MAHANI TEAVE Mahani Teave is a native of Easter Island (Chile). Her father is a native and her mother is American. She began her studies in the island with Erica Putney. In 1992, she met the Chilean pianist Roberto Bravo who encouraged her to study in Valdivia, where she obtained her bachelors degree in music in 2001 and became the islands first classical musician. In 1999, Ms. Teave won the first prize in the Claudio Arrau International Piano Competition. In 2001, she won a competition in Spain. She was also the first prize winner in the 2004 Cleveland Intitute Competition. Most recently, in 2006, she was the winner in the Corpus Christi International Competition. In Chile she has performed as a soloist with the countrys main orchestras. Upcoming engagements include solo concerts in the United States, Japan and Antartica. Ms. Teave obtained her masters of Music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2005 and continues her studies with sergei Babayan.
