Karen Lonsdale is a graduate of the Queensland
Conservatorium and the Hochschule für Musik in
Munich, Germany. She is busy freelance flutist,
working regularly as Guest Principal Flute with the
Karen Lonsdale
Queensland Orchestra. She is also Flautist/Vocalist 2009 Flute Masterclass and
with X-Collective, cabaret ensemble from the
Queensland Orchestra. Karen is in her final year of a Concert Series
Doctor of Musical Arts at Griffith University and is in
demand as an examiner, conference presenter, tutor,
lecturer, and adjudicator. She will be presenting on
her DMA topic (muscular imbalances of flute playing)
at the Performing Arts Medical Symposium in
Colorado, June, the National Flute Association Con-
vention in New York, August, and at the Australian
Flute Festival in Adelaide, October, 2009.
Dave Mibus is a freelance pianist, in high demand as
an accompanist, session musician, teacher, and solo
performer. He studied music technology and classical with Dave Mibus (piano)
piano at the Queensland Conservatorium. Dave was
musical director for Opera Queensland's 2006 produc-
tion of Sean O'Boyle's TheSongbird, and in 2007, Toowoomba—Wednesday 11 March, 2009
toured throughout Europe as accompanist for the Aus-
tralian Youth Choir. Dave is accompanist for Mirusia
USQ Arts Theatre, West Street, Toowoomba

with internationally renowned flautist
Jane Rutter. Dave spends much of his time compos-
