Hypertension or Prevention It is alarming to know that hypertension or high blood pressure can influence, or at worst alter the lifestyles

of about 75 million American adults which after can lead to high risk of stroke, vascular disease, myocardial infarction and chronic kidney disorders. Little did some patients know that sometimes they look to be healthy on how they appear outside but they already have hypertension the sad part is that the findings have come to their senses at the latter part.As clearly defined by some cardiologist in Miami, hypertension comes as either a systolic blood pressure or SBP (140 mm Hg and above) or diastolic blood pressure or DBP (90 mm Hg and above). Hypertension can be basically developed consequently through environmental or even genetic origins. It can also be inferior, meaning it has several etiologies like renal, vascular or endocrine origins. As of today, records show that 90 to 95 percent of adult mortality was related with primary hypertension while only 2 to 10 percent was accounted for secondary hypertension. But now, studies have been released that may definitely give an end to this cardiovascular disorder that may suddenly kill anyone without being prevented. According to this new release, an increased intake of potassium can help reduce the risk brought by high blood pressure. This study was the endproduct of a meta-analysis of 22 subjective yet controlled trials and 11 group experiments. The studies also presentthat increased intake of potassium can lower systolic blood pressure to 3.49 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure to 1.96 mm Hg in adults having hypertension. Cardiologist in Miami FL looked at this study as a key to at least also lower the risk of stroke to 24 percent. Based from the Seventh Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC7), they recommend the categories of blood pressure for adults aging from 18 years and above. The Normal Systolic BP is lower than 120 mm Hg while the Normal Diastolic BP is lower than 80 mm Hg.In Prehypertension, the Systolic BP is 120 to 139 mm Hg while Diastolic BP is at 80 to 89 mm Hg. The stage 1 of hypertension for Systolic BP is at 140 to 159 mm Hg while for Diastolic BP is at 90 to 99 mm Hg. The stage 2 of hypertension for Systolic BP is at 160 mm Hg or higher and for Diastolic BP is at 100 mm Hg or even higher. The JNC7 suggests the following change in lifestyle in order to cut down cardiovascular disease risks on adults. These are to lose weight, control alcohol intake, lessen the intake of sodium, saturated fat and cholesterol, highly consider the sufficient dietary potassium intake as well as with calcium and magnesium, quit smoking and participate in aerobic exercises at least 30 minutes everyday. Do it all for total cardiovascular health.
