The Barson’s Journey to Plant Churches in Kampong Cham, Cambodia

The Fourth of Four Letters About Our Passion For Missions

Our last three letters explained our call to missions; the specific needs of the people in Kampong Cham, Cambodia; and the role of our missionary agency, World Team. This final letter is an invitation to join us on our journey to Cambodia!

The Game Plan

The last eight months have been a whirlwind for us. God has affirmed our call to missions and opened door after door, moving us closer to the work he has for us in Cambodia. We are excited to heed God’s call and trust his timing. The current progression of things makes it reasonable to believe that we will move out of the U.S. by October 2013.

Behind every successful missionary, there are scores of people who believe in their ministry and are committed to furthering it. We are no different. Not everyone is called to go but everyone can play a role in supporting God’s work on the other side of the world.

Will you consider partnering with us?

Here are some ways that you can help:

1. Prayer: Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7) Our loving creator longs for us to communicate our requests to him, so that he can show his power. Therefore, we ask that you would faithfully and persistently pray on our behalf. We will send monthly prayer updates (via email) to communicate our concerns to committed prayer partners both prior to our arrival in Cambodia and after.

2. Financial support: The Bible says, “They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.” (Psalm 112:9)

On the field, Bill will be voluntarily working full time as an administrator of Friendship School without a salary. Amy will be home schooling Liam and Luke with the hope of eventually running a clinic in Kampong Cham.

We must raise $6,200 in ongoing monthly support to provide for our housing, living, children’s education supplies, international health insurance, ministry costs, etc. (a full break-down is posted on our blog).

We are asking you to consider taking part in this work by giving a one-time donation and/or ongoing regular monthly donation.

One-time donations go towards outgoing expenses, which include airfare, intercultural training here in the U.S., language school, shipping costs and initial set-up needs.

Monthly gifts will go to our re-occurring living and ministry expenses

–Part of our responsibility is to raise support associated with World Team’s expenses for our assigned ministry.

–All gifts to World Team are tax-deductible and will be receipted for your records.

Giving instructions are enclosed. You may give online or mail your payment to World Team in the enclosed envelope.

If you plan to support us monthly, giving may begin immediately or you can indicate on the response card when you plan to start. Monthly gifts that begin immediately accumulate from now to our departure date and go towards our start-up expenses.

3. Advocate: This ministry is not about us! It’s about the needs of the people

3. Advocate: This ministry is not about us! It’s about the needs of the people of Cambodia and the work that God is doing to transform lives through the power of the Gospel.

We are currently giving presentations about the history and needs of Cambodia, the benefits of Friendship School and the plans we have there. If you are interested in hearing more specific details about this we would love to share our presentation with you. Feel free to email or call us to set up a time.

Do you have friends or family members who have a heart for missions and would like to receive the four letters we just sent you? If so, send us an email with their contact information so we can pass these letters on to them.

Have your business support our World Team ministry and Friendship School through corporate sponsorship. Donations can be made in the name of an organization and are fully tax deductible.

To ensure that you are on our email distribution list, please return a response card with your email address or send us an email indicating you would like to receive email updates. We will keep you posted monthly on our progress to the field and our work once we arrive.

We know there are a lot of worthy causes these days. We ask that you consider giving to this work, which provides for more then just temporary, material needs, but provides for eternal, spiritual needs. Please consider using your gifts and resources to support growing God’s church in Cambodia!
