METHODOLOGY FOR PILE FOUNDATION

METHODOLOGY FOR PILE FOUNDATION

1) Scope of Work : To construct RCC bored cast in situ piles by using rotary Hydrolic piling rigs 2) Barricading of Site : Proper barricading will be provided on full stretch of road so that construction Equipments & Materials are safe guarded & there is no inconvenience to general public and to channelize traffic. 3) Setting & Lineout : Before start of actual piles work it will be ascertained that there no any service utility. Each pier location will be actually marked at site using total. 4) Equipment & Accessories : Italian made MAIT 180 hydraulic or Bauer make hydraulic piling rigs will be used for making of bore holes to desired depth. Concreting will be done by tremie. 5) Construction and operation of bore pile : The pile rig shall be positioned and boring operation at desired location shall start The bore hole will be advance by using soil auger in soft strata & with rock auger in hard strata. Scarified Liner of 1200mm dia ID made from 6mm M.S. Plate will be lowered in the bore up to collapsible strata/ top of rock. The depth of the piles will be recorded with respect to time taken. Depth will be recorded in the measurement computerized instrument provided in the rig.Also time to time checked by lowering chain & same shall be measured by tape. Soil & Rock Samples will be collected & kept for approval of competent authority. Detail log sheet for each pile will be maintained at site. Pile will be socketed in hard rock as per the design requirements. Pile will be socketed in hard rock. After approval of foundation work pile it will be cleaned & checked for shift etc. if it is found in acceptable count the pile in ready for

concreting and if it found beyond acceptable limit the chat shall be communicated to Design unit for modification if any. 6) M S liner : MS liner are used for each pile having dia 1200mm & 6mm thick plate at lower end shoe 150mm of 12 mm thick plate to keep it in shape One coat Zinc rich epoxy & two coat coal tar is applied on liner. The liner shall be driven open ended with pile driving hammer capable of achieving penetration of liner upto refusal starts. 7) Reinforcement : The reinforcement ( FBEC treated ) of each pile will be assembled & tide by means of binding wire & tack welding to main ring. Prior to lowering the cage the shaft shall be cleaned of all loose material. All reinforcement cages will be prepared in accordance with RCC drawing and by suitable spears. 8) Concreting : All piles will be concreted by using tremie of 8 inch dia & suitable hopper. RMC Concrete M-40 grade will be used having slump not less than 150mm. Tremie pile will be provided up to founding level. The first charge of concrete will be placed with a sliding plug on the hopper. The plug will be removed downward as the concrete will be poured in hoppac This concrete will discharged by slightly lifting trimee this will displace the muck below trimee. In this way the concrete from trimee will take the place of muck and being lighter it will always come upward as the concrete will be poured through trimee continuously. The top of concrete in a pile will generally be brought above the cut-off level, up to ground level to permit removal of all laitance & weak concrete before capping and to ensure good concrete at the cut of level for proper embedment into the pile cap. 9) Compaction : To ensure compaction by hydraulic static head, the rate of pouring of concrete shall be observed not less than 6.00m (Length of pile) pre hour. be lowerd with help of hysign. Cover shall be maintained

10) Log Sheet & Record : Bore hole log sheet & record as attached Performa will be used for each pile & submitted to consultants / Client. These records will be jointly maintained & signed. 11) Pile Cap : The liner shall be cut about 9cm above cut of level. The pile above cut off level shall be cut manually. Reinforcement of pile is opened and shall be embedded in pile concrete. The side shuttering & reinforcement shall be fixed as per design section. The pier reinforcement shall then be adopted in pile cap and concreting as per normal procedure shall be carried out.
