Wiring Instructions

IR Transmitter/Receiver by Draper
The receiver should be mounted only in dry locations, however as a precaution against stray moisture, the unit should be mounted with the wires pointing down. IR works by line of sight: make sure nothing will obstruct the IR path from the transmitter to the receiver. The shortest distance allowed between the receiver and the oor is 150cm (59"); the shortest distance allowed between the receiver and the ceiling is 30cm (1113/16"); the shortest distance allowed between the receiver and the transmitter is 50cm (1911/16").

Please Note

Transmitter
-Power supply: 12V dry battery, Type :CR 23A -Protection index: IP 30 -Working temperature: +5 degrees Celsius to +40 degrees Celsius

Receiver
-Power supply: Model Dependent 115 VAC or 220 VAC 50/60 MHZ (verify which model you have before connecting line voltage) -Working temperature: -20 degrees Celsius to +50 degrees Celsius -Rated load: < 600W AC Power

Wiring
The receiver is compatible with standard AC tubular motors operating on the same voltage as this unit. In connecting this unit, local building codes should be followed. Other items to be aware of: Make sure the power from the building supply has been disconnected when installing or servicing this unit. The receiver contains static sensitive devices, and standard practices should be followed to discharge static charges from all components and the installer before touching the open unit or connecting components. Use exible wire and make sure there is no tension on wires connected to the terminal strip. Make sure that all Earth (Ground) wires are connected as shown.

Troubleshooting
The buttons on the receiver work properly, but nothing happens when remote buttons are pressed Neither transmitter nor receiver buttons work, and receiver makes no noise when buttons are pressed. Neither transmitter nor receiver buttons work, but a click in receiver can be heard when button is pressed. Is there a clear line of sight between the transmitter and the receiver? If the LED on the transmitter does not light or only lights weakly when a button is pressed, replace the type 23A 12VDC battery in the transmitter. Otherwise codes as described in installation steps 4, 5 & 6. If LED 1 is not lighted, make sure that proper building power (115 VAC or 220VAC) is being delivered to terminals L& N of the receiver. If there is proper power there and LED1 is not lighted the receiver is likely to be faulty. Verify that when the UP button of the receiver is pressed that there is line voltage across terminals L&N or R&N. Repeat this check pressing the DOWN button. (one direction should power L&N and the other direction R&N) If this is not the case, the receiver may be faulty. If power is found here and it alternates between L&N and R&N when the UP and DOWN buttons are pressed the motor is likely faulty.

The receiver should be mounted only in dry locations, however as a precaution against stray moisture, the unit should be mounted with the wires pointing down. Metal in the building structure and in the building furnishings may reduce the the receiver sensitivity and should be avoided in selecting mounting location. The receiver should be mounted at least 150cm (59") above the oor, and 30cm (1113/16") below the ceiling. In use, the transmitter must be held at least 30cm (1113/16") from the receiver. If this is a multi-channel application, or other radio receivers are present a minimum of 20cm (77/8") should be maintained between receivers. Working temperature: +10 degrees C (+50 degrees F) to +50 degrees C (+122 degrees F). This is a radio frequency controller operating at 433MHz.

Press the setting button (KEY) until the LED2 light on the receiver begins ashing. (The receiver will return to the original state if no operation is done within 10 seconds.) Press the program setting button on the rear of the transmitter using a ballpoint pen until the LED2 light of the receiver stops ashing. Programming is now complete. Note: If you are using the four-channel transmitter, the same methods set the remaining channels. The receiver can only store 20 channels. If you try to input the 21st channel, the command will be ignored and the LED light of the receiver will not ash. Delete all stored channels memory from the receiver. A. Press the program setting button (KEY) of the receiver for about 4 seconds until the LED2 light begins ashing and then quickly release the button. B. Press the KEY button again within six seconds until the LED2 light stops ashing. This erases the receivers memory. (If step 2 is not carried out within 10 seconds of step 1 the memory will not be erased.) Delete the stored memory of any channel. A. Press the button on the back of the transmitter to choose the channel you desire to delete. B. Press the setting button (KEY) of the receiver until the LED2 light begins ashing. The receiver is ready for a delete command from the transmitter. C. Press the DOWN button of the transmitter, the LED2 light of the receiver will stop ashing, indicating the memory has been deleted. (If you have a multi channel system, the same method is used to delete other channels.) Use a small screwdriver to remove the screw holding the rear cover in place and lift off the cover. Remove the old battery. Put in the new battery (Type 23A 12VDC). Replace the rear cover and the screw to hold it in place.

The UP and DOWN work properly on the transmitter or the receiver, but they are reversed on the other. Move switch BK2 to the opposite position. If the direction on both units is now wrong move switch BK1 to the opposite position.

The motor runs down when either the transmitter or receiver UP button is pressed.
