LANGUAGE WEEK REPORT

In conjuction of the Language Week, our English Language Society had organised 3 acitivities such as public speaking, making lyrics and puzzles. There were a few members and teachers from our society who had participated and carried out the activities for the English Club. Thanks to the teacher and students for their participation.

Day 1 2nd April 2013( Tuesday) Activity: Making lyrics Venue: Dewan Bacaan Time :7.30-8.45am Puan Chan with a few AJKs like Neville Quinn James and Seck Min Kuan had conducted this activity. The theme was Sleep for the senior category. Junior and senior students participated in this activity. A total of 15 students from all forms took part. The activity was conducted for 1 hour 15 minutes. There were 3 winners for junior and senior category. In the junior category 1st prize was won by Berlinda Xyn Yee (1A), followed by Adrian Fang Yuan Jin (PB) and Samantha Lam Yie Chen (PB) . As for the senior category, 1st place went to Doirus Julius Kulip (4F), followed by Nur Athirah (5E) and third place went to Nur Afiqah Nizam (5F). Day 2 3rd April 2013 (Wednesday) Activity: Public speaking Venue: Mini Theater Time: 10.20-11.35am Puan Lim Yee Fung with AJKs Jordan Hon, Wong Chi Ying and Ashley Lo Pui Mun had conducted the activity. Ideas and main points were given to the students.This contest was open to senior and junior students. Students were given time around 5 minutes to prepare their speech. Around 20 students participated. After that, one by one the students came out and presented their speech. The activity was carried out successfully. As for the juniors, first place went to Nur Yamni Amanina (1B) whereas second and third placing went to Neils Nabaus Anak Kimpie (1B) and Hou Yuan (1F) respectively. Sheak

Day 3 4 April 2013 Activity: Puzzles Venue: Dewan Bacaan Time : 8.10-9.40 am Puan Pamindar Kaur with AJKs of English Club like Sabrine Lizy Fernandez, Vedhavalli Grant and Mok Tze Teng had conducted this activity. A total of 13 students participated in this activity. Each student were seated separately and given the puzzle. Extra clues were given to the contestants. Only four students managed to answer all the questions. 3 winners and 1 consolation prize was chosen. First, second and third went to Chua Lik Hoong (1B), Nitty Debnath(1A) and Enrica Lim (1A) respectively whereas consolation prize went to Shirley Syn See Bui ( 2B).
