LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
Candidate attended one of the best Universities in Nigeria, University of Lagos, a highly renowned university, where he studied engineering and graduated with a second class upper grade. This in my view makes him a suitable candidate for a post graduate programme. Although Eberechukwu Onyekwe's first language is not English, his ability to write, speak and comprehend the language is quite commendable. He could communicate in English quite fluently without flaw. This spoken English skill will be quite useful in pursuing postgraduate training in Scotland. Secondly, during the period that Eberechukwu Onyekwe has worked under me, he has been involved in oil and gas projects execution that has exposed him to gathering, collation and interpretation of petroleum data that is eventually used for performing process simulation models. This familiarity with analysis of data puts him a better position to carry out research work if considered for a post graduate training. He is exceptionally receptive to new concepts with little explanation and also has an inordinate desire to achieve results and solve problems is his strongest motivation to achieving set objectives. He also possesses an unwillingness to accept failure. These motivations sustain him even in the face of difficulties and help him to persevere till the end until he achieves desired results. Eberechukwu is quite innovative and comes up with new and alternative ways of solving problems. This attribute makes him original without resorting to copying other people's ideas hook line and sinker. For instance a case in study was when he was working under me as a junior process engineer on a chevron project and the need arose to generate a sizing algorithm for sizing an orifice place, something that never existed in the company at the time. Eberechukwu was able to surmount this challenge by initiating an excel spreadsheet from first principle for carrying out this calculation un-assisted.
