Project description: The project consisted of 3 parts. -The 1st part was designing a runway for an airport giving the wind data. -The 2nd part was designing a free-way between and existing free-way and a new town with a design speed = 90km/h and calculating the number of intersections, the volume of cut & fill and the needed bridges/tunnels. -The 3rd part was designing a network of roads for a small city and designing the intersections between the roads. Practiced skills: Design an airport runway taking in the consideration the geographical location, metrological data and aircraft specification complying the international aviation design code and requirements. Design the road width slopes and intersections according to international road design standards. Design the associating road markers and signs for the whole project. Produce accurate plan-profiles and cross-sections drawings using civil 3D software. Prepare quantities take off for project earthwork including cut and fill volumes.
