Last month we left a name off the list. We apologize for that and if you know of anyone we may have missed, please let us know. To our surprise, our nine year old grandson, Caleb, has taken the challenge of reading through his Bible. He started three weeks ago and is in II Chronicles. I have questioned him about the content he has read and he is quick to tell me the stories he has read. He wants to be the youngest to read through his Bible. Most of our grandchildren have read through their Bibles, but I believe Caleb is the youngest. Challenge your children, you will be surprised what they can do.
ADDED NAMES TO THOSE WHO HAVE READ THROUGH THEIR BIBLES PATSY RAGLAND
I love good books! A friend gave me some books last week to add to our library (3,000 books). I was looking through the books and found a book marked, The true story behind the poem that inspired millions, Footprints. It began with a most interesting story of their troubles. The couple were full time Childrens workers and they were home for a days rest when their daughter called and asked them to help her take some children for an outing in Golden Ears park and picnic at the Lower Falls. It was just 10 miles away and they agreed to help her. The daughter told her mother to bring her swimsuit and wear her dress over it. She dressed quickly and threw on the top she had wore the day before, which later she learned, that in her pocket were her husbands heart pills and extra strength Tylenol.

(Continued from page 1) WHO SHALL SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD?
It means, forgiving as Christ forgave you, while you were yet a sinner. Forgiveness does not remove the penalty from a persons wrong. It means you leave it with God, the righteous judge, and you love them because Christ loved them and gave His life for them (as well as for you). Gloria and I have had to fight to keep our love warm toward one another these 53 years. We daily battle our flesh and therefore we will always have to fight to keep a godly love for one another. Some days we dont like each other and it is on those days that our love for the Lord brings us back into the spirit and keeps us from doing damage to one another. Are we always successful? No! Many times we have to apologize to God and to each other, but we have learned not to wait or linger about making things right with one another. We practice the verse, Let not the sun go down upon thy wrath. We take care of business before we lay down to sleep. Doing right feels so good. Why would we wait to do it? You may remember Little George Havens and his wife Lucy. Little George Havens went to be with the Lord some years ago, but Mrs. Lucy still is living and serving the Lord with all her might. Little George was very short and Mrs. Lucy was rather tall. Bro. Roloff would have Little George to preach for him on the radio and because of his size, his voice sounded like a woman. Bro. Roloff would get letters asking what he was doing letting a woman preach. Little George and Mrs. Lucy were great servants of the Lord. Someone ask Little George one day if he and Mrs. Lucy ever argued. Little George said, No! We dont argue. But sometimes you can hear us reasoning things out for a couple of blocks. No marriage is without differences, but we can live in peace if we work at keeping unity with one another. What has happened to our America, where family members are killing each other in large numbers every day. When did we start hating and quit loving one another? Why is it we can forgive everybody except those we live with? The people in the world are not effected that much by whether we love or hate them. But those we live with at home are effected daily by our actions. When a family member says something unlovely, it goes straight to the bottom of the heart. No one can hurt your life like a family member can. Why do we act ugly to one another?
Matt 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Love never fails! Prophesy, tongues and knowledge will cease, but love will go all the way to glory with us. There will never be a time or a place where love will not be. For God is love, and God is everywhere.
It is by love that others know that we are disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lets commit this year to learn all we can about loving as Christ loved us. Love covers a multitude of sins! Who are we suppose to love? We are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, our minds, our strength, our soul and all that is within us. We are to love our neighbor as ourselves and we are to love our enemies. I think that covers everyone. The only way we can fullfil this command is to be sure that our first love is the Lord our God, then loving everyone else will just come natural.
Rom 8:33-39 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of Gods elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ----Editor
This is why our love has grown cold toward one another! Iniquity is perverted thinking. It is truth and a lie mixed together, or you might say good and evil mixed together. We have been eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil instead of the tree of life! Purity and righteousness brings warm love! The body of Christ has become so much like the world that the world has no example of the Light and the Life of Christ. Christ said, If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. Cold love does not lift up Christ to a lost world. Would you say that your home is a good example of godly love? Do YOU live a godly love in your home? We cant make everyone do right, but we must not let others convince us to do anything less than God has commanded us to do. Do you remember the little chorus, This little light of mine? Does your little light shine with a warm love toward your family and loved ones?

When they arrived at the park, her husband warned everyone that the rocks would be slippery and to be careful. There was a forty-foot-deep glacier pool to one side. The ladys husband elected to stay on the other side of the glacier pool to study for a sermon and the others crossed the slipery rocks. After awhile, the daughter decided to cross over to where her daddy was. She was almost to him (he was holding out his hand) when she slipped. There was a sixty-eight-foot falls on one side and the forty-foot-glacier on the other. The daughter fell into a whirlpool of water and it sucked her into its vortex, spinning her around three times and before anyone could help, she was spun out and over the falls. Everyone was screaming. The mother glanced across at her husband and saw him cluth his chest and fall. He was having a heart attact. The mother saw she couldnt help her daughter and thought she was surely dead. She was fearful to walk across the rocks to her husband, so she decided to swim the icy water to get to him. As she started for the water, she heard a voice from where her husband was saying, I am throwing you a rope to help you cross. His wife was a nurse, who was at that very moment administering aid to her husband. As the woman was swimming to her husband she fell on a rock and broke her arm. Below the falls two young men saw her daughters body in the water and brought her to shore. There was a nurse there (sister to the nurse helping husband) and she was able to revive the daughter. One of the young men was a long-distance runner and immediately went for help. Four hours later they were at the hospital and their lives were saved. The swim suit, the rope, the two nurses, the pills, Tylenol and the young runner was Gods preparations. At the hospital a nurse prayed with the husband and read him a poem. That poem had been written 20 yrs. earlier by his wife and had been lost in a move. The book is a story about the lose of the poem and was published in 1998 by Margaret Fishback Powers, HarperSanFrancisco.

Did you ever try to tell someone the heartache you were bearing and you felt they didnt understand at all? As bad as they might want to hear and as bad as you might want them to hear, it still did not work. Thats not so with Christ. He hears and He knows what you are talking about. But better yet, He cares what you are bearing and what it is doing to your life. HE CARES for us. What is it that we are looking for when we go to prayer? We are looking for mercy, grace (acceptance) and provisions. If the Lord shows mercy and grace, we know that we have found favour in His sight and that He is listening to our cry. When you begin to pray, stop, ask yourself if you feel in your spirit that you have found mercy and grace. If not, ask yourself what is in your heart that could be holding that back. Begin by getting your heart right with God. God responds to the heart of man! We must acknowledge the holiness of God. His name represents His character (Hallowed be thy name). Our desire should be to do things the way God designed them to be done. Thy Will Be Done. A lot of people talk about living without sin and the effects of sin in heaven, but they dont want to live the life that produces good until they get to heaven. God wants us in obedience to His Word while living upon this earth. Thy Will Be Done On Earth As It Is In Heaven. Is that your hearts desire? If so you will accept anything God does concerning your prayer. (Continued on page 7)
Can you image sitting beside Jesus and listening to Him pray? I would be just like the disciples. I would say, Teach me to pray like that. It must have been like sitting in on a private conversation with the family. I have been a Christian for 53 years and I have prayed many prayers, but I feel like I havent begun to know how to pray as I ought. There is much to think about when we go to pray for something or someone. First of all, do we believe in prayer? Do we believe God hears our prayers? Do you believe God hears YOUR prayers? We must have faith to believe that God hears and cares about our prayers. Is anything too large or to small to bring before God? No!!! He cares for us and if it effects us, it effects Him and He wants to hear about it.
Heb 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Jesus gave the disciples a pattern for praying. We begin by acknowledging where God is. He is in heaven. He is sitting on His throne with all His saints and angels around Him (the saints would mean the redeemed, which would be our loved ones). The Lord Jesus Christ is sitting beside Him, acting as our High Priest, making intercession for us as we pray. Jesus lived as man and therefore He knows how we feel and what we are talking about. HE UNDERSTANDS!
Bro. Bobby and his family/ team came through Cedar Hill while on their way to Houston Texas. It was so good to fellowship with them and hear how God is saving many young people through their ministry. Our church was blessed last year by their work and we still have many young people attending and growing in the Lord because of their ministry. They can be found on the internet if you would like to have them at your church.
Bro. Chris, Amy, Caleb and Andrew Murray The Murrays are missionaries to the Philippines. They have been on the field for over 16 years and the Lord has richly blessed their labor. They have been in the states since March of last year and will return home in March of this year. We met this couple in 1996 and had not seen them since the birth of their children. It was so good to share what the Lord has done in our lives through the years. Please pray for this family as they return to the field to be used of God in the lives of the people.
We hope you had a great Valentines Day and that you told those around you just how much you love them and how much they mean to you. Its a good opportunity to express love since so often we are busy and forget to stop and smell the roses. Much has taken place this last month. Our granddaughter Holly was baptized and our son Tom has been to Africa and India this month. Our daughterin-law Rhesa is going to Africa the end of this month. The first of the year our son took the leadership of a mission that supports works in several countries. He is visiting the works and trying to get a feel of the work he has committed to. This is the same son that has made it possible for us to print our paper each month. We are so thankful when the Lord uses our children. The Lord has used each one of our children in different ways and we pray for our children like Job prayed for his. Every day each one of us face testings and trials that can draw us away from the heart of God. We need to remember to pray for one another that we will be overcomers of this life and as the Bible says, And above all to STAND. We have had several missionaries come through this last month. Bro. Chris and Mrs. Amy Murray, with their two sons, Caleb and Andrew. They have been many years in the Phillipines and it had been about 15 years since we had visited with them. Also Bro. Wally and Mrs. Norma Higgins were in our services with his sister Mary Higgins. They are church planters, Founder, & Representative for Northwest Baptist Missions. They are planting churches in the Intermountain West. Bro. Higgins is having some health problems and would appreciate your prayers. Also Bro. Chris Murray ended up in the hospital after our visit, with Kidney Stones. They would appreciate your prayers also. The Guay family appreciate your financial support as well as your prayers for them as they adjust to the change in their family after the death of their two children. Tid Bits of Wisdom was able to give over $1,700 to the Guays through your giving last month.

hearts desires out before God. If there is any way that the will of God and our desires can be done and still accomplish His Will and His purposes, it will be done!!! Why should we pray if only Gods Will will be done? The Bible says God is not willing that any perish. Many saints have changed the mind of God, but no one has, or ever will, change the character of God. We are told in scripture to pray that the days of tribulation be shortened. Our prayers can make a difference to the timing of the tribulation, but no prayer can stop the tribulation. God says to pray that the tribulation will not be in the winter or on a Sabbath, because that would be very hard on the people. Our prayers can effect the time of year that the tribulation begins, but no prayer can stop the tribulation. Hezekiah prayed that he wouldnt die and God added 15 years to his life. He still died, but God in His grace and mercy added to his life. Prayer changes things, but the purposes and the will of God will reign forever. Cuddle up to the Will of God and pour your heart out to your Saviour and watch mountains move and healings take place and see many blessings you cant even image. I take EVERYTHING to the Lord in prayer and I rise up from my knees with an assurance that God heard, God cares, God understands and He will respond in His loving kindness, His mercy and His grace. Everything will be alright!!!! James tells us that the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Love Lifted Me
I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more, But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry, From the waters lifted me, now safe am I. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me! All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him I'll cling In His blessed presence live, ever His praises sing, Love so mighty and so true, merits my soul's best songs, Faithful, loving service too, to Him belongs. Souls in danger look above, Jesus completely saves, He will lift you by His love, out of the angry waves. He's the Master of the sea, billows His will obey, He your Savior wants to be, be saved today.
1 Cor 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
