1. Instructions to Lay Readers: readers still giving page numbers; projected image shows scripture
and pages. Pastor and worship team should coordinate image with lay reader instructions.
2. Lyrics are an important part of video projection. Congregation should be able to sing to the
lyrics projected. The worship experience is enhanced is the lyrics are correct.
3. During worship the Pastor prompted use of the pew hymnals, appearing to forget that lyrics are
projected during worship. As you would expect the congregation at first reached for their
hymnals then stopped when the lyrics appeared on the screen. The Pastor changed the wording
during the second service saying“... or use the words on the screen.” Would it be better to
simply invite the congregation to stand for the hymn?
4. Organization and roles of the worship production teams: Pastor gathers a small worship group
for prayer just before the service begins. This group always includes the pastors, pianist,
organist and music director, i.e. those persons up front visible to the congregation, and visibly
leading worship. If communion is served the worship group also includes the lay members
helping to serve communion. Others, include media techs, are already busy including the
ushers, choir, greeters, nursery attendant and acolytes. The lay readers are not otherwise busy.
