March 24-30

Welcome We continue to learn about How Church Works with the topicHow to Bow. Tonight might be a good night to have worship in your HG. Use CDs, play the guitar or sing a cappella. Plan ahead & provide the words for your group. Opening Prayer Father, worship is not just something we do on Sunday mornings at church...it is the overflow of our lives given to You & for Your praise! Open our eyes, our ears & our hearts tonight, so that we might love You & praise You more & more!

Become
Family Time A) Kids are great worshippers because theyre less concerned about their appearance & what others think of them. Theyre focused on Jesus! Choose fun worship songs to sing. Fun, clapping, songs! Their enthusiasm might just rub off! B) Think of words that describe God. Pass out note cards & pencils & ask everyone to write down those words. Then get a poster board & ask them to shout out their words one at a time as you write them down. Use different colored markers & different size words...make it beautiful! When youre done, youll have a beautiful collage that shows the power & glory of God. End this with a group prayer, praising God for who He is! Kids Time A) *Go outside for this activity. Lets have a cheering contest! Divide into teams. Have them come up with the most outstanding, loudest, craziest cheer. Do cartwheels, jump & holler, break dance, whatever...just be safe. When they put on their cheers, the other teams cheer & applaud for them. Everyone wins! Now, read Psalm 95:1-7 & Psalm 98:4-9. How GREAT is our God!! Lets give our greatest cheer for Him!! Adult Time A) I love going to the Ballpark! I love to watch people...maybe even more that watching the game. The place is packed with fans who fully give themselves to support, applaud & praise 9 guys on a field who throw, hit & chase a ball around a field for 3 hours. Why are we more likely to stand & cheer at a ballgame than during a worship service? What are some things that get in the way of our praise & worship? B) Most of the Psalms were meant to be read aloud to Gods people as they worshipped God. Lets read these Psalms aloud (have several people read them) but, lets NOT just read it like the morning paper...read like a rallying cry. Gods Word is not just information to be passed on...its the LIVING WORD OF GOD, the Creator of all things! It takes our focus off of us & rightly places our attention on the King of Kings & Lord of Lords! Gods Word should be read with passion as we praise & glorify our God! (You might even have praise music playing in the background as you read.) Here are the passages: Psalm 8; Psalm 9:7-11; Psalm 18:1-3; Psalm 19:1-11; Psalm 29; Psalm 100. End in prayer & praise! Prayer Time Lord, we want our entire lives to be holy sacrifices that are pleasing to you. You are worthy of all our praise, adoration, attention & worship! Forgive us for turning our hearts to worthless things & losing our focus on Your majesty & Your glory! We look forward to one day, standing in Your presence with all the saints & pouring out our souls in honor of You! Give us a hunger to worship You more!
