the occasion for a moving tribute of faith and love which Catholics in every part of the world pray to the Queen of Heaven. During this month Christians, both in church and in the privacy of the home, offer up to Mary from their hearts an especially fervent and loving homage of prayer and veneration. In this month, too, the benefits of God's mercy come down to us from her throne in greater abundance (Paul VI: Encyclical on the Month of May, no. 1).

For more information and to register online, go to www.evenaprayer.com.

PREAUTHORIZED DEBITThank you to all of those who have already completed your form and indicated your interest in this

type of regular parish donation. If You have not done so please consider taking advantage of PAD. The forms for registering are available at the entrance of the church and you may either place it in the collection basket or drop it by the office (Please note we will require a voided cheque with the completed form). You should note that the remittance occurs on the 15th of the month and so it is a monthly donation and not a weekly donation (this does not include special collections). This event is set for May 31 & June1st at the World Trade and Convention Centre. There will be keynote speakers and workshops and the entire event will end with a Eucharistic Procession from the World Trade and Convention Centre to St. Marys Cathedral for mass. We are being urged by our Holy Father and our own Bishop to participate in this Year of Faith and show the world that what we profess is what we truly believe. As a parish community let us witness to the Church and city of Halifax that we walk by faith. If you have questions or need assistance with registration please contact the office. It begins on Friday May 10th which is the day after The Ascension (when celebrated on Thursday). You can find this novena on the internet if you search for Holy Spirit Novena.
