Whats new
This release introduces the following new application adapter and new run book.

BMC Atrium Orchestrator Application Adapter for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
The BMC Atrium Orchestrator Application Adapter for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager consists of an actor and a monitor adapter. The actor adapter executes operations on the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager application by running VBScripts from the command line. The monitor adapter polls the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager application for events after a preconfigured interval. Based on the search criteria defined in the monitor configuration, the monitor adapter generates events for the BMC Atrium Orchestrator adapter manager. The events are then used by workflows. The BMC Atrium Orchestrator Application Adapter for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager supports the software deployment use case.

For more information about the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager adapter, see the BMC Atrium Orchestrator Application Adapter for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager User Guide.

BMC Atrium Orchestrator Run Book for Discovery Synchronization

The BMC Atrium Orchestrator Run Book for Discovery Synchronization enables realtime tracking of virtual infrastructure and ensures configuration information is kept up to date. The BMC Discovery Synchronization solution tracks the movement of VMware virtual machine hosts across VMware ESX servers (enabled by vMotion) and then communicates with the BMC Atrium Dependency and Discovery Mapping solution to advise it that a change in configuration has occurred. BMC Atrium Dependency and Discovery Mapping then does a targeted rescan of the virtual environment and updates the BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to maintain up-to-date configuration information. For more information about this run book, see the BMC Atrium Orchestrator Run Book for Discovery Synchronization Getting Started Guide.

The <vcenter-server-version> element in the BMC Atrium Orchestrator Application Adapter for VMware Infrastructure that specified the target vCenter server version was not supported at the adapter request level. This caused dynamic target functionality to fail if the target environment contained vCenter servers with different versions.

Tracking ID INSTALL-1288 Description When you execute the BMC Atrium Orchestrator content installation program repetitively, the installation program does not display the Installation Type panel, which allows you to select BSM Solutions. Instead, the installation program proceeds with the installation, and then fails with the message, Remedy ITSM error. Workaround: 1. Navigate to the directory in which the BMC Atrium Orchestrator content is installed. 2. Delete the ContentInstalledConfiguration.xml file located in the directory in which the BMC Atrium Orchestrator content is installed. 3. Rerun the content installation program.

Upgrade issues None AMP-17536 The BMC Atrium Orchestrator Application Adapter for VMware Infrastructure, which requires a certificate does not work when you upgrade from platform version 7.6.01.04 to 7.6.02. The Windows Command adapter response displays The handle is invalid. <command>commandName</command> intermittently when you specify a request with multiple targets. For base adapters in a Linux environment, if an error occurs in the OS close() operation, subsequent calls re-attempt the close() operation. The SQL monitor adapter cannot invoke a stored procedure containing an OUT parameter in MY SQL. When you use the form view to configure the base and application adapters, the description is not consistent and contains punctuation errors. The Web Services adapter displays two lines of unnecessary warning messages, which correspond to each outbound web service message. If you specify invalid values in the form view when configuring an adapter, switching to the XML view does not populate these incorrect values within the respective elements.

Tracking ID ADAPTER-4405 Description Web services using the keystore file for SSL connection are not accessed using the Web Services adapter. This issue impacts Web Services-based adapters like those for VMware Infrastructure and BMC BladeLogic Network Automation. Workaround: Use the JVM that permits SSL renegotiation as follows: 1. Set Dsun.security.ssl.allowUnsafeRenegotiation=true in the installDirectory/bin/ BMC Atrium Orchestrator CDP.lax (peer) file located in the LAX.NL.JAVA.LAUNCHER.MAIN.METHOD section. 2. Restart the peer.

When you specify the soap URL without specifying the port number using the Web Services adapter, the CertificateManagement instance is not created. A NullPointerException is displayed and the certificate is not installed in the cacerts file. Workaround: Specify the soap URL with the port number even if you use the default port. For example, specify: https://hostName:portNumber (for any other port other than default) https://hostName:443 (for default port)

ADAPTER-4455

For the Poll Asynchronous method in the JAX-WS approach, concurrent Web Services adapter requests do not work using different user credentials. The <verify-os> element does not work as expected for SCP, FTP, and SFTP adapters. When you execute the get-dir command using the SFTP adapter, the adapter response displays an error and the operation is unsuccessful. When you execute the put-dir command specifying an incorrect path for a local folder or both, local and remote folders, using the SFTP adapter, the adapter response displays success without an error message. The <ktgt-cache-file-name> element is incorrectly accepted as <ktgt-cache-filename> when you configure the KSSH adapter using the form view. Workaround: Switch to the XML view and modify the <ktgt-cachefilename> element.

The Create_VApp operation does not create a vApp under a resource pool where the resource pool exists under a vApp. The valid values in the description for the Preferred PK Algorithm field should be ssh-dss and ssh-rsa instead of ssh Dss and ssh Rsa. With version 8.0 (SP4) and later releases of the BMC BladeLogic Server Automation application, the adapter does not select the correct executable with the desired extension and displays the Could not find jvm_path message. Workaround: 1. Create a system variable named NSHDIR and set its value to C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\8.0\NSH. 2. ADAPTER-4322

The nexec command does not correctly handle NSH scripts with arguments that have empty values when executed on a remote computer. Workaround: When executing NSH scripts on a remote computer, specify arguments that have empty values as single quotes within double quotes ("''").

ADAPTER-4323 ADAPTER-4324 ADAPTER-4325

A single NSH script or command executed on a 64-bit computer opens multiple sessions. The <exit-code> and <status> elements are incorrectly set for Jython scripts in the adapter response. NSH commands do not execute correctly when the <timeout-secs> element specified in the configuration or request is equal to the command execution time. If the arguments for a script have leading or trailing spaces for multiple arguments, the spaces are not retained in the response for all the arguments. However, for a single argument, spaces are retained. The Get Message operation does not support the <recipientsinfo> element because the value of this element is first stored in a variable and then extracted to display information about recipients. You must specify the <name> element within the <parameter> element to execute adapter requests. If you specify only the <value> element without the <parameter> element, the adapter does not use the <value> element because it does not support positional parameters. The Get Distribution Group Member operation does not support the <credential> element. The <server> element is required for the New Receive Connector operation when the Microsoft Exchange server is installed on a 32-bit computer. If you specify the distinguished name within single quotes in adapter requests, an error message is displayed. The <RecipientFilter> element in the Set Dynamic Distribution Group operation does not work. You must specify the distinguished name without any quotes (single or double) in the Enable Mail Contact operation. The Delete-All-Messages-In-Queue operation response displays error messages intermittently. If you specify an invalid value for the Timeout Secs field when you use the form view to configure the adapter, an error message is displayed intermittently, and the configuration is saved. If you specify an incorrect <DomainName> element in the Move User Mailbox operation request, an error message is displayed. The revoke-security-group-ingress operation response displays success when the <items> XML element contains a permission that is not a part of the specified security group or is already revoked. Tracking ID ADAPTER-1382 Description The detach-volume operation request containing the <force> element accepts invalid values and successfully detaches the volume from the specified instance. The describe-images operation response does not display information about the images when <executable-by-set>, <owners-set>, and <images-set> elements are present in the request. The <no-device> element in the run-instances operation request does not work. The describe-instances operation response does not return the architecture of the launched AMI. The <block-device-mapping> element in the modify-instanceattribute operation request does not work. The adapter displays a wrong error message when you specify a large numeric value as an input for the Port Number field. If the cell stops before executing the set-action-result operation request, the cell loses its action-result-id state. When the cell restarts, the request reaches the cell after being buffered. Therefore, the cell does not identify the action-result-id and generates an error response. The adapter restricts you from applying any filter criteria (for example, greater_than, less_than, not_equals, and so on) against the unlisted slots. The adapter response does not contain the <status> element when a required element is missing from the adapter request. The Power_Off_vApp operation partially powers off the VMs contained in the vApp. The Clone_vApp operation does not work when the <deploy> and <power-on> elements are set to true. The Compose_vApp operation does not work when the request contains child elements which in turn have the same child names. For example, compose a vApp, TestUser, which contains vApp1 as <vapp-id> and TestTemplate as <vapp-template>. If vApp1 has a VM named Test1 and TestTemplate creates a VM called Test1, the adapter tries to compose a vApp having two instances of Test1 and the request fails.
