For such a time as this

My Story
With eyes peeled, unwavering concentration, and an imagination that soared from every word spoken, two people standing in front of me had captured my attention.
They spoke of how they cared for others living in some far-o land; they described their language, traditions, and how they were able to share God with them. This scenario took place in a Sunday school class I attended in 1996. Ironically, this is my most vivid memory growing up in church. The message shared by two missionaries had lodged itself into my 8-year-old brain, which up to that point, had been consumed with the thoughts of building Lego structures, eating peanut-butter-banana sandwiches, and playing soccer. Many years later, I nd myself pursuing a similar call as the two missionaries spoke about in my Sunday school class: sharing God with a people in a faraway land. I had not dreamed that this would be Gods direction for me, but I am grateful for the path He has me and where He is leading me. I am excited to have the opportunity to serve the people in Hungary, along with pursuing my childhood dream of playing soccer.

Josiah Venture
Josiah Venture (JV) is an organization that aims at developing young people for Christ to participate in a movement of God throughout Central and Eastern Europe. JV has more than 230 missionaries (half of which are nationals) in 12 countries, including Hungary, working towards the goal of reaching youth with the Gospel. designing a countrywide soccer ministry. Our desire is to see young people come to know Christ and get connected to the local church through something as simple as the sport of soccer. Unfortunately, for many people in Hungary as well as in the US, church and religion may bring about negative meanings. We hope that soccer will break down these barriers, bring non-Christians into weekly contact with a fellowship of believers in order to ultimately take progressive steps toward Christ. It is an absolute dream for me to be part of this progression at local and national levels. This is an amazing opportunity that God is opening up for me which integrates my passion for Him, for youth, and for soccer. Upon arriving in Hungary, I will immerse myself in the Hungarian culture and will dedicate 20 hours per week to learn the Hungarian language. This is a daunting task as the language proves to be quite challenging. Despite the di culty, learning the language

My Role
I have been invited to join in JVs groundbreaking ministry in Hungary, being pioneered by Rob & Liz Trenckmann, the team leaders in Hungary. I will be partnering with a local church and working alongside nationals to help in leading a youth ministry. The vision for this ministry is to rst incorporate a discipleship culture within the church, while reaching outside the church, for those who desperately need Christs love. I am excited for this challenge and the opportunity to serve and grow with a group of Hungarian believers. Additionally, I will be implementing a soccer ministry at the local church level, and will be joining my brother Eric with the task of

other costs associated with relocating to a foreign country. My goal is to be serving in Hungary by Fall of 2013, and I am excited to see how God will provide. If God is leading you to support my ministry through nancial means, you can access my account information at the bottom of the page. In the coming weeks, I will be contacting you to share more about my vision for Hungary, to communicate any new developments, and to answer questions you may have about joining in this partnership. In the meantime, do not hesitate to communicate with me by email, phone call, or text. I welcome your comments, suggestions, and questions about my mission with Josiah Venture in Hungary. There are times when feel like I am dreaming and someone just needs to pinch me to wake me up. It is amazing that God is calling me to go halfway across the world to share His love with people. In His abundant grace, He uses my strengths, weaknesses, and passions to do His work. As the burden for the people of Hungary increases within me, would you pray that God would give you a burden for them, and that we would participate together in demonstrating Christs love to the people in Hungary?

To be a successful part of what God is doing in Hungary, it is vital for me to have a support team of people, who will commit to pray, encourage, and support me both spiritually and nancially. My invitation is that you would pray about joining me in what God is doing in Hungary. Due to the nature of this work, it is absolutely essential that I am covered by a partnership prayer team. Your prayers and support are coveted not only during the process of preparing to head back, but during my time in Hungary as well. Knowing that there are people praying for what God is doing in Hungary means the world to me; please consider being part of my prayer team. My nancial need breaks down as follows: a monthly support of $3,000, which includes my salary and ministry expenses; the salary covers my living expenses, whereas the ministry account will cover the work I will be doing with JV. Furthermore, a onetime outgoing expense of $19,400 will cover moving, training, and
