SUMMARY PRODUKSI GAS HIDROGEN MELALUI PROSES ELEKTROLISIS AIR SEBAGAI SUMBER ENERGI
HYDROGEN PRODUCTION BY ELECTROLYSIS PROCESS AS AN ENERGY SOURCE Created by ANDEWI, NI MADE AYU YASMITHA Subject Subject Alt Keyword : : elektrolisis : Electrolysis, Hydrogen : Electrolysis; Hydrogen Gas; NaCl

Description :

Description Alt:
Hydrogen gas is an element that can be developed into an alternative energy source. Around 1337 million km3 of the Earths water is salt water. The purpose of this study is to analyze the volume of hydrogen gas using stainless steel electrode at the cathode, to analyze the voltage variations that has the optimum volume of gas in the electrolysis process and to analyze the variations of salinity which has the optimum volume of gas in the electrolytic process for the production of hydrogen gas. This research uses the process of electrolysis with variations in voltage and salinity levels. Electrolysis cell is an electrochemical cell which does not react spontaneously because the electrical energy is supplied from an outside source and channeled through a cell. The electrolyte used is NaCl (sodium chloride) with voltage variation (2.1 V; 6V; 12V) and salinity level variation (0.5 , 15 ; 35 ). The electrodes used are Platinum as anode and stainless steel as the cathode which are then energized on the positively charged anode and the negatively charged cathode. The study is conducted for 180 minutes. The result shows that the salinity and the voltage affects the production of hydrogen gas. The greater the salinity and the voltage applied, the more hydrogen gas it was produced. The optimum production of 98 mL is obtained at salinity 35 % and voltage 12 volts.
