The difference is that communication with animal is instinctive.

Young animals do not have to be taught which predators to fear or which calls means danger or distress. Animals have different forms of communication; gestures, facial expressions, gaze following, vocalization, and olfactory signals.For example; displaying body parts is a very common form of animal communication, especially in birds as their males become extremely attractive during the breeding season. The most important difference is that animals cannot relate an event where the other individual was not present. But animal communication lacks the complexity we associate with human language in a number of significant ways. Animal communication is not reflective or descriptive. It is not only vocal like other animals; the gestures touch, facial expressions and colors but these are all limited to their immediate needs and feelings. Animal communication which consists of smell is used by ants and tiger to mark a trail for their territories which is known as scent marking to communicate to other animals that the piece of land belongs to them. On the other hand human communication is complex. Human which are referred to as homo-sapiens meaning man the wise; this refers to those qualities that distinguish human beings from the class of other animals. It infers the dominance over all other species on the planet. And the human ability to further extend its knowledge to invent tools and machinery to make work easier and more efficient as well organized its self in complex and rapidly developing society. further it infers human ability conceptualized and develop abstract ideas and engage in problem solving. All of these capabilities which is said to set mankind apart from other animals maybe said to be facilitated by this use of language. Such accomplishments would hardly be possible with a complex system of communication, more complex than that used by other animals. But both animals and humans communicate among themselves according to their needs in the lifestyle. Humans have been trying to understand the animal behaviors and their means of communication through the scientific method, which is another

form of communication in humans.
