Solutions Enabler V7.1 Release Notes available on the EMC Powerlink website, http://powerlink.emc.com

Please note when pushing the SE MRLK kit to AIX hosts, be aware that AIX SE installs no longer allow custom install paths. Entering a custom path into the dialog box will have no effect on the install path /opt/emc. Selecting next will allow you to continue the install. Please note when using the 7.1 MRLK to upgrade a previously installed version of SE on a host with SE dependant Agents, you must first stop those agents from the ECC console prior to upgrading any Agent. Also to be noted ALL SE related processes and daemons must be stopped prior to installing SE. Please note when pushing the SE 7.1 MRLK kit to a host that has CLARiiON Agent installed, You must first Install the MRLK 7.1 prior to applying patches or upgrading agents.

Patch Application Details Hotfix Installation

Hotfix Installation 1. Download and unzip the CC_4718.zip to a temporary directory on the ControlCenter Server host.

Stop the ControlCenter Server and Store services Important: Do not stop the following services, a connection to the Repository is required to install the hotfix: OracleECCREP_HOMETNSListner OracleServiceRAMBDB Do the following to stop the ControlCenter services a) Stop the ControlCenter Store service on all hosts running a store b) Stop the ControlCenter Server service c) Wait until the Server and Store services are completely stopped. This can take 3-5 minutes. Verify that they have stopped in the Windows Task Manager (in the Processes tab, look for ECCService_Store and ECCService_Server.

To push out the new Solutions Enabler 7.1 to hosts, follow the instructions below:
1. Using the ControlCenter Console Agent Administration Wizard, stop all agents that are running on the agent hosts where Solutions Enabler 7.1 is to be deployed. Use the Console Agent Administration Wizard; install Solutions Enabler 7.1.0.0 on the desired agent hosts. Start the previously stopped agents.
