markets

b. The results give us a big smile that 10 people love Gucci and 24 people love
Sisal
c. This show that some MUIC students still stay on the brand name side, and
some are pleased to support the local products like Sisal bags
Outcome
After we sold 80 sisal bags, we had profit left around 1,070 baht. (One bag we get 9
baht profit) The money also got from the sale of Samchuk Pandan water and donation from
participants. Actually, we decide to give these amounts of money to the local market in
Supanburi, Samchuk market, but we think that there is already well-developed and grow
enough. So we decide to give the money to help the market near Salaya area, which is
Don-wai Floating market. We donate the money through the temple by offering dedicated to
Buddhist monks as well (as shown in the pictures below) We are very appreciate with all
donators and people who support this local products. We hope that the happiness and merit
will go to everyone.
Problems on Green Tourist Event

The first problem is a board for providing information. The board is quite small in the long-
narrow shape, so the information needs to be limited. Moreover, the board of each group is
standing too closed to other groups. It looks confused when the consumers come and read
because they think that every information that provided on the board come from the same
issue. Also, the back of the board, people can’t even know that there is exist, so they know
only when we take them to join the activity. They hardly read the information we provided.

The second problem is ignorance of consumers. We can notice that people pay less attention
to the information on the board. They prefer to go to the booth rather than get themselves
stuck to the information board. They tend to walk pass without spending time to read the
information on the board.

The third problem is the consumers’ behavior. For example, people tend to go for free
products rather than purchasing one. We can notice that may be the new current trend of
consumers’ behavior.

The forth problem is way to approach consumers. We found that it is very tough to get closed
to the customers because they are afraid of being asked to purchase the products without
asking their desires

The fifth problem, there is no space for customers to look the information on the board clearly
because there is little space between the board and our booth.

We also plan to do the brochure about Sisal products and recommended local market, but we
think that we do not want to waste the use of the paper. So we came up with the video and
slide strategy to provide the information for people, but they don’t read it much as we expect.

Last problem, it is quite hard to change the attitude of people especially MUIC students to
support local product like the sisal bag that we sell within two days because they have already
stuck with the brand name products. Our group can notice that most of customers who buy the
sisal bags are exchange students and staffs in MUIC not MUIC students.

What did we learn from this project?

We learned about teamwork while we did this project because we have to help each
other in order to complete this project. Our group separates the work or position to finish the
project. We feel happy among our team. Moreover, we can learn behavior of customers while
doing the project. People have different needs and wants, so we have to understand their
behavior or lifestyle before you come up with the new products because some people who
like brand name products do not want to support this kind of product. Some people may think
that sisal products are out of trend. However, I feel that the green tourist can influence people
to concern about the environment and use products from nature more than the past. In
addition, while we did this project, we had a chance to go to Samchuk market and our group
had seen a lot of local products that are very interesting. We also had a chance to talk with the
owner of toys and candy shops and she feel happy when she sees a lot of tourists come to
travel in the market. From this trip, we want to be people who help to support local products
and introduce them to the MUIC community. We hope that they will spread the local products
to their family, friends, and relatives.

We are proud to be part of the green tourist
