This program (AutoNRC) can be used for ration evaluation or formulation. Hit F9 to recalculate often.

Important notes:
The program evaluates a ration against requirements only for an animal of the described weight and eatting the describe
The program does not predict performance over a range of cattle weights and feed intakes.
Rations fed over a range of cattle weights and feed intakes should be reevaluated over the entire range of circumstance

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

This program (AutoNRC) can be used for ration evaluation or formulation. Hit F9 to recalculate often.

Important notes:
The program evaluates a ration against requirements only for an animal of the described weight and eatting the describe
The program does not predict performance over a range of cattle weights and feed intakes.
Rations fed over a range of cattle weights and feed intakes should be reevaluated over the entire range of circumstance
FOR A NEW RATION

NOTE: hit F9 to recalculate before viewing results.

1st: Save the spreadsheet under a NEW NAME (File, SaveAs, ... REMAME spreadsheet and Select folder used to store a
2nd: Move the active cell to "D16", feed dry matter per day. Enter the amount expected to feed.
3rd: Move to cell "D17", animal weight lbs. Enter the weight of animals to be fed.
Note: This programs calculates evaluates requirements and estimates performance for a specific weight of cattle
For a ration fed over wide range of weight evaluate at 50 to 100 lb increments of cattle weight.
4th: Move to cell "D18", CATTLE TYPE. Enter a number from 1- 9 until the cattle type you need displays.
5th: Select all the BLUE numbers in column "A" from "A4 to A12" and DELETE (hit Del key).

11th: Continue entering ingredient numbers of the ingredients you want to use in cells A5 through A12.
12th: Enter the amount of each ingredient in the ration ( % of ration or lbs/hd/day )
13th: Hit F9 (the recalculation key) hint: a good key to hit often.
VIEW RATION:
Gain and Efficiency estimates are found in cells M17 & M18.
Adjustments to predicted Gain and Efficiency can be made in the Preformance Adjuster (N15 .. P19).
This adjuster can be used to reflect the influence of variables such as environmental factors, new technology, etc.
The Ration Analysis and Evaluation Box can be viewed from cells "B22" through "K49"
scroll down to view Ration Analysis and Evaluation Box. The ration is compared to NRC requirements in cells B22 .. K49
Note: For ration evaluation enter the amount of each ingredient used in the ration and hit F9 and scroll down to review the results (B22..K49).

"Feed Additive Calculator 1" is for additives added on a "GRAMS/TON" basis
the amount of addtive displayed in bold is the amount of additive as a % of ration on an Air Dry Basis (ADB = 90% dry)
"Feed Additive Calculator 2" is for addivives added on a "GRAMS/HEAD/DAY" basis
the amount of addtive displayed in bold is the amount of additive as a % of ration on an Air Dry Basis (ADB = 90% dry)
Warning: All additives should be hand calculated to insure the proper dose of additive is being added to a ration.

BATCH SHEET: The Batch Sheet Table can be viewed from cells "B51" through "K63"
An "AS FED" batch sheet is automatically produced for the size (pounds) of the batch you specify in cell H51
Note for "Pounds Ingredient" (column F): The first three ingredients are rounded to one decimal point remaining ingred
Note for "Acumulative Scale Weight - Actual" (column H): All ingredients are rounded to two decimal points.
Note for "Acumulative Scale Weight - Rounded to 10 lbs " (column J):
Column J in the BATCH SHEET TABLE rounds to nearest 10 pounds this meets the needs of most feed truck scales
