this point forward. After you are punished, you have a two-week grace period to contest your ban.

Af ter this period of time, you forfeit all rights to dispute and will no longer be considered. To dispute, you must send me (Amoretti) a forum PM or email. Do NOT post in the player report forums regarding disputes. If you do so, you relinqui sh all rights to dispute and may not be considered for a reduced punishment. Thi s is a rule and we fully expect you to follow ALL of them. Ignorance is not an a cceptable excuse. Punishments are listed in the format: Rule: (1st incident) (2nd incident) (3rd incident), so on and so forth. All bans are account bans unless otherwise noted. Table of Contents Section I. Player - Player Interaction. Section II. Player - Monster Interaction. Section III. Third Party Programs and Client Modification. Section IV. Other Specific Behavior. Section V. Game Masters. Section VI. Personal Rules. Section VII. Modification Log. Section I. Player - Player Interaction. Part I. Harassment Harassment covers a wide range of offensive behavior. It is commonly understood as behavior intended to disturb or upset, and it is characteristically repetitiv e. In the legal sense, it is intentional behaviour which is found threatening or disturbing. (Wikipedia) Harassment may include, but is not limited to, verbal abuse, intentional followi ng or stalking of another player, excessive PMs (whether ingame or on the forums ), and spam. In most cases of harassment, it is necessary to let the other person know that y ou are being harassed and that you do not like it. Thus, to make a harassment re port, you must provide screenshots of you asking the other player politely to st op whatever he or she is doing. If the victim of the harassment is being assaulted by private messages, that pla yer should first use /ex PlayerName before escalating the issue to another level . If the offender changes characters and/or accounts to continue harassing the p layer, the offending player will be punished. Players frequently engaging in suc h behavior will be given punishment as seen fit. Images of other players are not to be shared without their explicit permission; this rule encompasses action in the Premium Image Gallery and the forums. Additi onally, personal information regarding other players are also not to be shared w ithout permission; this includes full names and the names of family members. Spamming in town via public chat is also punishable, seeing that enough evidence is given and/or an appropriate GM/Admin is present at that time. If a player is being sent friend requests or trade requests continually in a mal icious manner (especially in PvP or WoE), the offender will be punished. Racism is not tolerated in any way, shape, or form. Offenders will be dealt with very severely. Harassment - (3 day ban) (5 day ban) (7 day ban) ... 2 day increments Spamming in town, public chat - (1 day ban) (3 day ban) (5 day ban) ... 2 day in crements Racism - (Permanent Ban) Part II. Main chat and general language. Please note that general rudeness and foul language is no longer punishable, as

we tolerate freedom of speech. However, main chat is broadcast to every player on the server. Prohibited behavi or on main chat includes but is not limited to: excessive trashtalking and provo king (it is under the Game Master's discretion as to what is excessive - if othe r players begin to complain, then it will likely be considered so), foul languag e, and non-English chat. If a player is trashtalking/provoking/insulting another player on main chat, he or she can be punished if the second player makes it clear through a responding main or PM that they do not like the behavior, and asks the offender to please s top. If the behavior continues, the offender will be found guilty of harassment on main chat. If the victim does not have @main abilities and the offender does not allow incoming PMs, then this rule is void and the offender can be found gui lty without warning from the victim. Anything non-English on main chat is considered punishable by a 24-hour jail and 10-minute mute, and may increase depending on the frequency and past history of the player. If a player deliberately types gibberish into main chat in an attem pt to anger a Game Master and/or circumvent this rule, they will be punished sim ilarly. Any references to another RO server, other than official servers, can and will b e punished with a permanent ban. Harassment on Main Chat - (3 day ban) (5 day ban) (2 week ban) ... 2 day increme nts Non-English or profanity on Main - (24 hour jail, 10 min mute) (24 hour jail, 20 min mute) (24 hour jail, 30 min mute) ... increments of 10 minute mutes Part III. Scamming and Hacking. There are many different types of scamming observed here on LimitRO, many of whi ch are prohibited behavior. However, most scamming incidences involving ingame i tems will lead to punishment. On the other hand, we do not guarantee the return of lost items. Depending on the case, items may or may not be returned (if possi ble). If a player willingly lends his items to another, and the offending player refus es to return the items, this is not covered under our scamming rule. It is such that we do not suggest lending items to other players. Parties designated "share zeny" are often done, and the offending party leader f requently makes off with the loot without distributing to his or her party membe rs. In such an instance, an excess of screenshots are needed to show the offendi ng party's guilt - i.e. the victim(s) must show proof that the leader has agreed to a "share zeny" party, clear item drop/pickup logs must be enabled, and clear proof of the player refusing to share the items with the party. If your screens hots do not show enough proof, the case will often be rejected. Please note, how ever, that most such completed cases simply result in punishment and not return of the scammed items. It is thus that we suggest you only participate in "share zeny" parties with people that you trust. Cases in which players attempt to trick the other player in a deal by entering a lower amount of money than agreed upon is unfortunate and likely not supported. Items lost in this manner will not be returned. However, actions made by such p layers will not go unnoticed (especially if there are screenshots), and 2+ incid ences made by the same player will be punished accordingly. Selling/Trading unslotted items as slotted items will also be punished. Cases involving an "ingame trivia event" are also unfortunate and the Team does not provide support for any accounts or items lost in this manner. We encourage those players who encounter this predicament to make a report in the Players Rep ort forum. Please note that Game Masters will never ask you for your password an d will also never give out free items in such a fashion. Any player caught doing this will have a full IP scan and all accounts will be banned. Complaints involving "hacking" are serious. However, Game Masters have complete discretion over what is a hacking case and what is not, especially if the case d oes not involve server security problems. Players who share accounts will likely receive very limited help from administration. It is thus that we encourage pla yers not to share accounts or account information with other players. Please not

e that by sharing another player's account, you could also be banned by relation . Players who choose to share accounts must note that any activity logged onto you r character will be punished accordingly onto your account. It is the player's r esponsibility to entrust their information to trustworthy people, if they so cho ose. Thus, any illegal or prohibited activity performed on a character will lead to the punishment of that account, whether or not the person in action is the o riginal owner or not. Scamming/Hacking - (Permanent Account & IP Ban) Part IV. Impersonation. Impersonation includes misleading other players by attempting to impersonate a c lose friend, popular player, and/or a member of the GM team. Please note that while it is not prohibited to make similar names (everybody is entitled to make a character name as they wish), deliberately using this to your advantage to deceive other players is highly frowned upon. All related accounts will be banned permanently. Any attempts to impersonate the GM team will be dealt with harshly. However, please note that item and/or account return due to loss in this manner is under the sole discretion of the GM team, and cannot be guaranteed. Impersonation - (Permanent Account & IP Ban) Part V. Prohibited Transactions. Prohibited transactions include: the buying and selling of items for real money or cell phone load, trading items from LimitRO for items on another server (or v ice versa), and any trade involving the exchange of accounts or DP credits, whet her or not it be for ingame zeny or real money. This rule has also been extended to include anything outside the scope of Limit-RO, such as real-life items. Any player found guilty of these will be banned permanently without warning. Prohibited Transactions - (Permanent Account & IP Ban) Part VI. Other Prohibited Behavior. Prohibited ingame player-player behavior includes but is not limited to moonlit water mill in town to disturb other players, ice walling to prevent other player s from being able to transverse a particular area, placing warp portals on spawn points, and spamming skills excessively in town, causing other players to lag. Any other offending behavior not explicitly stated here can still be punished un der this rule if the overseeing Game Master sees fit, especially if the behavior is causing inconvenience or trouble to others. Reports can be made easily via screenshot, where you must show the offending pla yer's name. Depending on the severity of the crime and the area in which the behavior was pe rformed, punishment can range from a 12-hour jail and 10 minute mute to a 3-day ban. Moonlit Water Mill / Ice Walling / Warp Portal on Spawn - (1 day ban) (3 day ban ) (5 day ban) ... 2 day increments Skill Spam - (12 hour jail, 10 min mute) (24 hour jail, 20 min mute) (24 hour ja il, 30 min mute) ... 10 min mute increments Section II. Player - Monster Interaction.

Part I. MVP Griefing. MVP monsters are considered free-for-all. This includes monsters summoned via th e kill "Abracadabra". As such, any player who wants to kill it can kill it, even if it is summoned by abra and even if someone else is killing it at the same ti me. However, parties and/or individuals attacking the monster must be in a party cap able of killing the MVP (or you must be able to kill) on the screen (or on the m ap). If this is not the case, this is called MVP Griefing - intent to bother a p arty whose desire is to kill the MVP with no intent of killing the monster him o r herself. Bothering a party with intent to kill is ok. griefing for the sake of

griefing or merely preventing a kill is not ok. The accuser will have to provide compelling evidence, including a /showname shot (to show party) of the offending player. Multiple screenshots are needed of the offending behavior, and these will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. It is legal to debuff opponents (i.e. harmonize, assimilate power) if you can ki ll the mvp yourself within a reasonable time. MVP Griefing - (3 day ban) (5 day ban) (1 week ban) ... 2 day increments Part II. Spawning MVPs in Town. The simple action of using the skill "cultivation" in town is not prohibited, pr ovided that the player does it far enough away from the general population so as not to cause lag to other players. If another player asks him or her to move, t he cultivating player is expected to move elsewhere. However, the use of an azoth or the skill abracadabra on the cultivated plants t o summon MVPs in town is prohibited. Doing so will result in punishment. Players use towns as an area to rest; there is a reason why PvP is disabled in towns. F or this same reason, MVP summoning in town is considered inappropriate behavior. The severity of the punishment depends on the severity of the crime and the area in which the behavior was performed. Punishment can range from a 12-hour jail a nd 10 minute mute to a 3-day ban. Spawning MVPs in main towns & Vending Harbor - (3 day ban) (5 day ban) (1 week b an) ... 2 day increments Spawning MVPs in small towns - (12-hour jail, 10 min mute) (24-hour jail, 20 min mute) (24-hour jail, 30 min mute)... 10 min mute increments Part III. Other Prohibited Behavior. Other prohibited player - monster interactions include but are not limited to: k ill-stealing of another player's summoned plants on a monster-populated map and excessive mobdropping. Repetitive kill-stealing may also be punished, however, the reporting player mus t have @noks activated as proof and preventative measures. Only report after you have PMed the offending player asking them to stop and activated @noks; if the offending player continues after such measures are taken, then this is punishabl e. This rule encompasses all understandable prohibited behavior and may include ins tances not listed here. Whether or not a certain case falls under this rule is u nder the Game Master's sole discretion. Kill Stealing - (3 day ban) (5 day ban) (1 week ban) ... 2 day increments Section III. Third Party Programs and Client Modification.

Part I. AFK Leveling, Hunting, Farming, etc. It is legal to use a custom AI program to aid your gameplay using a homunculus. However, it is not legal to use these features to play the game while you are aw ay from your computer. In a similar fashion, it is prohibited to use autocast an d/or reflect effects to kill or damage monsters while the player is absent. Plea se note that this does not include the act of being leeched, as long as the play er doing the leeching is not breaking the aforementioned rule. A Game Master will test a suspicious player for 1-2 minutes. If within those two minutes the player does not respond, they will be labeled as an AFK player and punished accordingly. A player will be designated as AFK not by what he or she i s doing, but rather by how he or she reacts to the test and whether or not he or she passes. It doesn't matter what you are doing - if you are using a macro, if your younger brother is using it and does not speak English, or if you are watc hing TV and not paying attention. If you do not pass, then appropriate action wi ll be taken. Players are asked to respond to explicit PMs from other players on their map inq uiring about their their AFK/macroing/botting status. Players who intentionally do not respond to others will be reported and treated as AFK levelers. Reporting players are asked to write explicit inquiries as to the player's status - i.e.

"Are you a bot? Please respond or I will report you", and wait a full 2 minutes before responding with "I am reporting you for botting/macro". Anyone idling or afking in any of the Battlegrounds maps will be punished severe ly. This rule encompasses those who log out mid-match repetitively as well as th ose who dual client in Battlegrounds to achieve enough players to begin a match. Infractions of this rule may result in anywhere from a 24 hour jail to a 3 day ban. AFK Leveling/Hunting/Farming - (1 week ban) (Permanent Ban) AFK in Battlegrounds, Peak hours - (3 day ban) (5 day ban) (1 week ban) ... 2 da y increments AFK in Battlegrounds, Slow hours - (24 hour jail) (48 hour jail) ... 24 hour inc rements Part II. Scripts, Macros, and Bots. It is prohibited to use any kind of script, macro, or bot. Any apparent and prov en use of a third party program will be punished severely with a permanent ban. Scripts / Macro / Botting - (Permanent Account Ban) (Permanent Account & IP Ban) Part III. Client Modification. The list of allowed client edits are as follows:

Frost Joke/Scream Text Homunculus AI scripts Modified aura sprites MouseFreedom that does not include macros Changing no-emblem guilds to display an emblem on your client. Any client edit not explicitly stated above as allowed is automatically prohibit ed and will be punished. A Game Master reserves the right to conduct screening o n any player at any time (including during the War of Emperium) to ensure that t he player is not using any sort of prohibited client changes. Those who fail to comply immediately with the screening will be judged as guilty of a prohibited c lient edit. Any player found using unofficial clients will be punished accordingly depending on the severity of the crime. We do not support the downloading or use of any client not provided by LimitRO o r otherwise unauthorized websites, including those posted on the forums by other players. If you choose to use a client not explicitly distributed by an Admin, Game Master, or Forum Moderator, you take full responsibility of the appropriate use of such a client. Any security issues resulting from the use of a non-offic ial client will not be supported. Client Modification - (Permanent Account Ban) (Permanent Account & IP Ban) Section IV. Other Specific Behavior.

Part I. Exploitation and Bug Abuse. All bugs must be reported. Any player found guilty of abusing the bug, after eit her discovering it themselves or being told, will be punished. Those who exploit bugs for any reason will be punished. Those who fail to report someone who is e xploiting a bug will also be punished. Punishments for bug exploitation will depend on the nature of the bug. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but most bug abusers will be permanently banned on all related accounts and IPs. Exploitation / Bug Abuse - (Permanent Account & IP Ban) Part II. Common Sense Clause. Behavior not explicitly listed in the rules can be punished if the Game Master s ees fit. Behavior punished in this manner will be covered under the Common Sense Clause, which will state that players will not deliberately negatively effect t he playing experience of those players around him, and/or attempt to achieve an

unfair advantage over his/her peers. It is under the Game Master's sole discreti on what is and what is not covered under this rule. An example of something cove red by the Common Sense Clause includes the abuse of loopholes in the server gui delines. Repeat offenders will find that with each rule infraction, the punishment will i ncrease. Anyone who attempts to avoid punishment will also receive increased pun ishment. Anything punished by this rule will be added to the appropriate section and logg ed for future reference. Part III. Forums. Inappropriate behavior (such as excessive trashtalking, racism, posting inapprop riate pictures, etc) on the forums can and will be traced back to your ingame ac count and punishment can be given. Forum Behavior - (10 min mute) (20 min mute) (30 min mute) ... 10 min mute incre ments Section V. Game Masters.

Part I. Hierarchy. The Administrator holds all rights above the rest of the Game Masters. This incl udes the right to remove or hire Game Masters with or without notice. It is important to note that a punishment given by one Game Master cannot be ove rridden by another. If, for example, Game Master 1 punishes a player, the player cannot go to Game Master 2 to beg for an unban. A Game Master cannot and will n ot undo punishments made by another Game Master. Thus, disputes concerning punis hment will be considered only by the original Game Master. We encourage players to report suspicious or possible corrupt Game Master behavi or to a higher-up. You may contact either Lai or Amoretti with concerns regardin g corruption and each case will be investigated in full. Part II. Reserved Abilities. The Game Masters reserve the right to make edits to these rules at any time. How ever, in the case of a rule modification, related incidences will be judged acco rding to the set of rules in place at the specific time that the incident occurr ed. Game Masters reserve the right to punish players who are disrespectful towards t he server and/or staff as they see fit. Depending on the severity, punishment ca n range from a 10 minute mute to a permanent ban. Game Masters also reserve the right to place increased, heavier rules upon those players who have excessive offensive history. Rules put in place on such player s will be explained in full, and the player will be asked to give consent. Failu re to comply with increased rules may result in a permanent ban. Please note tha t this is done very rarely and only in very extreme cases. Increased sets of per sonal rules may be viewed in Section VI. Any player that causes excessive trouble to the staff and/or other players can b e punished (severely) under this rule. However, this will not be done without wa rning. Part III. Rules for the Game Master. The Game Master must never enter the WoE castles during siege unless dire circum stances require. Do not share or give away any items/zeny. The reward for events are event points . GMs are unable to trade, drop, or send items via mail as server protocol. Do not assist or aid any player beyond your duties as a Game Master. You may not help a player level, acquire items, or win PvP/WoE brawls/events. Do not share your GM account information with anyone. Giving out your GM account will receive harsh punishment on both sides. Do not treat players whom you have befriended with any amount of leniency or pro vide them with any sort of benefit. Every player should be treated equally, disr egarding any personal bias.

Do not reduce a punishment on a player if you were not the GM to place the punis hment originally. The Game Master is expected to follow the above rules in addition to all the rul es applicable to the regular player. Section VI. Personal Rules. For those players who have been added to the list of Probationary Players due to excessive history, a harsher punishment will be put in place - such as a perman ent ban on all necessary accounts - as a result of any rule infraction. These pl ayers are asked not to respond to provoking (although this does not give other p layers permission to deliberately provoke them to get a response that will resul t in a ban), which will also result in a permanent ban.
