servicelinewherehe got his lunch. and after reruming to histable. he sat on the east side of the table and was facing: west. which
allowed him to look out the west cafeteria windows

r asked Jean what flI"Si brought his attention that something was wrong in the cafeteria. He stated when he: was looking west that
he observed several students who wereseatedover near the westwindows stand up, and then drop to the floor,at which nme he
described an unidentified female, he couldn't tell me if she wasa student or a faculty member. wearinga red shirt. come running
in the northwest cafeteria doors. and the female was yelling something. but he couldn't tell me what she was saying Jean
remained seatedat the table. and he remembers a teacher by the nameof Ms. Brug, who was off to his right. start yellingat him
telling him to get down under the tables Jean said as he startedto get down on the floor, he recalled seeing a large plume of
white smoke coming from the Senior parking lot. Jean told me he still had no idea what was going on because he didn't hear
anysoundsof eithergunshots or explosions. Jean statedsoonafter theplumeof smoke in the SeniorparkingJot. that the students
-rver near the west windows started to run east towards the stairs of the cafeteria. He told me himself and Tiffany Spevak
remained at their table because they feared they were goingto be trampled by other students. After several of the student had
clearedthe cafeteriaarea. Jean and Tiffany picked their backpacks up and walked to the hallway just off of the kitcbenarea.and
proceeded into the auditorium. after it was unlocked by ajanitor Jean told me there were severalother students.along with two
teachers, :vIr Andreas Sr and Jr., that went into the aw;Htorium where they lockedall of the doors. Jean was asked if he heard
any gunshots or explosions at this time, He-told me he recalled \k Andreas Jr walk up to the top of the auditorium, and opened
the doors Jean stated shortlyafter Mr Andreas. Jr. openedthe doors,he heardwhat sounded like a shotgunblast. and thought
Mr. Andreas. Jr. had been shot when he opened the doors. Shortly after hearing the shot. Mr Andreas. Jr reappeared in the
auditorium. and he told me at mat point. he wasn't sure where the shotgun blast had come from. The students and the facutry.
fearing they weren't safe within the auditorium, exited via a southeast exn from the auditorium. which allowed them to gain
access into the foreign language hall. They ran to the end of this hall, and ran OUt an emergencyexit. which put them in the
Junior parking lot. After they reached the parking lot theyran east to Leawood Park,and remained there for a short period of
time They then ran into the subdivision east of the park. where they sought refuge in a house"

Jean was asked if he ever observed gunmen while he was in vie cafeteria. or if he ever observed any gunmen out west of the
cafeteria. He told me that he never observed any gunmen whileat the school.

Jean was asked if he knew about the TrenchCoat Mafia.and specifically Eric Hartis or Dylan Klebold. He told me h. did not
know Klebotd, but he knew Hams because he had German class wirh him for three years. Jean was asked if he heard of any
rumors of anything that was going to occur on Q4..20..99, and he said he did not hear anything. I asked him ifhe had any other
information [0 pass 00. Jean told me after the initial shooting, that himself and a few friends had gone over to the Columbine
Public Library. and h. recallsan associatecf'the TrenchCoat Mafia, who showed up at thelibrary. He describedthe individual
lIS being very tall. quite ugly, and was wearing a pink tidiedshirt. Initially, he couldn't ",II me who the individual was. H.
referred to his yearbookand identified that party as being Robert Perry. He told me h. thought It was peculiarthat this person,
associated with the TrenchCoot Mafia, wouldshow up afterthis Incident. J asked him ifhe knew Hartis had a Website, and be
said he was not awareof that. Jean wasasked ifbe hadgone: to the promand the after prom party He sai-d he did. I asked him
if he observed Hams or Kleboldat the prom. He told me he does not recallseeing either one of them there

Jean was asked to describe his clothing on the incident date. He said he was wearing black baggy jeans, a. white ADIDAS shirt
vith black sleeves. and a pair of shoes.

At the ccmpletiorr of my interview, I had Jean diagram where he was seated in the cafeteria and depict his route out of the
cafeteria. A copy of that map is attached with. this supplemental report.

[ verified that Jean did not see any gunmen whitt: at the school. and be did net observe- the two large duffle bags that I had
describedearlier in the cafeteria area.

RIECKS was interviewed at his residence at 11:00 AM on May 20, 1999. Present during the
interview was his mother, Sue RIECKS.

Investigation reveals that Daniel RIEIjIK

' older brother MatthewRlECKS is
friend. Daniel RIECKS who knows through Matthew's association with him, said
~s a quiet person, and seems a nice guy.

RIECKS was in the cafeteria at the time of the shootings. H~ home later that evening,
however, whe~was at the RlECKS home. _ h a d come to RIECKS' home
because of his c~'s welfare. Most of the conversanonRIECKS heard was
discussion of where everyone was when lbe Incident occurred. They looked up pictures of Eric
HARRIS and Dylan KLEBOLD in Matt RIECKS' yearbook.

Sue RIECKS, mother ofDanie! and Matthew, said when ~t came to the house, he
made the statement that his parents woke him up and told~ happened. _ a t h e r
drove him to me RlECKS home. He arrived about 7:30 PM to 8;00 PM. Later, ather
came to pick him up, and after they all visited for a time, the~eparted about 9;30 PM.

Daniel RIECKS described that _and Matt RIECKS talked about HARRIS and
KLEBOLD and about how those two were not really part of !he trench COli! mafia (TCM),
RIECKS said "talked about how the group was becoming too violent toward him, and
more aggressive toward the "jocks". I asked wbat"meant by this, but RIECKS did not

OBSERVATION / INVESTIGATION:
On May S, 1999 I was assigned ~~ interview with columbine High school
student Sarah RoaSberry. Rcssberry was possibly in the cafeteria at the
time of the shooting on April 20, 1999. I spoke to Jeanne Peterson,
Sarah's mother, and made on appointment for an interview for May 11th at
1l,OOAM.
On May 11th at 1100 I arrived at 8769 West Cornell Ave. #5 and
contacted Sarah Roasberry. Sarah confirmed t~~t she was a ninth grader at
columbine and that she had been in school and in the cafeteria on April
20th.
Sarah continued to say that she arrived in the cafeteria at about
1l:10AM. She advisecl that She was sitting at table identifed as "KK".
Sarah continued to say that she was sitting with the following people:

Sarah said that she did not notice any large duffel bags in the
cafeteria when she arrived, nor did she see anyone carry such a bag into
the cafeteria while she was there. Sarah said that her first indication of
trouble came when she saw other students in the cafeteria diving uP-der
tables. Then Brianna and a Dustin Hoffschneider, who was sitting at table

identified as "LL" told her to get down and they had a gun. At this time
Mr. Sanders also came running by telling the students to get down. Sarah
said that she heard a gun shot at this time. Sarah said that she got under
the table and started to cry and panic. Sarah said that she was under the
table for about thirty to forty' five seconds when a group of students broke
~~d ran for the .stairs leading to the library and south main laval hall
way. Sarah said that she got up and ran with the group. Sarah stated that
she ran east in the south hall and out of the building by way of the math
door, located at the east end of the south hall. Sarah said that she went
to a hcuse near Leawood Park where she was let in. She advised that she
remained in this house until she heard that the gunmen were loose. She
said that she paniced and left the first house and hid in a yard at a
second house. After a period of time she returned to the first house, and
a lady who lives there took her to Leawood Elementary School. Where her
mother picked her up.
Sarah said that she did not see who was doing the shooting and did not
see anyone with a gu.~ either before the shooting started or during the time
the shots were being fired. Sarah continued to say that while she was in
the stair way and south hall that she did not she anyone Shooting or with a
gun.
Sarah stated that she did not know either Eric Harris or Oylan
Klebold, nor did she know anyone who was a member of the Trench Coat Mafia.
She further advised that none of her friends associated with or were
members of the Trench Coat Mafia.
Sarah related that she had heard no rumors about possible trouble at
the school on April 20th before the twentieth. The only r~mor she heard
was that possibly the seniors might be shooting paint balls at other
students as it was senior prank day. Sarah continued to say that the only
thing she saw that seemed unusual involved three male subjects she observed
in the north main level hall about 7:20AM on the morning of the twentieth
who were wearing camouflage clothes. Sarah said that she did not know
these people.
sarah said that she did leave her hack pack in the cafeteria, and
described it as a blue East ?ack. She said the pack oontained her
notebooks, geometry and spanish books, and a wallet with her school
identification in it.
Sarah could provide no additional information and the interview
concluded at 11:30.

On April 27, 1999, this investigator met with Shawn Roberts at

his residence. He advised that he had gone to the cafeteria after
completion of his fourth hour History class on the first floor of
the school. He believed that he entered the cafeteria at
approximately 11:15 a.m. and after obtaining his lunch from tr~ food
service area, he sat down at a table with several of his friends~

He identified those students as: GREG GARCIA

KRISTIN (LKU)
DUSTIN GORTON
RICHARD GREEN
BRETT KOSTALINICK
DAN LAB

He stated that after approximately five minutes, he saw Dave

sanders enter the cafeteria, waving his arms, indicating that he
wanted all the students to get down. He advised that he then heard a
loud explosion which he thought could have been a glli' shot, possibly
a shotgun. He said he is familiar with that sound. He believed that
the sound came from outside the west door. He said he stayed under
the table for approximately fifteen seconds and observed many of the

stuctents running from the cafeteria up the stairs. He advised that
he began to crawl away towards the kitchen area and his friends
followed. He and his friends went to the very back of the kitchen
and saw that there were some ten to fifteen people already there. He
stated that he then hearct a loud blast from the cafeteria area and
saw alot of smoke. He said that there was a laundry room adjacent to
the kitchen which he and many others went into and locked the door
from the inside. He guessed that there were about eighteen persons
in that room. He said four of those were cafeteria workers and two
or three were teachers, one of whom was, MR. KRITZER. He advised
that he could hear the sound of gunfire which to him sounded like
that made by a shotgun. He said he could also hear occasionally the
sound of chatter on a walkie-talkie and footsteps - people walking
around. He thought perhaps the police were outside but did not want
to open the door. He advised that he heard more shots while in the
closet and said those sounded as though they were coming from the
floor above them. He described them as "pop, pop, pop" then quiet,
then, "pop, pop, pop," followed by the "boom" which to him sounded
like that of a shotgun. He also described hearing noise which
sounded like shouting and wrestling on the floor.

He advised that at one point while in the room, a janitor

opened the door and got inside with them. He believed he and the
others were inside the room for close to two hours. He said at some
point, he could hear more "walkie talkie" like chatter and yelling
and thought that this was from SWAT officers. After some loud
pounding outside the door. Me. Kritzer opened the door and the
officers had all of them go through the teachers lounge area and out
a window which had been broken out.

Shawn advised that he had been wearing blue jeans, a white

Columbine band T-shirt, a black ball cap which had Iron Maiden in
red letters, and a apir of black "Doc Martens." He advised that
there had been a s~~ll spot of blood on the back of his shirt, from
an unknown origin, which has since been washed out, He said some of
the students who had been inside the room had removed their shirts
and thoae had been left in the room.

are but did not see them that day. He said he did not associate with
them.

CBS student, Cafeteria witness.

on May 12, 1999, this investigator met with Samantha Roman at

her residence. Present during the interview were her parents! Robert
and Janita Roark.

Samantha advised that he had arrived in the cafeteria at

approximately 11:15 a.m. having come from the Family and Consumer
Studies Hall on the upper level near the school administration
offices. She was shown a sketch of the cafeteria and indicated that
she had been at table "DOD.' She said others at her table included:
Danielle Stanek, Sarah Anderson, Sara Ryan, and Tina Chavez. She
stated that she had been at the table for about five minutes when
she saw three students ~~ing and one was shouting, 'two guys have
guns out there." She heard someone say, "get down." Samantha said
that in just a few minutes, everyone in the cafeteria began running.
she said that she ran upstairs and down the hallway which is between
the math and social studies rooms, east to the door at the end of
the hall and then ran out to Leawood park.

but commented t.hat she would have recognized them if she had seen
them. She said she had no knowledge of any nunors about the
trenchcoat people. She did not know what. the ·phrase of the day·
was. She advised that in addition to her blue backpack left in the
cafeteria, her lacrosse clothes and school books were in her locker.
She said she left a lacrosse stick in one of the soienoe rooms.

On May 10, 1999 at aboudlOO hours I contacted Nicholas Romanyshyn and his father,
George Rornanyshyn by telephone for the purposes of an interview. Nicholas stated that
be had spoken to a Detective reference the incident at Columbine several days ago while
he was at Eric Veik's house. Records in the RapidStart Information Data Base indicate
lhat Eric Veik has been assigned to lhe foUowing control numbers: 1450,2128 and 2514.
It is believed that control number 2514 is the interview with Eric Veik and Nicholas
Romanyshyn, conducted by Detective Voderohe.

Mr. Rornanyshyn was hesitant at first. but did allowsomefollow up questions to be

asked over the phone in regards to the April20.1999 incident at Columbine High School.

going on out on the hill (west side of cafeteria)", Nick slated that there were people
"running aroundand a person bleedingand limping", Nick stated that he could no!

teacherto go into a "Biology class and then the greenhouse"where they stayed until
they were rescuedby SWAT members later in the incident, Nick denies hearingany

• Nick stated that he is "aware of the Trench Coat Mafia" and knows Eric Harris and
Dylan Klebold. He stated thaI Eric is I was in his Video Productionclass with Mr.
Talocco, He Staled that he "knew him from class only and never really hung out or
anything like that". He stated that knew Dylan from Theater productions, but again,
di9 not "hang out with Dylan". He staredthat he "knew they were the TeM",

denies hearing anything in or around school that wouldhave led him 10 believe that
this was going to happen.

• Nick did state however, that he did have a brief,but interesting conversation with
Harris on April 19"', 1999during 2"" hour Video Production. Nick stared mat he was
in the hall (main hall by the corner of the Library) "doing some video filming" with
Ryan Seichertand Mike Van Dinea (sic). Nick stated that "Eric came in the hall and
sat down and wantedto know if he was in the wayT. Nick stated that he told Eric
"no" and asked Eric "what are you doing?", Nick slated that Eric replied with "just
working on some plans for tomorrow". Nick stated that he did not carry the
conversation any further than that and "never gave it another thought". Nick stared
that this conversation was "typical conversation between the two of them".

the interview:i.ng lIgent and the .I'urpou Qf the interview. Also
present during the interview was her mother, Cyenthia Margetts.
Rosecrans provided the follewing information,

Rosecrans ~~t to school at approximatelY 8:20 a.m. and

attended claas from 8:20 a.m. until 9:20 a.m. Rosecrans was in
analytical reading trom 9:25 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. A Chinese
student is also in this class who went home sick, however, she
appaared wall to Rosecrans cl1J,r1ng class. ilosscrana went to her
foods elass from 10:20 a.m. until 11:10 a.m.
At approximately 11:10 a.m., Rosecrans went to her car,
which is pal:ked in space numl;er 140.Rosecrans left tha school
in her car and headed toward clement Park to get lunch when she
realized that she did not have any money. Roaecrans returned
back to ths sehool at approximately 11:20 a.m. When Rosecrans

approximat.ely one to twe minute. when .he heard a huge bOOQl.
!Ioaeorans thought that the aoienee teacher tlIWIt bave blown
something up. Then Roaeorane heard popping sounds upstair. in
the school. Rosecrans thought that 80meone had come down into
the commons area and was shooting. Rosecrans did not see anyone,
but heard loud shots. ROll"'erans ran out of the lower level south
doors and to Che souCh end of ehe parking lot. !Iosecrans
proceeded west a.long the fem:e a.nd then she got into her car.
App~oximately eight othe~ students, juniors and 'Oph01ll0~.S, got
into !Iosecrans ca~. Roaecrans drove to Clament Parle Other cas
students we~e running toward Clemsnt park. Rosecrans .believes
that she saw Harris' BMW in the senior lot, but not in his space.
!Iosecrsns was mlllt .by the police at the park. Rosecrans dri ves a
1'94 teal green Honda Civic.

!oSecrans identified a Robert Last Name unknown as an

associate of Harris' and Kle.bol~s who was into death.
Sarah Anderson said that she saw someone running down
the sohool stairs and shooting.
Trevor Stark had a confrontaCion with Harris in the
school hall On the day prior to the lhooting.. Harris stated to
him "Have a niCe day tomorrow."

Rosecr;a:ns was not !'lefor l.l.achel scott when she was shot
and does not: kl:lcw any specifics of her shooting.

On 08-03·99, I contacted Columbine High Schoolstudent Ambrosia Rosettaby phone I asked Rosettaabout tile events which
occurred on 04-20·99 at Columbine High School. This report is connected to DN#3025.

ttosena stated on 04-20·99. she attended her classes in the morning. The fourth period class was Keyboarding with Mr.
Sanders, That class got out at 1110hours. Rosetta then went to the cafeteria, Shesat at. table that she describedas two rows
fromthe stairs and t'NQ rows in fromthe windows. Rosettahadnot beenin the cafeteriaprior to leavingher fourth periodclass
She statedthat whileshe was Inthe cafeteria,shedidn't seeanyoneholdinganything thatappeared to be heavy Rosetta stated
'he did not see any suspect while in the cafeteria, Sitting at her table with her were Nat Bruce. Jessica Carzcla. Brandy
Clingbileand Matt Hill.

Rosetta stated she firstknewsomethingwaswrong when fellow studentBenSchumanncame to theirtableandsaid, "You guys.
someonegot shot. You've got to getout of'bere.' Aboutthis same time,Rosetta heardsomeoneyelling for the studentsto get
under the tables. She got under the table she wassitting at. She statedher first instinct was to pray and she prayed with those
who were underneathher table with her.

I askedif she had lookedout the Windows at all during this time, She statedshe did not. Rosettastated she neversaw shooters,
nor did she see any weapons. Rosetta stated she saw people running toward the stairs. She stated the students began going

upstairs. Shealso ran to the stairsand went upstairs. At thetop of the stairs, she entered into the nearestclassroomshe could
find, This was Mrs. Williams' Science room. She stated Mrs. Williams and her students went into the room know as the
"Green Room." Shejoined them and remainedthere untilthe SWAT team rescuedher. RosettaSlated that whilein the room,
she could hear the fire alarm sounding and site could hear a lot of shooting.

Rosettastated the only dear thing she recalls hearing was somebody out in the hallway yelling either "You're all going die-
or "1 want to die," She exited the school by going down the stairway through the cafeteria. out the west cafeteriadoors.then
up the outside stairways where she was met by other law enforcement at the top of the stairs.

Rosettastaredtbar there was a girl in the Green Room whose nameshe did not know. who was very hysterical. The girl was
saying that there were eight suspects In trench coats in the school. She Slatedthat the SWAT officers spoke to this girl when
the class was rescued.

At 0900hours. DI:1 04..1!~99, 1contacted KennyDaniel Rupp at South Pierce Streetand Weaver Avenue, in reference to J First
Degree vlurcer which occurred on 04-;0-99 at Columbine High School, located at 6~Ol South Pierce Street in Littleton.
Colorado. at approximately 1[30 hours,

Rupp stated sometime be-tween 1100 and 1130hours on OJ..20~99, he was in the cafeteria of \ne school. which rs located on
.ne lower southwest comer of the building, Hit told: me he was sitting next to the windows at the northwest corner of the
cafeteria near the Coke machines. Rupp stated he was: facing outwards. toward the parking lot at his table He told me lunch
had just Started. and tt was the first lunch period ofthe cia:- Rupp stated the lunch room was fulL and believed (here might have

been 900 students inside the cafeteria.

Rupp stated there were people also eating just outside the cafeteria. when he saw a cloud of smoke in the parking lor. which
is located southwestof his location He stated he saw a \\hlle male run up the exterior stairs, which is locatedjust west of his
location He raid me this person waswearing a blackshirt and black boors, He informed me that he had neverseen this person
before

Rupp informed me he saw a secondwhite male walk past thecafeteria window, just rive feet from the building He statedthis
person was walkingnorth toward the exterior stairs that the: other person ran up. He described this person as wearing a long
blacktrench coat, black boors. and had dirty blond hair. Healso stated this personwas wearinga Boston Red Socks baseball
cap, and was wearing it backwards, He stated this person wascarryinga shotgun in his left hand. and a handgun in his right.
-ossibly a 38, He stated he had pipes inside his pants, and walked towardthe steps.

Aleia RUSSELL confirmed the account that she had been in the cafeteria at the time
the shooting began. She said she had been sitting (>11 the ledge by the exterior windows
by the Student store with her sister Janell, and VeronicaNUNCIO and another studentshe
knew only as Alicia,

ALEiA first noticed students in the cafeteriajumping up and running outside, Shortly
after this Mr. Sandel'S came up and told them to "get downr- which they did, She then
overheardan unidentified student saying someone was shooting, At this same time
studentsbegan running in fromoutside, after which theyalso laid down in an apparent
attempt to hide from something outside. She watched as a unidentified malejanitor ran
up the exit doors by the studentstore, lookedout, and then ran back to the area of the
stairs in the cafeteria.

ALElA said she could not hear any explosions or shootingover the commotion, but
thought tnis must have been occurring by the west end of the cafeteria due to the hysteria
in that area. After what she estimated was about three to five minutes she ran Out the exit
by "Rebel Corner," the student'S store. She thenran alongside thejunior parking lot,
crossed Pierce Street, with about twenty other students. She added mat her sister Janell
Russell had ran anotherdirection,

ALElA said she did not know any of the persons said by the media coverage to have.
been involved, but had previously seen them around schocl.

ALElA added that she did not see anything out of the ordinaryin the cafeteria. nor
did she see enyone carryinganything other thantypical items such as backpacks. and
personal articles.

Janell RUSSELL confirmed the accountthat she had been in the cafeteria at the time
the shootingbegan. She provideda similaraccount as her sister, Aleia had saying said
they had been sitting on the ledge by the exterior windows by the student store with

JANELLsaid she had not noticedanything unusualin the cafeteria. nor anyone
carrying anything remarkable prior to the shooting began. She first became aware of the
shooting when an unidentified student ran in from outside saying that a girl had gotten
shot. Just prior to this JANELLhad heard what she thought were about two to three
fireworks explode outside fromthe directionof the soccer fields.

JANELLsaid several students ran outside,includingVeronica NUNCIO and Alicia

MAES, to see what was happening. Shortly after this the two returned saying they had
seen "guys with guns."

JA.1\fELL recalled Mr. Sandersand an unidentified janitor telling them to "get down:'
which they did. Shortlyafter this she watched a fewstudents attempting to see what was
going on outside, after which they began screaming, "here they come!" lANELL said
she and many others stood and ran out of the school. JANELL said she ran down the

On 5127199, at 0930 hours, I spokewith Janell Russell on thephone. I hadpreviously talked withher mother.
Janell stated she was a Junior at the timeof the shooting. She arrived at the school at approximately 0720 to
0725 hours being takenby her parents. She entered through themain entrance. Shesaw nothing unusual
outside.

First hour she has Foodsclass, second hourSpanish, third hour Gym, fourth hourHistory in the library, and she
has "An lunch. She stated she wentdownthe stairs entering the cafeteria approximately 1111 to 1112 hours.
She stated the cafeteria was full andshe went and stood by the Rebel ComerStore. Shewas withAlicia Maes,
her sister Aleia, and VeronicaNuncio.

Janellstated thata student came in yellingthatsomeone had been shot outside. She said a large group of kids
ran outside, and at this time she thought it was a prank. Theneveryone tan back inside saying that therewere
xuys withgunsoutside. Mr. Sanders and thejanitor ran through the cafeteria telling people to get down. She

OnApli120. 1999, whileassistingwith interviews on the sceneof. multiplehomicideat Columbine HighSchool,I interviewed
a Columbine studentnamed ShannonRyan. Shetoldme thatshe andseveralof her friendswerein thecafeteriawhenshe heard
a commotion. She and her friends thought that a fight had SWledoutside of the lunchroom. so they wenl 10 the windows.
When they lookedoutside, they saw a male that had been shotand whowas lying 00 the groundoutside. AI about this same
time. a teacher yelled "get down,"

Ryan wid me that she and several others "crawled" into the kitchenarea of the school. They barricadedthe door to a store
room. and Ryantold me that she could hear gunshots outside ofthe roomwheretbey were lriding. At one point,Ryan toldme
that a student named JeremyMullin tried to i"1 into the room with them, but they would not open the door becausetheywere
afraid.

INYESTIGATION;

On 05-05-99. at about II 04 am.. I interviewed CHS student Shannon Ryan as follow up on DN2483, The interviewwas
conducted at Shannon's home, in the presence of her parents. Stan and Susan Ryan,

Shannon told me that on 04·20·99, at about 11;iO a.m.. she hadJust finished her fourth period Spanish class. which is located
On the school's lower level. After leaving class. Shannon walkeddirectly to me cafeteria with fellow student Brandi Wiseman
(IOthi. who is in her Spanish class. Upon entering the cafeteria.Shannon said that she and Brandi sat their backpacksdown
at table T or U. and that Brandi remained with her until the arrivalof student Tasha Olson. with whom Shannon usually sits
during lunch, Upon Tasha Olson's arrival. which Shannonsaid was within a minute or two. Brandl departed to sit with her
friendswhile Shannon and Tasha walked to the pop machines located in 'he southeast comer of the cafereria. Shannon said
that upon reaching said pop machines. they discovered that 'hey were no, working, Shannon said that she and Tasha then
walked north. next to the interiorstairway. and then west. pataUe! to the serving line, en route to the pop machines located tn
the cafeteria's northwest comer,

Shannon said that as she and Tasha walked westward. parallel to the serving line and near tables BBB / AAA. a "kid came in
and said there was a fight outside," Shannon said that this kid, whom she could not identifY. came from the northwest comer

line to the (west) windows near tables VV and WW Upon reaching the windows, Shannon said that she and Tasna looked
outside and saw a male student lying on the ground, directly outside thedoor, WIth a reacher leaning Over him "wlth herhand
On his shoulder." Shannon saidthatthe teacher, a female whom shecouldnot identitY, appeared to be comforting thestudent
At thattime, Shannon said that teacher Dave Sanders wasstanding at !hedoorway, but still inside, next to the female teacher
Shannon said thatDaveSanders theaentered thecafeteria anil yelled foreveryone to get down, ShedId notsee where he went
from there. Shannon said that immediately after hearing Dave Sanders say this. she ducked down under table v'v or WW
(vdeflnitely not UU")and then heard "threeor four" gunshots. Shannon said thatthe gunshots appeared to her to have been
cornmg from "outside, in the parking lot" Shannon saidthat thegunshots sounded I ike pops, andcame in rapid succession

After about". minute and a half," andwithout attempting to lookoutside. Shannon saidthatshe then began to crawl trorn table
VVor WWtoward the teacher'slounge Shannon saidthatshe did notenterthe teacher's lounge, but continued to crawl into
thekitchen area. behind the serving line, Shannon saidthat when shereached the kitchen area, she stoodupand noticed a "little
storage room that people were going into," Shannon said that she then entered ttus storage room. which contained "about
seventeen otherpeople," including students Tasha Olson (lOth), Brandi Wiseman (lOth), Tanya Worlock (10th), Lindsay Wyant
(lOth), Richard Green (10th), Manhew Depew (10th) and two unidentified female kitchen workers. Shannon saidthatsomeone
thenshut the door. and that they"stoodaround because no one knew whatto do."

At that lime, Shannon said she heardwhat she thoughtwas "too loud10 be a gunshot:' surmising it was an explosion.ccmmg
from outside the storage room door, Shannon said that upon hearing this, she and the others inside the storage room
immediately got downonto thefloor. Shannon saidthatthey remained on thefloor fora few minutes, at which nrne"we found
a phone inthere." Shannon saidthatstudent Matthew Depew then used the phone andcalled "Detective Lietz" (laterIdenttfied
by Denver Detective Mark Woodward as Officer John Lietz. Mark saidthat Matthew Depew had first attempted to call 9) 1.

did by using two oxygen tanks, sack' of flour, assorted boxesand food items. Shannon'aid that it remained quiet for a wlnle.
but ,hat at one pomt,she and others heard keys rattling from outside the storage room door. and that the door handle moved
Sharmon alsosaid that at times. she and the others couldhearpeopletalkingoutside the storage roomdoor. Shannon said that
there was a lighton inside the storageroom, and that theycontinued W hearsporadic gunshots (shesaid theywere"pops" that
soundedlike"someonestepping on bubble wrap")coming from outside thestorageroom door. Shannon said that at times. she
heardwhat sounded "like peoplejumping up and down" upstairs. in or nearwhat she thought was the library

Shannon estimated thal she and the others remained insidethe storage room for "maybe two and a half hours." Shannon Said
that it gradually becamequieter. WIth the last gunshots being heard during their last hour inside the storage room Shannon
thinks it was around3:00 p.rn, whena SWAT ream found them and ushered themout of the schoolby way of a (weSt) broken
window inside the reacher's lounge. from there. Shannon said they were all taken to a comer of the huilding. near the
gymnasium. where they were searched and then placed into patrolcars.

Shannon said that upon entering the cafeteria,and while waiting for Tasha, she did not notice any dum. bag(s) or anything
unusualor out of the ordinary. Shannon said that everythmg seemed "routine" to her. Shannon said that she never saw any
shooterts) Or anyone wearing a trench coat. either outside or inside, Shannon said that when she first walked to the west
windows with TashaOlson,her attention was focused on the individuallyinll near the door. and that she did not look beyond
that or up the exteriorstairway

Shannon said that she left her backpack sitting on tableT or U.

Shannon said thatshe did not personally know Erie Harris or DylanKlebold, nor any of the names presented by the media as
known associates of them, The interviewwas concludedat about 11 :45 a.m,

On 04-:9·99, at 0900 hours, I responded to 6936 South Saulsbury Stl'eet for an interview with Cassandra Sadusky and her
mother, Beth Sadusky Cassandra Sadusky advised me of the following,

She said on Q4.Zo-'/9, at about 11 !7 hours. she cameinto the cafeteriaofColumbine High School on her lunch break'0 eat lunch,
Cassandra Saduskysaid 'he put her backpackon a chair at the !lIble she had selected '0 sit at to eat. She then walked up to the
serving line, get into line, and a friendof'hers by the name of'Jadara T.liafeITo was standing behindSadusky. Sadusky saidshe
had already gotten her food and was jim ready to leave the serving line when she hear<! the sound of numerous chairs being
pushed across the floor. and when she looked bo<:k she saw several other students gO! up out of their ehairs and run towardsher
and the serving line. She also said she hear<! one gunshoL Sarlusky said she and Taliaferrothen ran out ofthe cafeteria ioto the
bathroom area. where they hid underlb. sink. She O$n1lllUOd that they were hidingunder the sink for 30 to 4S minutes. andthen
they began walkingout afthe bathroom, but as theydid, four more students came running toWards them intothe sam. bathroom.
Saduskysaid the janitor,Jay Valentine or Valentino (she _ ' t sun). waswatl:hing the gunmen behindSadusky, and at thesame
time he was telling the Idds to runa certllin way, and motioningwith his finger forthem to run whilehe was watching to see what
the suspects actions were going to be. Sadusky said they began running. and they ran into the auditorium area, along with

not know if sbe could tell the difference in sound between them and a gunshot, Sadusky said it was unknown how Ion" these
students were in the auditorium area; however. after being in there fOT some time. they ran Out of the! auditorium towards L.'e
Foreign Language Department, and out the souihoast doors of Columbine High School, ",,11m they lhen ran across the street into
Leawood Park, Sedusky said although she did not hearany gunshots while she wasover near Leawccd Park.she later heardthat
gunshots had been heard by ether students in Leawood Park and they .11 scattered whenlhey heardthese shots.

I asked Sadusky if she was injured in any way. and she said no; however. she had to forcehe:'Se1fto concentrate on not rv.tisting'
her ankle or trippingbecause of rheshoes 'he hadon. Sadusky said she was wearing whitetall tennis shoes that h.d large heels
and sole, on them. and 'he was afraid while she was rumting away that she was gOIng to trip andfall down. so that was where
her eoncentranon was. Sadusky saidthe t<:nnis shoos havethreesilverstripe,on them. Shesaid she was alsowearing khaki pants

J asked Sadu.sky ifshe hadseen anybody carryingthe CWo largedafflebags intothecafeteria, or ifshesawanyof !heduffle bags
layingon the floorin the cafereea. I showed her the picture of a blueduffle bagand also a propane tank: however, she said she
doe' no!recognize those and doe' no' recall ,,,,,in,, them in the cafeteri. or being carried in. Sadusky said i' would have been
hard '0 see any of the dufflebags due to the fact that thrn was a large amount of srudents' backpacks in there that resemblea
dume hag.

1asked Sadusky if she knewEric Hams or DylanKlebold. and 'he saidno.she didnO! know them prior ttl this incident; however,
she was familiar somewhatwith the Trench Coat Mafia5tIldentS. Sadusky told meshe would estimate thereare five members
of the TrenchCoa,Mafia at Colwnbine Hi¥ School. and said'he didnoe associate with them. 50 shedoe' not know theit names.
Sadusky alsotoldme that theseTrench CoatMafia smdents are in!o!he G<ithic lifeStYle. Shesaid thOJi putmake-upon their face,

Sadusky said when she ran ourof the cafeteria on 04-20·99. she left. blue backpack, and the make of ir is Eastpack, laying on
the chair she had set it on when she went to get her food.

Lasked Sadusky ifshe knew anybody who wasfamiliar ""tIl making bombs or carried any type offirearms, and she said no. She
also said she has not seen any firearms or homo. with any orlbe 'tudentS at Columbine High School.

I asked Sadusky if she had the Internet. and 'he said yes. she did. r asked her what her screen name was. and she told me
"NIKESTUD2:' I asked her if she knewwhat the "thought of the day" was over the Rebel NewsNetwork,and she told me she
did not seethis personally: however, her soccer team mates 1.:01d her that it said. "Wished you weren't here today."

I asked Saduskyif she was dealing with this incident sufficiently. She advised she is having problems with it. and she is going
to go back to school on Monday, 05·03·99. and at that time 'he will talk about the incidentwith her friendswho were involved
-.she is still havi.n g problems, she will either set up counseling through her family's medical insurance or contact me, and I will
arrange for a meeting beew..n her. herparents, and JCSO Victim Advocate.

Columbine HighSchool. This interview was in reference 10 the shooting tlJat occurred on 4-20-99 at Columbine High School.

lsiah Salazar said while seated at this table, he saw \lark Offer suddenly run insideof tile cafeteria. Isiabsaid he did no, know
whichdoor or which partof the cafeteriathat Mark Offer iladentered originally, Isiah said that once Mark Offer ran inside ,il.
cafe-teria he began talking to a janitor. advising him of an unknown problem. blah said he believed that Vl'ark was probably
advising thejanitor that there wasa fight outsideof the cafeteria,however- Isiah was not sure of this. lsiah said'this janitor (name
unknown) began running through the cafeteria in a westerly direction towards the windows that overlook the exterior of the
cafeteria. Isiah said he saw another person by the name of~Ick Foss runoutside the cafeteria, Isiah said a teacher that was m
the cafeteriaadvisedall the st.1.1denrs inside to get downon the floor and undertheir tables. Isiahsaid he did get downon the floor

under his rabie and remained in that position for approximately one to two minutes Inah said that he saw severalpeople from
the cafeteria running in an easterly direction through the cafeteria and then ran ut' the stairs towards the second level of
Columbine High School I,iall 'aid he turned and ran outside of the "Rebel Corner" hallway, through the closest door. and
outsideof the school. Isiahsaid that while he had been in the cafeteria, he did not hear any gunshots. no explosions. nor did he
see any fires or smoke 011 the outSide onile insideof the cafeteria at Columbine High School. He said as he ronout of theschool
exiting the cafeteria area. he was with his friend named Travis Jones. He said that he did notice anything out of the ordinary
while he was running from tile erea [siall said after exiting tile school h. ran to a parking lot fur the higil school where coach
Martinand coach Capra told the studentsthat he was with, to keep running away from the school. [sian said that Travis and h.
ran to the area of either Peakview and Wadsworth or Calhounand Wadsworth, where an unknown female picked them up and
gave them a ride to a friend', residence. lsiah said that while he was running from the scene, and JUst prior to gernng to 'he
location where he got a rid. from the unknownfemale, ileheardwhat h. described as shotgun blasts, however.he couldnot tell

friend' residence he contacted his mother, Lola Salazar, by telephone. Lola said she received this call a' approximately 1130
to 1145 hours on 4-20-99.

Isiah Salazar told me that he only knew Dylan Klebold from a day care center at GoveInOTS Ranch. fsiah said that when he was

in the third grade Dylan Klebold was in the sixth grade and theywentto the same day care facility in Governor, Ranch I asked
Isiab whathe recalledabout Dylan Klebold, ami he said he did net recall anythingother than to say "Dylan was nice - Isiah sa-c
that he did not talk to Dylan Klebcldsince attendingthe day care centereven .hough they both attended Ken Caryl Junior High
School and then Columbine High School. Isiah said that he recalls seeing Dylan in Columbine High School, however. and
recalled that Dylan woreall blackclothingand wouldeitherweara blackjean jacket or a black trenchcoat that would hangdo" n
just past Dylan'5 knees. Isiah was unable to provideany further information about Dylan Klebold, I asked I,lab ifhe knew Eric
Harris. He said he did no' know Eric Harris at all and said tha' he had never seen Eric Hams prior '0 this incident. Isiah wid
me that he knew that the "Trench Coat Mafia"existed. however. otherthan that he did not have any further information about
the "TrenchCoat Mafia"students. He said that even though he sawthem in the h.1I he never did see anyone pick on 'h. "Trench
Coat Mafia" students. nor did he see the "Trench Coat Marla" students picking on other students ! asked Lsiah Salazar ;fhe
couldrecall any racial intimidation or racialharassment while at the school. and he said he did not see anyoneharass otherpeople,
nordid anybody racially Insult or pickon him. He also saidnoneof the "Trench CoatMafia"studentspicked on himeven 'hough
he is a football player and is on the track team for ColumbineHighSchool.

IsiahSalazarwas shown the diagramsof the cafeteriaat Columbine HighSchooland he: showed me where the table was that he
hadselected. lsiah said the table 'hat he had selectedand sat withhis friends on 4-2Q..99 is not on either of the diagrams I showed
him, however. he did point out the area where this table is located. This table would have been south of the main cafeteria in
the hall and directlyto the west of the "Rehel Comer." I shewed ISlab Salazar the photographs of me duffle bag and the propane

tank the, were later recovered insideof the cafeteriaat Columbine High School. Isiahsaid he did not recall seetngeitherOne of
rhese items either prior to or during the incident on 4-20-99 I asked lsiah if he knew of any other suspects who ma~ be
manufacturing explosive devices and/or possessing firearms, and he said that he had not heard of anyone.

Isiah Salazar told me that he did not know of anyone with. double pierced eyebrow and also told me that he does not use the

Internet, He said that he is aware of what the daily "thought of tho day" was over the Rebel Now, Network (R."IN), He mid me
that the thought of the day is shown during second bour, but said on 4-20·99, during second hour, he was in a gym class and
therefore was unable to see what the thought of the day was over the Rebel News Network,

Isiah Salazaradvised me that since the incident of 4--20..91) he has recovered the backpack that he left in the cafeteria when he
ran out, l'iab said he picked tha, UP during tho week of June I. 1999, I asked Isiah Salazar how well he has been, coping with
this incidentsince 4--20,,99, and he advised me thathe has hadno problemsdealing with it. 1asked his mother. LolaSalazar. what
she thought ofthe way he was coping with tho incident, and she also believed that he was doing well [gave both Isiah Salazar
and Lola Salazar one of my business cards and advised them !hat if they wished to talk with. JCSO Victim Advocate in the
future to contact me and I would make the necessary arrangements for them.

On 04-27·99 at 1715 hours, Detective McGlynn and I ,ntel'\llewea Laurel Salerno I~ me presence of her
parentsat her home, Laurel stilted she got II rideto sohool from her mother on 04·20·99, arriving at apprcxrrnately
0705 hours. Throughout the interview, Laurel stressed thal day seemed like a perteclly normal day She stated
she did not notice anything abno~al going around the school. She slated that when she arrived at ihe school
it was very early and not many students were there. She entered through the main entrance and went to lhe
cafeteria.
Laurel stated she had seen KLESOLO and HARRISbelore and knewthem by sight but did not knowtheir
names She did not see them or anyonein the -trench coat mafia' group that moming. She stated she entered
the cafeteria from the second floor going down the stairs at approximately 1110 hours. She stated she brought
her lunch so she Immediatelywent to a table and sat down. She indicatell which labie she thoughtshe might have
sat at on the attached diagram. She slated Ihat she did not nonce any bag, duffle bag, or backpack out of place
in the cafeteria She stated there were many kids in the cafeteria at that time, praotically all of them having a

Shortly after she sat dOWl1. the people at the six tablesto the west of her got up, went to the Window and
lookedout, She stated she thought there mighthave been a fight outside but was not sure She statedthe kids
then returned to their seats and sat down, Shortly after that she heard a noise she describedas gunshots After
the gunshots another rreshman named Chris Markum ran into the cafeteria throughthe northwest exit doors of
the cafeteria yellJng for everyone to gel down, Laurel statedChris ran all throughthe careteria and then upstairs
yelling this,
Laurel stamd she saw one of the lunch ladies look out through the west Window, then run back 10 the
kitchen area, Immediately after ll1at, Mr Sanders came in from the facuay lounge east door leading to the
cafeteria, She stated he leakedout then called out, 'Kids. a gun, get down" Laurel stated he hada very serious
look on his lace and she knew he was senous. At tl'lis time she heard gunshotswhich she thought was coming
from the same gun and it was shooting continuously She stated a jannor went to this door and looked like he
ias. 'fiddling" with something on the door, She stated this janftcr Was tl'le heavy-setjanitor with a round face.
Laurel stated about this time all the kids in the cafeteria ran east away trcm the windows,
Laurel stated that she was in a group of kids that ran east of the kitchen area behind a wall still in the
cafeteria area. She stated there was a bethroom in the same area however. there were too many kids to all fit
in the bathroom. She estimated therewere 50 kidswith her Aboutthis time Mr Andres. Jr., a teaehercame and
open up the auditorium doors from the area that she was hiding in. At this time she stated the lights started to
flickerInthe cafeteria. Once in the auditorium they hesitated brieflyon the stagethen went out the northeast door
of the auditorium, She stated she ran to the hallway that leadto the outside by the gymnasium, She stated she
was with about fifteen kids as they left out throughthis door. She stated they then ran to Clement Park.
She stated she left her backpack on the tablewhichshedescribed as a greenJansport with a front pocket
Insidethe backpackshe had a blackbinder. a purplebinder, twoLooney Tunesfoiders. a TI-86 calculator penCils
pens. and her school 10. She statedshe was wearing denim shortswith an Old Navywhite T-shirt, and sandals
She went on to say that she did not know KLEBOLD or HARRtS personally, but knew HARRIS by sight
just from seeing him in the hallwayS. She stated that she waS aware of the 'trench coat mafia" even before she
went into high school. hearing about them when she was in the 8~ grade, She knew a Robert Perry as being a
part of this group. She stated he was in a debate class with her and she desCl'lbed 3,'i a very nice guy She stated

Laurel stated that one of her best friends, KatieThompson, was a good friend of ERIC HARRIS Ka~e 'S
a freshman and was asked to go to the prom by ERIC HARRIS She stated Katie was not allowedto go because
her mother wouldn't allow it. Laurel stated Katie knew that ERIC HARRIS liked her but he was one she d not
normally go out with. She described him as "different' having a dlfferent look,
At this lime Laurel's mother, Diane Salerno added information about an incident that happened at
Columbine High School on Sunday, 04·18·99, She stated she was with Laurel In the senior parkIng lot lelling
Laurel practice drlvlng the family vehicle, This occurredsometime between 1500 and 1630 hours, She $lated as
they were driving around the parl<.Ing lot, a black sports car drove in to the lot and Immediately parked near the
northwest porlton of the parking lot. She staled three guys got out of the car which she described as being a little
beat up, The three boys appeared to be seniorsor elder and theywalked up the hili on the west side ot the school,
northbound. She stated she lost sight of them for approximately one minute and then they returned to their
~hicle, She stated they then drove away Mrs, Salemo stated this seemed very peculiar sinpe there was no one
else around the building and they seemed to have a definite purpose and place they were headed to She
described one as big and tall with red hair and a flat top, He was wearing whfte T·shlrt, The second one had a
muscular build with a white tank top with blond hair that was in a very normal hair cut (not cut very short nor left
very long), The third subject had brewn hair Mrs, Salerno slated they were very "grundgy" looking to her
Laurellater calledand lell a message on my VOlpe mail stating she remembers seEhng a b,g, tan backpack
near the table she sat at. She asked If it belonged to anyone and ended up pushIng It as.de She was not sure
what day this occurred

Reporting investigator, l? J . Doyle, is a commissioned peace

officer employed by the district attorney in the First Judicial
District serving Jefferson and Gilpin Counties. I am currently
assigned to assist in interviewing witnesses from Columbine High
School.

On May 12, 1999 I spoke with Sarah Katherine Sales, a sophomore.

Sarah told me the following:

 She stayed home the morning of the shooting because of a
migraine headache. (This was confirmed by her father. J She got to
sohool at about 10; 45. She went to the cafeteria and then .....nt
outside to avoid her spanish teacher. (She hadn't done her homework:
and didn't want to be confronted about it. I She came back: inside
and got money from her purse for lunch. She left her purse either
on the ground, or on the table. It .... s table S. Right then, Mr.
Sanders OamE! in to the oafeteria and said to get down. She got down
by her table. She was sitting with Jasmine Schell and Amber Dickson
(303 933-36211.

Rigltt after Mr. Sanders said to get down, Sarah heard gun
shots. She said it didn't click: in her head that it was real. It
sounded like a cap gun. She didn't remell)ber how many shots there
were.

Mr. !landers said to run, and she and Amber went to the
auditorium. Sarah didn't know what was going on and she went back
to the cafeteria to get her keys. The choir teacher, Mr. Andres was
telling people to go to the auditorium. She went back to the
aUditorium with other students. They went up the stairs and started
to go out into the hall. It was smoky. She could hear gun shots
and soreaming. She thinks that the smolee may have been white, but
wasn't sure. She said that it smelled, but couldn I t describe the
smell to me.

Sarah said that. they stayed in the auditorium for about 15

minutes. The fire alar"lllS were going off. She heard more gun
shots. She doesn't know if the shooter(s) were shooting at the
doors to the auditorium. The gunshots so=ded like they were
ricocheting from somewhere else. The doors to the auditorium were
locked.

Mr. Andres started to go to the hall. He opened the door and a

janitor yelled to go out there. The janitor said to follow him.
They went out through the foreign language hall and out the door
there to Leawood Park. She heard sOllIething like a bomb or a gu.'"l

shot when she was in the park. She then ran to Jamie Norwood's
house.

Sarah saw no duffel bags at any till\e.

She didn't know Eric Harris or Dylan lClebold.

She left her purse in the cafeteria and had her driver's
license in it.

She hun I t heard anything about anyone else making bombs Or

bringing guns Qr bombs tQ school. She doesn I t use the internet and
doesn't knQW anyone with double pierced eyebrows.

-CBS student; in cafeteria at an unknown table in the west oorner by
the west door for 4th hour with Preston Jordan, Brian Adams, Pat
Caruso, Lance Kirklin, and Nick Buhrer; at table in same location
for lunoh hour with Lance Kirklin, Danny Rohrbough, Sean Graves,
James Medaugh and a new student named Rohert (LNO); saw another
student in cafeteria named Jason Autenrieth who told him Ann Marie
Hochhalter was shot and that someone was throwing pipe bombs; looked
out west window and identified Dylan Klebold standing on top of hill
by stairs and throwing an object into the west parking lot; saw same
looking suspect walking toward west cafeteria door from bottom of
stairs moments later; saW no other suspect; saw no guns; SaW no
duffle bags; usually SaW a trenoh coat student in the cafeteria at
table WW alone for 4th hour whose description is similar to that of
Chris Morris; did not see that student morning of shooting; a
neighhor named Tony Martinez who has a son Cory who goes to
Columbine reported that he went to the school to check on his son
that day and was shot at by the front doors, 303-933-7327.

INVESTIGATIoN:

On May 10, 1~99 at 2015 hours I contacted Anthony Sammauro at his
home for an interview. Anthony's parents were present. Anthony
then told me the following:

• He is a freshman at Columbine High.

• When asked about Erie Harris, he said that he has seen Eric in
school before wearing a black: trench coat. He said he used to see
Eric leave the school for lunch hour and join other lJtudents at a
black BMW in the lot. He would see this from the cafeteria
windows. He did not know Eric Harris by name.

• When askea about Dylan Klebold, he said that he has seen Dylan
in school before wearing a black trench coat. He said that Dylan
would also be one of the students to go with Eric Barris to the
black BMW in the lot for lunch. He did not 1<:.'10W who the driver of
that car was. He did not know Dylan Klebold by name.

• When asked, he did not know
He said that he has seen 7 or B different students wearing
the black trench coats at times. He did not know the names of those
students. He has heard of the name "Trench Coat Mafia" and thought
they were like a gang.

• He did not know any of the names of students who associated

with the trench coae studencs.

• He usually goes to ehe cafeteria. for 4th hour because he has

that class time off. He said that he often saw one of the trench
coat student" in the cafeteria for that 4th hour. He said the
student always sat alone at table WW (referring to the diagram)
reading a book. He would see this student at least Once a week. He
described this student as follows:

-white male, wore a black beret backwards, wore sunglasses,

• He said he did not remember that student being in the cafeteria
for 4th hour Qn the morning of the shooting.

• When asked, he did not see any trenoh coat student or associate
at the school the day of the shooting. (Identified Dylan lelebold
outside the oafeteria when shooting began.,

• When asked, he did not see any suspioious obj eet; that was out
of plaee at school the day of the shooting. When asked
specifically, he did not see any duffle bags.

• On the day Qf the shooting. he has 4th hour off. When his 3rd
hQur seience class got out, he walked down to the cafeteria to spend
his 4t;h hour time with friends. Referring "-0 the <iiagram. he
thought he sat with his friends at one of the following tables; ZZ,
55, ce, TT, Y'l, or XX. He was with Preston Jordan. Brian Adams, Pat
Caruso, Lance Kirklin and Nick Suhrer.

• When the lunch hour began. he did not know i f he switched

tables or not. If he did switch tables, he said it would have been
in the sarna area. Some of his friends left the table and soma
remained at the same table. lie remembered being at the table for
lunch with Danny Rohrbough, Lance Kirklin, Sean Graves, James
Medaugh and a new student named Robert who's last nama is unknown.
He said others may have been at that table also.

• After several minutes into the lunch period everyone at his

table went outside via the west doer except for Robert Medaugh who
stayed in with him.

• He said that once those students were outside, he heard what

sounded to him like "black <::at" firecraokers going off somewhere
outside. Jamas Medaugh then <::ame running in from the west door and
tol<i him that he heard "gunshots."

He then walked to the west widows of the cafeteria and looked'-
outside at what was going on. He looked up the hill by the stairs
