yourself in two contrasting ways; 1) how you think other people see you, and 2) how you see the world.
O O One photo shows your physical self, but not necessarily your face.
O O You have somehow demonstrated use of a theme of photographic self-portraiture (transformation,
substitution, role-playing, etc.) in at least one print.
O O You have selected high-quality negatives to make these prints.

O O Each print has a wide range of value, from the blackest black to the whitest white.

O O Each print demonstrates understanding of the four-step printing method, (developing, stopping, fixing, and

O O You have used appropriate exposure times and aperture settings determined by analyzing your negative
and by making a test strip.
O O You have used the enlarger and all of its parts properly (focused w/grain focuser, negative correctly placed
in carrier, easel has been used to center and border the print.)
O O You have used additional exposure techniques when necessary, (dodging/burning and/or use of a filter) to
improve the quality of your print.

to emphasize and/or enhance the subject matter in your photographs.

O O You have cleaned your negatives to avoid unwanted dust, scratches, and/or water marks that detract from
your prints.

O O You have carefully centered and trimmed each print (if necessary) to have clean, even edges.
O O You have matted and mounted both of your prints together as a diptych (images placed directly next to one
another, or in very close proximity), upon properly measured matte-board.
O O You have correctly centered the print, dry-mounted evenly, and left a suitable border around the print.
