Afforestation Afforestration is the establishment of a forest or stand of trees in an area where there was no forest.

It can also be defined as the process of establishing a forest on land that is not a forest, or has not been a forest for a long time by planting trees or their seeds. The term may also be applied to the legal conversion of land into the status of royal forest. Trees are one of the most important aspects of the planet we live in. Trees are vitally important to the environment, animals, and of course for us humans. They are important for the climate of the Earth, they act as filters of carbon dioxide, they are habitats and shelters to millions of species, and they are also important for their aesthetic appeal. Our Earth has been constantly trying to cope with the way in which human beings use natural resources, clear forest lands, cut trees, and contaminate the air, land, and water. Industrial revolution, population bursts, and pollution create permanent damage to the earth, and the result is global warming and climate change. In such situations, something that can help extend the life of the planet and its living organisms is the increase of natural resources and decrease of exploitation of these resources. The main purposes for implementing afforestation are commercial forestry and environmental restoration or preservation. When afforestation is used for commercial purposes, it usually involves planting and harvesting of trees as agricultural crops. Areas where this is done are known as plantation forests. Harvesting trees from plantation forests helps to reduce deforestation in natural forests. On the other hand, there may be environmental consequences if this tree-farming is done incorrectly. The fast-growing trees often chosen for plantation forests consume large amounts of water and may deplete the area's water resources. Some types of trees also change the physical or chemical properties of the soil, which can damage indigenous species. Thus, sustainable commercial afforestation must take environmental factors into account to avoid damaging the local ecosystem. Conclusion: By planting trees and creating forests, many of the commercial needs of human beings are fulfilled, while not destroying what is left of the planet. Afforestation is, therefore, a practice that has been propagated by government and non-government agencies of many countries as a way to stop over-exploitation of nature.

Defforestration: Deforestation is the permanent devastation of native forests and woods. Deforestation is the removal of a forest or stand of trees where the land is there after converted to a non-forest use. Deforestation occurs for many reasons: trees are cut down to be used or sold as fuel or timber, while cleared land is used as pasture for livestock, plantations of commodities and settlements. The removal of trees without sufficient reforestation has resulted in damage to habitat, biodiversity loss and aridity. It has adverse impacts on biosequestration of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Deforestation has also been used in war to deprive an enemy of cover for its forces and also vital resources. One of the most worrying factors today is the massive destruction of the rainforests of the world, which is affecting the biodiversity adversely. The destruction of the forests is occurring due to various reasons, one of the main reasons being the short term economic benefits. Deforestation has caused problems both good and bad, some examples of the positive effects are that it provides us with many natural resources like minerals, lumber, iron ore etc..These are necessities we use to help improve our everyday lives without these natural resources some people would not survive. There are farmers, corporations and loggers that cut down trees for wealth or survival but what they dont realize is their hurting our environment. Not all deforestation is intentional a small portion of it is caused by natural disasters like wild fires and overgrazing which stop trees from growing. There are multiple solutions to this that can possibly stop deforestation like to stop cutting down trees but then we will have no more natural resources, Which leads to great financial problems in the economy that also could cause recessions. That could cause a great deal of depression to multiple countries Conclusion: Deforestation can be solved only if every one cooperate with each other and stop people from vandalizing animals homes. Remember you can make a change and influence the people around you to save our beautiful planet.
