Do You Love God?

You cant honestly say that you love God unless you know Him and know yourself. Do you just love the notion of a celestial being, or do you love the real God who deserves our devotion? Are you interested in the parts of Him that you want? Or, do you love God for all His attributes? Spend time considering the question: Do you love God?

Your self-esteem should not be derived from how great you think you are but from how much God loves you. If you belong to God, there is no one or nothing that can separate you from His love and protection. This gives real confidence.

If someone cant mind their own business, it may be due to a small mind and no business of their own. Work hard, keep to your own business, and never get tired of doing Good.

And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.
Seek This First
Next time you write out your priorities, make sure you put God

I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death cant, and life cant. The angels cant, and the demons cant. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell cant keep Gods love away.
Overcome Your Fears

Yet we here that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and wasting time meddling in other peoples business. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we appeal to such people no, we command them: Settle down and get to work.
Busyness

Faith is the antidote for fear.

He will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God.
Make Your Prayers a Priority

When he woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the water, Quiet down! Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. And he asked them, Why are you so afraid? Do you still not have faith in me?
Character Counts

Never mistake activity for achievement. In Business terms, if your product is bad, it is not going to get better just because you make more of it. Some people mistakenly think that increasing their commitments is admirable because more is better. Before you get busier than you already are, evaluate what you are doing. Maybe you should delete some commitments so that you can do a better job with fewer activities.

If your prayers dont mean anything to you, they mean even less to God. Effective prayer doesnt happen; it takes effort, devotion, and discipline. Think of prayer like a muscle the more you exercise it, the stronger it will get.

Whatever you do, do well.

Others determine your reputation. You determine your character. Do what it takes every day to develop your character and preserve your integrity. Above all, dont live your life to please others. Live your life to please God.

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.

Two Kinds of Anger

the person who doesnt own one. The Bible will do you absolutely no good sitting unread. Only if it is opened, read, and studied can you access all of Gods wisdom and direction that Bible contains. Move it off the shelf and into your heart.

If you lose your temper, youve lost. There are two kinds
of anger. A Righteous anger which comes out of a righteous response to sin. This anger Jesus displayed when He chased the money changers out of the temple. The other Anger controls you. You lose your temper. You say or Do something you later regret.

Its impossible to offer destructive criticism and love someone at the same time. Destructive criticism is motivated my fear fear of being discovered, fear of being criticized, or fear of having to be open and honest. Love is actually the antidote for destructive criticism for this reason. When you are motivated by love, you are less likely to be critical of others, because youll have their best interests in mind.

Such love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear.
Listen and Learn

For these commands and this teachings are a lamp to light the way ahead of you.

Teachers and mentors wont find you; you have to find them. God sends people to teach you His truth. These

people can be a person who is discipling you and will meet along your spiritual journey. God has equipped them to feed you solid spiritual food so you can grow as a Christian. Even though God does the sending, you have to do the looking. Its up to you to find and seek out spiritual leaders. Then you need to Listen and Learn.

Who is Jesus?

But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you.
Doubt

Jesus is the greatest person you will ever meet. He is Gods Son. Jesus is the most extraordinary person ever to live on earth, and God has raised Him up to the heights of heaven, where he is worthy of the highest praise that heaven and earth can deliver.

might be motivated to live our lives more for God and less for ourselves. And, the preachers cant do it alone, no matter how powerful their sermons. We need to help by taking the sermons with us when we leave the church building. The church isnt the building anyway. We are the church, and wherever we go, we take the sermons and all that they mean with us.

The Son reflects Gods own glory, and everything about him represents God exactly. He (God) sustains the universe by the mighty power of his (Jesus) command.
Pleasing God

Now wherever we go he uses us to tell others about the Lord and to spread the Good news like a sweet perfume.
Best Friends

God wants to replace your question mark with a period or even an exclamation mark. To have doubt is to be unsettled, like a wave driven by the wind. To be wise is to trust someone who not only has more experience than you do but who also has your best interests in mind (God). When you have doubts in your life, you can go to God for answers. Be confident that he can handle the problem.

But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
Who Is God?

Discover the things that please God, and then make them habits. Its only natural to want to please someone you like. You do it because you want to give joy to someone you care about. God likes it when you please Him. Dont try to please God in order to butter him up like you might do to your dad or a boss in order to get something. Pleasing God is for your enjoyment and your benefit. When you do the things and think the thoughts that please God, your life takes on new meaning and purpose. And your impact on those around you will increase as you make pleasing God a habit.

Your best friends will criticize you privately and encourage you publicly. There is a place for constructive criticism and we all need it. None of us is above the objective, truthful, and loving correction of someone who has our best interests in mind. This is where your friends come in. What kind of friends do you have? Do they tell the truth or do they tell what you want to hear? Your best friends will level with you, even at the risk of alienating you for a while. Theyll tell you privately where youre wrong and where you need to straighten up, as long as you let them know ahead of time that you want the truth.

The character of God is not determined by your opinion of Him. God isnt going to change His character to conform to what we think about Him. He is not like a celestial Mr. Potato Head that we get to design; we dont get to rearrange His features to suit our momentary whims and transitory opinions. God is who He is. Our opinions of Him should not be determined by what we want Him to be. Instead, our understanding and beliefs about God should be based on what we learn about Him from the Bible. Make sure your concept of who God is conforms to what God says about Himself.

And we receive whatever we request because we obey him and do the things that please him.
What Would Jesus Do?

I am warning you! If another believer sins, rebuke him; then if he repents, forgive him.
