Ok, lets understand about marriage. Marriage is related to which house? 7th house. What Happens when person marries twice or thrice? Will you look for 7th house again? Students: Various opinions. It means your concept of marriage is not clear. Now understand this. The first marriage is seen from the 7th house in navamsa. The Second marriage takes place after the break of first one or during the concurrence of the first one. There is a difference. How will you see the difference? First marriage is seen from the 7th house, second marriage is seen from the 9th house, and similarly, third marriage is seen from the 11th house and then lagna, got the point, after every third house. See this in the Navamsa not in Rashi Chart. It will not tell you how is your Spouse? This you will get to know from 7th house in Navamsa. 7th house in Navamsa is your first wife. 9th house in Navamsa is your second spouse while first marriage is going on. 11th house in Navamsa is your third spouse with first and second spouse going on. Getting my point. This way you will see spouse when the previous marriage is still going on. But in modern times you will see less of these cases. In most of the cases you will see where first marriage is broken and second marriage takes place. Apply Vimsottari dasa if there is any connection with 7th lord blindly predict about marriage. Lagnesh can also give marriage provided if he has good aspect or argala on 7th house. Study Navamsa only, do not waste your time much in the rashi chart. 7th house in rashi Chart will tell only you about your point of view about Vivaha and its Phala. Suppose somebody have Jupiter in 7th house and in Rashi chart and Rahu in 7th house in navamsa chart, which is correct? Rahu is correct. If you take Jupiter and start telling about spouse then your prediction will be wrong. Rashi is your attitude and navamsa is your spouses attitude. If somebody has Rahu in 7th house in Rashi Chart and Jupiter in 7th house in Navamsa chart, then person will have a terrible attitude towards marriage but he is so lucky that he got such a good spouse. Ok. How does first marriage brakes? From the 8th house (2nd from 7th) and the next marriage will take place from the 7th from the 8th house i.e. is 2nd house in navamsa. Similarly, 2nd marriage will break from the 3rd house and 3rd marriage will be seen from the 7th thereon i.e. 9 th house. This is very simple rule. In the same manner you can see the further marriages.

So, what is the definition of marriage here? Marriage is defined as one man and one woman staying together in mind, not in body, and during that time they will not think of somebody else. That is the perfect Vivaha as defined by Sri Krishna in Mahabharta. Sri Krishna asked Dhrupadi to live with one husband for one year to maintain purity and not to even think about others during that period. Sri Krishnas definition will be valid in Kaliyuga not of Sri Rama. Ok. Normally in India you will not find this problem because here everything is clear. You will have this problem in cases from other countries where it is very difficult to define what is marriage and what not. Student: But other countries also have rituals for marriages. Do not confuse yourself by rituals. It is important to have clarity on this. All the rituals are made by the men not by the god. You and I and everybody will be judged by this definition, which Sri Krishna has given, there is no other definition of marriage. As Kaliyuga will advance Sri Krishnas rule will apply. So how will you catch a chart? The 7th house from Shukra will tell us from where the first spouse will come. How will you meet your spouse? Who will bring the spouse? Let us take a random case. Example Chart: Male

In the above chart, Shukra is in Kumbha Rashi and 7th from thereon is Simha Rashi with Guru in it. The lord of Simha is in Meena Rashi so there is a Parivartan. What does it mean? It means that Surya was suppose to bring the wife but now Guru will bring it because of Parivartan. Now Guru is in Sthira Rashi, right. Now tell me where is Guru in Navamsa? In Mesh, Char Rashi ok.

Out of these two we consider that in Guru in Rashi is stronger then Navamsa. So taking Guru in Sthira Rashi, means less energy, we assume that spouse will be found nearby . In the same manner Dwi-Svabhava rashi means Short Distance and Chara means long distance. In this case person met the spouse in the same locality where he was living. They use to study together in the same school shows representation of gurus significance in bringing the spouse. So the people who are not getting the spouse do not run after 7th lord. See 7th from your Shukra and judge. This is the principle for both male and female chart. This is very important point in horoscope matching, which nobody sees these days. Ok tell me your spouses kundali, where is Shukra in her chart? Example Chart: Female

Shukra is in the 9th house and 7th from there is Karka rashi. There are no grahas in karka. Now see where is Chandra, in Kumbha Rashi. So again Sthira rashi, if we see your wifes Kundali than we can tell her that you will meet your husband in your neighborhood only. Naturally, if you will meet her in your locality, she will also meet you in the same locality. You see, the Graha, which is bringing wife in your kundali and the Graha, which is bringing husband in your wifes kundali showing the same thing. So, before doing any calculations for matching the kundali see which Grahas are bringing the spouse. In the male kundali it is Guru who is bringing the spouse and in female it is Moon bringing the spouse. What kind of Sambandha is there between them? His guru is in Simha and her Chandra is in Kumbha, you see, what yoga it makes? Guru in Simha and Chandra in

Kumbha, Gajkesari yoga occurred. Beautiful match, Uttam Vivaha. Marriage will be successful. This is the important aspect of kundali matching, remember this, it will work. Now, study the chart further. This is the first step, which I told you; now see the happening of marriage. How will you see it? Second is to see upapada, match the upapada, and third is to see 7th house in navamsa. See his 7th house in Navamsa. Can you see the entire family of his wife by making 7th house of navamsa as lagna of his wife? See, the same thing from the wifes chart also. If you can see the relation then there marriage is possible. We are proceeding logically; you wanted to know how would they marry? This is how they marry. Tell me, what is your rashi of 7 th house in your navamsa? Mesha rashi, with Shukra, Budha and Guru in it. Very good. Jaimini say two grahas are enough to make person rise in 7th house in Navamsa. He has three, all benefics, fantastic. Now see where are these three grahas in her wifes rashi chart. Please note, I am seeing his navamsa and her rashi chart. Shukra is the lagna lord, and placed in 9th house, very strong, very good. Jupiter is placed in 5 th house. Both the grahas are placed in Trikona. The grahas placed in lagna and in its trikona influence the nature of the person. So the Graha placed in 7th house of his navamsa should also make some influence on his wife nature that is why they should be ideally in trikona to her lagna. Do the matching this way. Have you seen how they got married? After that we do upapada matching. We will do that in next class. See, I am teaching you the basics first. These basics no body will ever teach you. Your foundation will be very strong by these teachings. Now you do exercise by taking as many cases you can. See how they worked? Sometimes the result will come from rashi, some time it will come from navamsa. Study more.

Upapada (from class 5)

Now, one of the most important factors of marriage is upapada. The most important, the Arudha pada of 12th house is called upapada. Upa means subordinate, below or behind, ok. Who is behind the lagna, the 12th house so the pada of 12th house is called upapada. Ok. Many people do many calculations but do not confuse your self. Upapada means Arudha of 12th house. Clear, ok. No ambiguity. Now, the calculation of upapada is done like this. Arudha is defined as reflection of a house about its lord. Do you understand reflection? It is like mirror. See, if we place a mirror here, I can see reflection of Ajay in that mirror. Why? Because, the light, which is coming from Ajay, is falling on that mirror and coming to my side, means the degree of angle it falls on the mirror will be the same degree of angle it reflected back to me. Ok, so how will we decide this angle in horoscope, we will count the number of houses from the house in question to

its lord. And then we will count the same number of house from the lord. For example Lagnesh is in 2nd house, so from lagna we will count to the lord. It is two houses away then we will count two houses from Lagnesh that will bring us to the 3rd house. So the Arudha of lagna will be in 3rd house in this case. It is very simple calculation. It has two conditions. The Arudha cannot be in 1st and 7th house. If Arudha falls in these houses then count 10 houses from there. Arudha will not be stable over there. Some people do not agree to this but the Parashara, which, we read, and other authors also agree to this. For example if Lagnesh is in 4th house than the Arudha falls in 7th house but it will not be allowed to stay over there and run from there to the next 10 houses means 4th house so, the Arudha will be in the 4th house. In the same way we can calculate all the houses. Very simple. Ok. Now, Arudha shows where something tangible is manifesting. Where it will show? How it will show? If you cannot see the spouse how will you marry? If you cant see the physical body of the spouse whom you will marry? That tangible object which you call your wife or husband what is that? Truly speaking it is piece of mud in which Brahma has put the Gayatri mantra. Do not get angry with me that I am calling your spouse a mud but that is the reality. How you recognize your spouse? By seeing his/her body. Is there any other way of knowing him? No. So that body comes from where? That body comes from upapada. The body of the spouse is manifested through the upapada. It is Maya, not permanent. It will go away one day whether you like it not. What will remain is the lagna the fame that why lagna is related to fame. Good or bad only fame will remain. All the Arudha will go away and lagna will remain. So my spouse is the Arudha of 12th house or manifested through upapada. Now, from where this body is coming? How is this body? From a well to do family or from a poor family. How will you see? If lord of upapada is exalted than it is coming from good well to do family. In the same way if it is debilitated then from the poor family. The name, of a person is not associated with lagna it is associated with Arudha only, because that name the person will carry so long the body lives. After the body dies he will have to leave that name and look for another name. But even if the person dies his name remains so we can say that name link the Arudha and the lagna. It is an advance concept but worth thinking. Think about it. Ok, let us go to back to Arudhas. Through the upapada we can know the lagna of the spouse provided you are choosing the spouse. If you are not choosing the spouse somebody else is choosing then your upapada and their upapada will match. This will happen in case of arranged marriages. How many type of marriages are there? Have anybody read about them? You should read about Indian culture at least. 8 types of marriages are there, Asta Mangala. You should read how beautifully Indian culture has defined the types of Vivaha and types of Santana. So, if some person is not been able to marry then it because that person is not able to see the spouse. You see, some people do not see each other for 20 odd years and

suddenly after 20 years see each other and marry and remain together for entire life. Isnt it beautiful? Dont you feel surprised? Think for a second. So what exactly is happening Upapada, 12th house? 12th house we talked of moksha also, it is important. I am saying 12th house as Moksha and 12th house as bandhana also. Marriage is a kind of bandhana only, there is no greater bondage than Vivaha, do you agree? So, I mean to say that there is no greater path than Vivaha for Moksha. All the rishis, I think most of them were married. People have many concepts but I say there is no better path then Vivaha for Moksha because upapada also comes from the 12th house and Moksha also comes from 12th house. Are you able to understand there is a relation between the two? Our great Parashara was also married and Vyasa, and Vashistha also. What about Atri Muni, do you know his wife great Anusuhya. She was the greatest Pativrata; people say that if a lady takes Anusuhyas name only for 108 times then all her troubles will be over. Sita used to worship Anusuhya only. Do you know that? Anusuhya knew what will happen in the life of Sita and gave her Abhushana (jewels) and told till the time these Abhushana are there on your body your purity will be protected. So who protects these marriages these rishis wives only and of these Anusuhya is the highest. She is the most adorable. That is why I say read our texts. You need to know your culture. Student: There are eight rishis who were not married, I do not know all of them but greatest among them was Lomash, then Narada, then Sukdeva, there is controversy on his name, then Markandya, then there is Ashtakbal, so there are eight rishis who were not married. So, anyway this misconception that you need to take brahmacharya to get moksha is wrong. Brahmacharya is purely your personal choice, of a certain path, that is all. It has nothing to do with whether you will be granted moksha or not. It is for god to decide, no human being will decide. You have been given body to produce children for the continuity of the world. As far as your physical union is for the purpose of begetting children and there are whole lot of conditions mentioned in Shastra. Ok. Anyway, Upapada will decide the body of your spouse. If a man want to marry what is he praying for, a goddess to come in his life. No body wants to marry Suparnakha, sister of Ravana. Every body want goddess is it not? So when you want a goddess you might as well pray to a goddess. See the upapada and see what is there which is causing the problem. Why the person is not appearing in front of you? 7th house is nothing to do with it; the problem is with the upapada. 7th house is your spouse who is somewhere else doing job or study or business whatever, something, you do not know about him. Because the person is not in front of you. So there is no point in worshipping 7th house, worship upapada so that he appears in front of you in physical body. How to do it? All these grahas have Adi deveta and Pratyaadi devetas, you must be aware of them. Worship the

Adi deveta of the planet, who is the lord of the upapada, provided no grahas in the upapada. If there are grahas is in upapada then the Avatar of that Graha need to be worshipped. Adi deveta will indicate a particular deity and Graha will indicate avatar of that deveta. Immediately marriage will take place. The right time of marriage is when Brhaspati has rashi Drishti or Graha Drishti on 2nd house from upapada. Even if there is no Drishti, but it has some connection with the 2nd lord from upapada in any form or manner then it is good for marriage. So that blessings of guru come for the long marriage. If blessing is not there you may marry but it may not be long lasting. See Brhaspati is the Akash tattva, which binds all other tattva together. So it is important that Brhaspati must have some connection with UL and 2nd from Upapada so that marriage will happen and will be long lasting also. So, its clear. Ok. There was one girl I know having upapada in Mithuna rashi (Gemini), no grahas are there in that rashi. So what do you think I would have advised to worship to that girl. Yes, Vishnu, why Vishnu because adi deveta of mercury is Vishnu. I did not tell her Krishna or Rama etc. no modifications in deveta. Till the time there is no grahas there then no avatar. Simple rule. Now, how to worship Vishnu, I had two options. Vishnu can be worshipped on Dwadashi, the tithi ruled by Mercury or he can be worshipped on Thursdays because he is the lord of Akash tattva. See when you are worshipping Vishnu what are you asking for? When you worship Vishnu on Thursday then you are increasing Akash tattva because he rules it. The effect of this worship will be different from the Dwadashi worship of Vishnu. And it is also very different from Wednesday fasting or vratam of Vishnu. What do we want? We want that her spouse should come to her in physical self. So, remember, we have to take the day lord, not the tithi lord, not the tattva lord. Because Vaar rules physical bodies. Have you read Panchaang? No, pick up that book of Visti and read about it. Buy that book and read it. So Vaar (day) is body, and fasting on Wednesday from sunrise to sunset and worshipping Vishnu will bring the spouse to her. It was impossible thing as far as her mother was concerned but I told her you wait and see. It happened. Now you understood why it is important. All the Arudhas are nothing but physically manifested people. You can do many things if you understand the Arudhas. Ok, lets take this example, Mithuna lagna, Shukra is in 5th house in Tula rashi so where is upapada? In the 10 th house Meena Rashi. Draw the chart and do it. Now 10th house has got Chandra and Ketu in it. First thing is it delayed or denied what is the problem in the marriage? See that first. Brhaspati is in Lagna and Shani is in 3rd house. What will you recommend to this girl? Now, see when there are two grahas in the upapada then there is battle between them for bringing the spouse. It will create confusion in choosing the spouse that is why delay. Relationship between Chandra and Ketu is not cordial. Ketu says pickup the more spiritual kind of person; Chandra will say pickup the social kind of person so there is confusion. So can you tell me what to advice the girl?

Student: Fasting on Thursday. Yes, first thing is to recommend the fasting on for the day lord. If you are not going to fast forget it. You must tell it. No body else can do any thing if you cannot fast. Not tantrik pujas and all, nothing. It is between you and god no third party. As a jyotish you must tell the person it is your dharma to tell that person. They do it or not it is upto them. If Upapada is creating the problem then fasting is must. You must tell that. In this case fasting is on Thursday. What else? Students: Worship of Krishna avatar. Why is the Chandra better than Ketu? Ketu in Upapada can give you spiritual husband. So tell me any avatar of Vishnu, which represent Chandra and Ketu. Before that please check if it is male or female horoscope. If it is male horoscope the upapada is female and if it is female horoscope the upapada is male. Be clear on this. Do not suggest Male deity to male and female deity to female. Follow this Strictly. Suggest Male deity to female and goddess to male. Do not make any mistake in this. Let us have clarity on this first. For a male horoscope, the deity will be female, Lakshmi swarupa. For a male horoscope you treat the wife who is going to come as Devi Parvati. The person who is worshiping is Shiva himself and should think of wife as Shakti then he will have good Santana whereas the women when she is looking for the man should look for Lord Vishnu as her husband. See, there is a difference, I have not told you Lakshmi and Shiva. Why? If a person is seeking Lakshmi as wife before marrying it can bring some greed in his mind. Then he will see money of the wife. Which is not right. Whoever is going to come do not see her bank balance, it is wrong. You are marrying the girl because you like the girl. Because, she want to be the mother of your children after marriage. So what are you looking for? Devi Parvati. Clear. She will be a good mother. So the Das Avatars are called Das Maha Vidya. The Graha representing the Maha Vidya that Devi will come to your house. This the way a man should look at his wife. He should not look at his wife as Lakshmi till they are married. After marriage it is a different issue. Similarly if a woman has to look for man she has to look for sustenance that is why she has to look at lord Vishnu. If she looks for Shiva, who is Parma yogi, having two-piece of cloth sitting in the Himalayas why he will come and marry her. Tell me, will you marry a person who does not have anything and sitting in the Himalayas, then why worship him for marriage. You want your husband to be wearing Mukuta, Good clothes, have some position, status, and who can sustain you. Right. So at the time of marriage woman must worship Vishnu and Man must worship Devi Parvati. See the Sumya forms of goddesses for example Tara. For Mars you can take Pitambara, because Bagula Mukhi is the Pila Shakti. Do no

see her as troublemaker that my wife is Mangala, very furious. Look at her as Bagula and think that your son will be like Hanuman. It is the question of how you look at it. Ok now, this is a female kundali so Vishnu avatar of Chandra is Krishna and further you can take Krishna avatar of Ketu. Who is that? Krishna has many avatars like Bal Gopal, Lord Jagannath, and Lord Vitthal etc. so Chandra with Ketu is Jagannath, Parma Brahma. So she needs to worship lord Jagannath on Thursdays. Kleem krishnaya jaganathaya svaha she can use this mantra. Ok. Read more about India, more you read the more you learn. Ok. Now tell me why not matsya Avatar? You have made the whole story, why not matsya Avatar? Student: Because Moon is Satwa Guna and Ketu is not. I agree with your argument that we should follow the Satwa guna then the rajas and tamo guna. Your argument is correct. But if upapada has Ketu in it you will get spiritual person. If Rahu is there in Upapada then person can be foreigner if Ketu is there the person can be from rishis family. See with Ketu I said rishis family because Ketu represents parampara. Who saved the Vedas? Vedas, Sapt rishis (seven rishis) and matsya avatar are joined together. Anyways in Kaliyuga all these things do not matter, what matter is 2nd from upapada. How the marriage can break? If you can see that first and make a guard against it than it will be helpful. 2nd from upapada will decide what will be the cause of breakage of marriage. 2nd and 7th house from upapada will tell you why the marriage is breaking. 2nd house from upapada will tell what will be the immediate reason of breaking and 7th house will tell who are the people who will be against that marriage. Who are the people opposing you in the marriage? 12th from upapada is the secret enemies to the marriage. Now in this chart you can say Chandra in Upapada will show good family and Ketu can show the Rishis family. Why did you miss that Ketu is in his Mool Trikona. See I have not finished this case. I wanted to catch you over here. You people have taken Chandra blindly and forgot that Ketu is in Mool trikona. If any Graha is uccha in upapada then what could be better then that. Why should we ignore Ketu and take the Chandra. If Ketu is exalted in upapada it is beautiful. Have you noticed that Ketus exaltation and Mool trikona are is houses of Jupiter. Brahmans houses so this girl can get husband from some Rishis Parivar. So why should I give Krishnas mantra, why not Ketus mantra, Matsya Avatar Mantra. Which Graha is Stronger? Also in jyotish when good and bad planets co join Ketu will give result of Chandra and Chandra will give result of Ketu. Why I will not give Ketus mantra, it will give result of Chandra. You know this Yuti yoga, when two grahas joins they give result of each other. So take every thing in

consideration before giving mantra. In this case matsya avatar mantra will be better. See the chart in totality. Who are supporting the marriage and who is opposing? Rahu in 7th from upapada foreigner will oppose the marriage or if you go out of country your marriage can break. There is danger, foreigner will oppose what does it mean, your husband will go abroad and have some relationship there then it will break marriage. So what will you do? Then you need to worship matsya avatar and fast on Thursdays to bring your husband back from the turbulent water. So the mantra will be Om Namo Bhagvate Maha Matsyaya. Ok, getting clarity. So the upapada is telling all about the marriage. If mercury is in 7th from UL than relatives can cause problems. Moon in 7th will create opposition from Mother in law. Worst situation. Worst is the situation when upapada is in Makara. 7th lord is moon mother in law will definitely trouble. See horoscope of Menka Gandhi and study that, what gave her such a family and troubles also. In the next class we will take up this chart and study. Study it carefully. I think that will be enough for today.
