described them as weirdos who always hung out outside, near the
stairs by the cafeteria and the senior parking lot. Medauqh only
knows one member of the TCM. Robert Perry was in the same debate
elass with Medaugh for approximately one week. Perry kept to
himself during the time he was in the elass.
Medauqh stated that the thought for the day on the
Rebel News Network (RNN) was words to the effect of, 'YoU
shouldn't be here today'. Medaugh saw the thought for the day on
a T.V. monitor in his second hour class.

CONTROL NtIMllER, 1574,

On 4(29(99 I interviewed 16 year old CBS student Christina Medina at

her home in Littleton, Co. Christina's mother was present for this
interview~

Christina advised me she was in the cafeteria at CHS when the

shooting began around 11::1 Oam. She stated she had been in the
cafeteria since around 10:20am because she has 4th hour free. She
stated that her and a few friends usually meet in the cafeteria
around 10:20am to do home work and talk. They have 4th hour free,
then they eat lunch together at the 11:20am "An lunch.

Sbe stated on 4/20/'!J9 she came to the cafeteria around 10: 20am and
meet up with CHS students Jennifer Tindle, Elisha Encinias, Lindsy
Dyle and Michelle Cowles. They sat in their usual area, which she
described as below the stairs near 'rebel corner'. I provided
Christina a drawing of the cafeteria, which depicted all the tables
and their location in the cafeteria. I pointed out specific areas,
such as food line, kitchen and west windows of the cafeteria to give
Christina a better understanding of the lay-out in this drawing.
Christina looked at the drawing and pointed to table 'u' as the table
her and her friends were seated at. She recalled ahe sat facing the
stairs, towards the scut heaat , Chirstina cirloe table U on the
drawing, and initialed where she was seated.

I asked Christina if there were any other students in the cafeteria

from lO:20am until "A' lunch arrived at 11:lSam. She recalled there

1 JC.o01.oo3739
was one other group of hoys at table JJ behind her group. She said
it is a regular group that meets in the cafeteria for their open 4th
hour. She reealle<:l. the boys at table JJ were Chad Roybal, Evan Todd,
Eric Trujillo and Mike ~yry.

I asked Christina if she recalled seeing any large duffle bage in the
cafeteria that were left there before the crowd arrived, or recalled
seeing anyone bringing down a large duffle bag and leaving. Sha
stated she did not, but was not looking for anything like this. She
recalled 'Chat her back was towards the cafeteria, and was facing
towards the stairs. She did not recall seeing anyone carrying a
duffle hag or anyone wearing a trench coat coming into the cafeteria
from the inside stairs from lO:20am until the A lunch began.
Christina added that see was not really paying attention to who was
coming and going from the area.

She stated around 11:05am the kitchen opened up and she and Jennifer
Tindle walked ever to get a lunch. They took a direct route to the
kitchen. She and Jennifer eame ~ack to table U and ate their lunch.
The others girls were also eating. When she finished her meal
Christina walked her trash over to a trash can near the south doors.
She stated that wben she returned to the table, Cara Sanders asked
Jennifer to accompany ber to her car in the south parking lot.'
Jennifer and carll. left the cafeteria through the south doors. A few
minutes later 2 unknown girls came in to the cafeteria from the south
doors and appeared upset. They appeared to be looking for a teacher.
Someone yelled that someone hali been shot. Everybody in the
cafeteria stood up and looked out the west windows. Christina did
n01: see anything, then she heard pooping noises and a loud boom. Mr
Sanders then came down and told everyone to get on the floor.
Everyone did.

The crowd waited for a few moments, then began 1:0 run towards her as
they were beading for the steps. Christina got split up from her
table, but ran with another friend, Alexis Wolf. They ran up the
stairs into the hallway and down into the auditorium doors. They cut
through the auditorium and inco the main hallway west of the

2 JC-001.Q03740
administration area. They were running towards the administration
exit doors with about 5 other students when the glass in the exit
doors was shot out ahead of them. She believed the shots came from
behind them. She and Alexis stopped and turned to the right into a
short hallway while the other students continued out the exit doors.
They stayed in this short hellway for less than a minute before
making a run for the exit doors that had been shot out.

They got outside and were advised by a teacher to stay in Clement

Park. Christina did not see the gunman at any time, but was S1.1re she
heard shots upstairs near the auditorium when they reached the main
hallway.

Christina was wearing Jeans, red t ankt.op with white short sleeve
oover shirt. She left a Gap baokpack, black purse and jewelry on the
table in the cafeteria.

Christina had no information about 'rCM or Dylan Lebold and Eric

llarris.

She stated that while in Clement park when everyone was "freaking
out", she overheard a short (5'2") chubby girl tell another girl that
her friend got a call from someone telling her not to go to sohool
today. Christina oould give no mere desoription on this person, and
did not know who this person was talking about . She was unsure if
she woul~ recognize this girl again.

On 4/21/99 at 3,SOpm I 1nterviewed IS year old Brad Miller at his

home in Littleton, Co. Brad's parents were present for this
interview. Brad agreed to speak with me about; the incident at
Columbine High Sohool on 4/20/99.

He stated he was in the cafeteria around 11,30am when a teaoher came

running in and yelled 'get down'. Brad was seated at a table near
the west windows of the cafeteria. He immediately got down on the
ground and looked out the window to_rds the back of the school in
the west parking lot. He saw one person laying face down on the
ground ana. 1-2 other kids running outside. These kids appeared to be
injured, recalling seeing one kid with blood on his leg. Then he saw
a tall {over 6'J white male with long dark hair wearing a long trench
coat and dark pants carrying a gun. The gun was descrihed as black,
about 18" long. Brad was sure it was not a shotgun, more like a
"semi automatic". This person also had a 'pipe bomb" which Brad
desoribed as similar looking to a stick of dynamite. The man lit
this 'pipe l:>omb" with a lighter and threw it into the parking lot
towards some oars. The man then disappeared around the outside
corner staircase of the building. Brad recalled when he eaw this man
outside, he noticed 2-3 more "dynamite looking" bombs inside his
trenohooat. Brad believed this gunman to be alone as he saw no other
people with weapons.

Brad ran out of the oafeteria after ahout 2 minutes under the table
and followed most of the kids in the opposite direotion from the
gunfire. He desoribed this as through the center of the cafeteria to

1 JC-001· 003762
the concrete stairs which lead upstairs to the science area. lie
believe<i he was running upright. While going up the stairs he heard
and felt another loud blast, possibly behind him an<i noticed someone
laying on the floor near the steps. He ran into the nearest room,
which was one of the front soience rooms. Brad believed there is 4
or 5 science rooms which lead away from the main hallway. He was in
this room with about 9 students and one teacher. They put tables in
front of the door to protect themselves. A few minutes later scmscne
walked by the door where they had put tables in front of and stood
there. The person then fired a single round through the glass window
and into a table. Brad recalled wood and glass sprayed the roOltl,
but none was injured frOltl this. He did not see the person who fired
this round. The person did not enter the room.

A short time later, the group moved into a neighboring science

classroom, further back from the main hallway where about 20 kids
were hiding. The teacher, Douglas Kraft stayed with them. He
oontinued to hear gunshots and blasts outside the room. He said
everyone was very scared, but they remained as quiet as possible. He
helieved about 3 hours later, SWAT members rescued the group and
escorted them out of the school.

Brad stated that later he recognized Dylan Klebold on TV as the

gunman he saw outaide the cafeteria around 11:30am. He stated be
does not know Dylan Klabold, but bas seen him around school as a
student. Brad describe<i Dylan Klebold as a loner and would hang out
with guys that wore trenchcoats, but did not know any of there names.
Brad stated he did not see anything unusual at the school before
11:30am on 4/20/99, nor did he nave any i."lformation regarding other
students who may have been involved.

On 4/27/99 I went back to Brad Miller's home to clarify his specific

location in the CBS cafeteria at 11:30am on 4/20/99. Brads parents
were also present for this interview. I provided Brad a drawing of
the cafeteria, which depicted all the tables and their location in
the cafeteria. I pointed out specific areas, such as the food line,

2 JC.()01.oo3763
kitchen, and west windcws of the cafeteri" ta give Brad a better
understanding of the lay-aut in this drawing,

He looked at the drawing and stated he was seated at either table CC

ar IT near the windaws. arad circled both of these tables on the
drawing, but could not be specific as ta which table. He stated he
was seated facing the kitchen, and Nathan Anema and Tyler Stark, both
CHS students were seated with him across the table. He believed
Nathan was on his right facing the west windows.

Brad recalled that he came down the concrete stairs alene about
11:20am, stopped at 'rebel corner" to buy a salad for lunch. Rebel
corner is at the bottom of the concrete stairs towards the south
student entrance. He noticed no unusual duffle bags in the
cafeteria, and stated "there are hundreds of backpacks in there". I
asked specifically about a large duffle bag, he reiterated that he
saw nothing unusual. He purchased his salad and walked alone through
the middle of the cafeteria, at an angle towards his table. He
believed that Nathan and ~Jler were arriving at the table at the same
time he was. He had just sat down when a teacher yelled n get down'.

Brad stated he was wearing a dark blue t-shirt, tan pants and white
hat on 4/20/99. He left a black Jansport backpack on the floor near
his table. The backpack had books and school notebooks in it.
