In 2013, we shall be transforming learning experiences through the use of the iPad as a learning tool as we engage students according to their learning styles. OPPORTUNITIES... We believe that collaborative and competitive learning activities, whether in the formal, social or virtual learning spaces, will lead to awesome outcomes in terms of student experience. The Taylors Graduate Capabilities is designed to help our students start ahead and stay ahead.
PEOPLE... It has to be our people. At Taylors, we believe that our success lies in the success of our students. For our students to be successful, our staff must be competent and results-driven. Transforming Your
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Blended Learning
LEARN ANYTIME, ANYWHERE Blended Learning is one of the innovative ways of transforming our students learning experience here at Taylors College. It is a teaching and learning method that is often mediated with the usage of computers or other advanced technologies like iPads, tablets or smartphones, used as learning tools. As such, teaching and learning can now take place outside the classrooms and at flexible hours. Classroom hours are now combined with interactive online learning systems such as Moodle, Edmodo and various iPad apps that allow a richer and more effective learning experience.

Personalised Learning
MAKING LEARNING EFFECTIVE FOR YOU
learning styles
With a vision to make learning more effective and efficient, we have personalised our teaching and learning for you. The Taylors learning environment is one that is catered to meet the needs and aspirations of unique individuals, as no two individuals are the same. Understanding that every student comes with multiple intelligence (linguistic, logical, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, interpersonal, intrapersonal, musical, naturalist and existential) and also different learning styles be it visual, auditory or kinesthetic teachers offer various teaching methods to meet students needs
and preferred learning style, enabling them to learn more effectively. With support from tools like the iPad, students are able to understand their subject matter using multiple senses sight, sound and touch/movement. This makes their learning a more personal one in which they are able to better connect with the content at hand. The iPad also allows students to obtain information at a touch of their fingertips, improving student engagement in the classroom, and in turn enhancing their comprehension, thinking and creative skills.

Collaborative Learning
STUDENTS LEARN BEST FROM INTERACTION
collaboration
We believe that students learn best in interactions with one another. As such, Collaborative Learning is a common learning culture amongst our students. Taylors classrooms setup comprise of tables and chairs arranged in cluster format to help facilitate this kind of learning. With help from their peers, students will debate, share resources, solve problems as a team, sharpen and also motivate one another which inculcates a wider worldview and critical thinking as well as teamwork. At Taylors, peer-to-peer tutoring is another initiative that helps students to learn from one another and demonstrate mastery when they are able to comprehensively teach a subject.

SAM is designed to help students develop the skills they need to succeed; college-based assessments make up 70 per cent of the final marks and external examinations make up the other 30 per cent. This system allows students to take ownership of their own academic progress. From this, students gain hands-on experiences and become more self-directed in obtaining knowledge and managing their time. The college-based assessments are moderated by a panel of the SACE Board of South Australia for quality assurance. BEYOND CLASSROOM LEARNING Learning also takes place outside the classroom as students are encouraged to embark on adventure trips, excursions and participate in activities that bring a positive impact on the community. Community service and environmental action is a key focus of these activities.

CPUs wide range of subjects gave me the option to freely mix-and-match my subjects of choice. My fondest memory is being in Mr Martins Calculus class. I had no mathematical background in high school but learning Calculus with Mr Martin isnt that hard after all. He always spared some time to help me develop my understanding towards the subject.

I enjoyed studying at Taylors because the people and atmosphere felt very much like home. I was active in the peer-to-peer tutoring programme. I learned to convey my knowledge to someone else by breaking things down to a simpler form. It deepened my understanding on the subject matter and was a win-win situation. Kaveena Maniam

The Taylors Placement Centre is key to ensuring students receive the right information about universities. This includes the timing of applications and familiarity with the nuances of the application system to ensure a smooth application process. Many students from Taylors College have come to study at The University of Sheffield. Many of them have been successful in obtaining not only their first degree; some have been able to secure places for a PhD. I think it goes without saying that students are given a good foundation to continue onto university.
