Title: A Critique of Concepcion Rodil Martirez Human Resource Management Principles and Practices Human Resources Management: Principles

and Practices by Concepcion Rodil Martires which is about the ideas and practices of the human resource management. It also contains the role of HR in an organization. It is separated in four parts namely the Overview of human resource management, the HR department in an Organization, the Functions of Human resource Management and the Future of Human Resource Management in the Philippines. The cover of the book is not different from others. It is plain and simple but contains a very informative data about the Human Resources Management in the Philippines. The authors inspirations are his students which uses foreign books to supply information in the need of human resource management. The book shows information on how human resource is used in the Philippines. The human Resource Department illustrate specific and technical work are complex and multifarious and categorized according to its five functions- job organization and information, acquisition ,maintenance, development and research and human resources, it also performs in general management in relation to top management and to the Human Resources Department staff. The book is made for the Filipino student to understand well on how the HR Department affects the organization and make a success in the firm. However, the question is, does the author satisfy the need of information of the Filipinos in the human resource department? Is there a difference in practicing human resource in the foreign country and in the Philippines? HR should possess the necessary personal and professional qualifications to function adequately as staff and line officers integrated with another department of organizations some of the organization combines human resource with the administrations then with the other departments. As I criticize the book I notice a creative way on presenting the different principles of the human resource. It uses pictures and illustrations to make the readers understand more about the topic. As a human resource student I can relate to the book which shows the chronological order of human resource. There are studies focusing to human and one of this is Human Resource Management, this is the art and science of dealing with people at work for optimum achievement of individual, organization and societys goal. The book was simply made for the Filipino who is studying human resource. It gives information which is relevant to us as the future Human Resource personnel. Ideas and information about the

Human resource is very convincing and also significant. As a student I may say that the book lacks attractiveness. Even though this book is written for professionals it also need a little bit of design which may help in the marketing of this reading material. I wish that the next volume would not only emphasis the Human Resource for the professionals but also for us students to learn and understand more the field of human resource.
