Stage 3 Learning Plan Learning Activities: 1. Ask the students if they know the names of the different families of instruments. 2. List the families of instrument names: Woodwind, Brass, String, and Percussion. 3. Explain to the students that today we will be learning about the Woodwind family of instruments. 4. Show the students the podcast created about the Woodwind family of instruments. 5. Give the students the Mixed Up Instruments Sheet. This is a sheet that has the wrong instruments matched with pictures and facts. They must match them up correctly to get them back in the appropriate cases. Play the podcast again while they have the sheet to refer back and forth to. 6. Give the students the Woodwind Family Questions sheet. Play the podcast for a third time. They must answer the questions based on the information in the podcast. 7. Collect up the question sheets, then re-distribute them so that each student has someone elses sheet. Go over the correct answers, having the students check for the right answers.
