Set induction (5 min)

1) Teacher shows some pictures on the celebration of deepavali eve in Malaysia. 2) Teacher explains to the pupils about the topic that they are learning, what learning skills to be taught and the objective of learning it.

Presentation (15 min)

1) Teacher distributes Handout A to the pupils. 2) Teacher picks some pupils to reads aloud with correct pronunciation while the teacher check and correct the pupils pronunciation. 3) Teacher points out new words that might be unfamiliar to the pupils and explain on the meaning.

Practice (25 min)

1) Teacher divides the class into a group of five. 2) Teacher distributes Handout B to the pupils where the pupils need to complete a mind map about the text. 2) The pupils writes the mind map on a mahjong paper and decorates its using their own imagination. The pupils will paste their work on the wall.) 3) Teacher distributes Handout C to each of the group where the pupils need to determine whether each of the statement is correct or wrong. 4) Teacher checks the answer with the pupils.

Production (10 min)

1) Teacher distributes Handout D to the pupils, the pupils need to answer all the question individually. 2) Teacher discusses the answer with the pupils. 3) Teacher asks the pupils to give their opinion on the questions 6 and 7.

Closure (5 min)

1) Pupils will do a simple role play, all of the pupils need to act as if they are celebrating Deepavali.
