We gather today as Gods beloved children to worship our Heavenly Father.

We praise his holy name, we listen eagerly for his words of comfort, hope, and challenge to us, and we offer ourselves to him in dedicated service. May you be blessed as you worship here today.

St. Paul Lutheran Church is a congregation of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (E.L.C.A.). It is referred to as Borchers since Rev. Henry Borchers, who served our congregation from 1857-1881, advised and influenced a small group of pioneer settlers that wanted to establish a congregation in the area. This year we celebrate 161 years of life and ministry in this beautiful country setting in Southern Indiana. We look forward to many more years of growth and change as we seek continually to be faithful to Gods call to mission.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion is

offered at the 8:00 a.m. services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays and at the 10:15 a.m. service on the 1st and the 3rd Sundays of the month. Christians who believe in the true presence of Christ in the bread and wine for our forgiveness and salvation are invited to receive Holy Communion.

Zachariah Mark was born on April 10, 2013. He has one brother, Noah. THE CONGREGATIONAL QUARTERLY MEETING will be held on Sunday, April 28th at 9:10 am. QUARTERLY MEETINGone item of business that will be discussed during the meeting is the preschool director position. The recommendation from the Preschool board is to hire Carolyn Jones as the preschool director. This will have implication for some of the other activities that Carolyn oversees. To balance the role of preschool director and Director of Youth & Family Ministries, the congregation council recommends hiring a Youth & Family Ministry Intern to oversee some areas (Tweeners, TREATS, etc.). The person to be the Y&FM Intern would be Tyler Claycamp. Tyler is interested in pursuing a career in Youth & Family Ministry. This would be good experience and is a way for the congregation to fulfill the constitutional duty to raise up leaders for the whole church. For additional information, there is a sheet at the welcome center with some more specifics. CONFIRMATION will be held on Sunday, May 5th at 9:00 am. On that day, there will only be one church service and no Sunday School. HANNAH CIRCLE will meet on Tuesday, April 16th at 9:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. Going Deeper

The purpose of this page is to provide a tool or instrument for your spiritual growth. This page contains a brief synopsis of the readings as well as some questions for your reflection to help you go deeper with the Word. On the back is a day by day listing of scripture readings with possible prayer request. Individuals are listed on their day of birthso that you might pray for them on their birthday. Also on the back is the prayer list for the congregation. Keep on Growing Spiritually!! Readings for the Day: Acts 9:16 [720]-Each of us has a story of meeting God's grace. Saul (later called Paul) was an ardent persecutor of all who followed the Way of Christ. This reading recounts the story of his transformation, beginning with an encounter with Jesus Christ on the way to Damascus. Revelation 5:1114-The vision of John recorded in Revelation offers a glimpse of cosmic worship on the Lord's Day. At its center is "the Lamb who was slain." John 21:119-The risen Christ appears again to his disciples by the sea where they were first called. After echoes of the fishing and feeding miracles, he gives a final reminder of the cost of a disciple's love and obedience. From Sunday & Seasons, copyright 2013 Augsburg Fortress Questions To Ponder: 1Why do you think that the disciples do not recognize Jesus? 2What do you think the disciples were thinking when this stranger told them to cast their nets on the right side of the boat? 3Is there significance to the number of fish that the disciples caught? 4What is the significance of the dialogue between Jesus and Peter? 5What do you think that Jesus means when he says feed my sheep?

NOTES:

MEMORY VERSE: Revelation 5:12 12 singing with full voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slaughtered to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!" "A reflection upon this verse is posted on the churchs website www.stpaul-borchers.org
